Was this a direct flight, with no stop overs?
-
I have a valid retirement visa which I shall use to re enter Thailand on 29th September (single rentry). the extension is valid until May 21st 2023.
However I need to return to the Uk mid March 2023. I want to try to avoid applying for a new retirement visa if I can.I am aware that I can get a new extension 30 days early ,and some offices allow 45 days?
my question is the opposite of most queries…….can I get a renewal extension earlier than 45 days.? My normal immigration office is Hua Hin.my thanks in advance for your assistance/experiences.

I’m sure that a 2 weekly flight to Singapore would be popular,as changi is a major international hub.

I’m a British citizen, and I want to come to Thailand for 30 days on the no visa entry system…I’m aware of the requirements re testing ect,but am confused re 20 or 10 or 7 days quarantine. The Thai embassy info is not clear? Also I want to do the quarantine in Hua HIN if possible,or Bangkok if necessary. I do not want to go to Phuket.
Any help would be gratefully received. Thank you…- 1

Has anybody managed to get a booster in Hua HIN from “Be well”. Please? Many thanks

Hi, I’m in the U.K. currently. I have had all the shots administered by the NHS. First 2 were AZ, booster was Pfizer. I’m 71 this was the official guidance.
Hope this helps

On s similar theme, I’m coming in visa exempt then converting to OVISA. Can anyone advise please how soon after obtaining the O visa ,can I get a retirement extension? Money already in place.
thank you very much for your help.

My grateful thanks for the reply’s. I did indeed make a mistake….I read the “advice” from TVS global, not the thai embassy itself.
One further question if I may….. if I come in “visa exempt” for less than 30 days….do I need to buy insurance for this period?
my thanks for your advice and assistance. -
I am a UK national I want to stay in Thailand for about 4months and whilst there, apply for a ‘Retirement “ visa. I believe this is an O visa with extension of stay for 12 months?
I am 71 years old . And already have the 800K baht in a bank in Thailand.
I thought I could enter ‘Visa exempt” and then convert to an O visa, but reading the thai gov website it states that visa exempt entry cannot be extended except in exceptional circumstances, like illness, also the UK citizens do not appear to be eligible?.
I am aware that I could apply for a tourist visa but really wanted to avoid the insurance aspect.
I would be grateful for advice. My thanks in advance.

I know the usual cynics will say our advice is……….”don’t “. ????. However,I have been with my Thai girlfriend for 11years, and feel it is the right time to formalise our relationship .
I need advice from people that have actually been through this please. I want to make it easier for us to be together especially in the UK ,as I am a UK citizen and we will be spending the majority of our time in the UK,wth trips back to Thailand once or twice a year.Funding is not an issue as I am fortunate enough to have a generous income and savings.
my question is which is the easiest route for obtaining permission to stay long term in the UK.
marry in Thailand or UK ?serious answers only please. My sincere thanks in advance for your advice.

I bank with Krungsi. I simply changed my mobile phone number to a UK number,it works with my bank, they send me passcodes ect for logging in on my thai app via my UK phone

Does anyone know the type of test required, PCR?
Also is a certificate printed in English also required and would a regional hospital such as Kalasin, be able to provide?
72 hours isn't too long to rearrange everything if you don't get it right the first time!
I'm hoping to fly back to the UK (with my Thai girlfriend for the first time) in the next few weeks.
The 2 self administered tests are required for home quarantine. They have to be booked and payed for online,48 hours before U.K. arrival. Go to www.GOV.UK

My experience regarding repatriation for Thai National from U.K.
informed by Thai embassy we must book quarantine hotel and send proof. They will then get Airways to confirm flight, informing us of how to pay,and issue a permission to fly. We then book a fit to fly telephone appointment.
fit to fly booked 48hrs before flight
quarantine hotel booked and payed for
still awaiting flight details and to pay Thai Airways
still awaiting embassy permit to fly
Flight is supposed to go on 16th.....6 days!

i am concerned that the restrictions may not be lifted in time for me to return to Thailand to do it myself.thank you for any advice you may be able offer. The immigration office is Hua Hin

Price includes 3 meals a day, internet ect and in many cases Covid testing. Many are priced 50 to 70k for 14 nights......what would you expect to pay for 14 nights full board?

Or extend them at the Thai embassy of the country they are stuck in.
An excellent suggestion! Kudos to Kadilo!

In common with many others,I am in UK and cannot get back to Thailand to renew my visa , retirement extension.
i and many others would appreciate lobbying from U.K. embassy,to facilitate automatic extension or postal extension.

Sheer testosterone fuelled arrogance,a product of the “look at me generation”, but now quickly being adopted by anyone who can buy
Lycra with logos and has sufficient imagination to believe they are a professional cyclist. My experience of UK ,but seen also in Hua Hin where my neighbour and his pals all wear “teamcolours” and take it in turns to “set the pace” .....to be fair,Ive not seen them on their road race, and perhaps are exceedingly polite?

UK Tax Question
in UK & Europe Topics and Events
Posted
I might be mistaken but…..I believe that despite the government knowing how much state pension I receive, the tax return always asks you to record the amount on your tax return. Strange but there it is?
I am always baffled as to why they ask when they automatically fill in the retired company pension amounts automatically.
