  1. Yes to both the last question. I am the father and I registered the papers as well at the amphur. He has my family name but written in Thai. I don't know what it worth as some people say that you cannot register a baby at the amphur before he is 5 or 6 years old. But I did it and they requested my passport to do it.

But really I would put an end on this thread. During the last two months, my situation changed. I am the kind of people who can accept to say when he is wrong. I think that at the time I wrote this post, I was in a bad mood about our relationship. I think she is really a nice person but not perfect like everybody. I have had a some much perfect relationship with a girl in my own country during 8 years, that I forgot that the beginning was not as good that what happened after when we learned to know each other more. Then I think I came to have too much expectation with my new girlfriend. She deserves that I give her more time to grew up as well as our relationship, and my knowledge about the Thai culture.

I would still agree to talk about the amphur papers as it could help me and other people.

  2. I am the OP of this thread.

I was very ashamed to come back to the forum after I wrote my post. After I wrote this post, I thought everybody would told me that I am a bad person and that I am just looking at how handle the situation on the money side.

That is not true of course.

I came back to the forum today, as I wanted to changed for a new identity. But after reading all your posts, it seems most of you feel for me. I feel very awkward when it comes to money and more over if it is about my child and his mother.

We didn't split and we finally came back together. Then we split again one week ago. Then she took my son with her and gave him to the girlfriend of his father.

Then we didn't met for 3 days. She never questioned me about money but she made it clear that she would go and work in a bar.

I wish to open a new thread about this at I feel that the subject is now very different.

I appreciate a lot all of you guys who came and wrote a reply to my post. I thank you very much.

  3. Hi all,

I am just another one who realize after his child's birth, that we have to carefully choose our partner and moreover the mother of our child :(

I have stayed 2 years with my Thai GF, I wanted to have a child , yes it is me. He is now 3 months years old and I love him very much, also he is my only child.

But I can't stand his mother anymore. Over the time that she was pregnant and then after, I saw her true face more and more, I can't stand her way of life and her attitude anymore.

I am deeply sad and devastated by the fact that I will loose my son. I can't even imagine that. I am so depressed that this little wonder will be raised in the wrong place and by the wrong people.

I guess I must face it.

I absolutely want to financially support my child. I just registered the papers as father to the amphur, and I think this doesn't give her any right to ask me anything.

I would like to know more about this.  Could she make me run into trouble ? Could she be able to request anything from me by the law ? I just agree to support my child, certainly not her and her lazy life.

    Thank you

  4. Hi everyone,

I have subscribed to Sinet since 4 or 5 months. Over the last two months, they kept calling me saying that I have trouble with my internet connection, that it is slow and they want to come at my home to fix it. But my internet is fast and OK, I never complained about it. I tell them on the phone, they don't need to come. But some weeks after they should call again. I really start to worry about some people want to have a look inside my home for any strange reasons.

Did any one else experienced the same ?

    Thank you !

  5. Thanks a lot for your answer UbonJoe.

II don't think that my school would qualify to offer advanced studies.

Do you know if Chiang Mai university would offer those advanced studies ? I wanted to enroll with them at first but since they absolutely need a criminal record, whatever the nationality, I declined this opportunity as the paperwork would need extra times.

    Thank You

  6. Hello from Chiang Mai,

I just enrolled in a one year course for the first time and I might say that it is better than I thought, most students in my classroom really want to learn and the teacher is quite good.

I read in many places that it is possible to renew the course for a total of 3 years. But on some posts, it seems that it is just for a year and half. Quite confusing ?!?

I see this ED visa a great solution to stay with my newborn son and his mother while learning to read and write in Thai. Then I will be able to assist my son when he will start to read and write himself.

So my question is to know if ED visa is allowed for total of 3 years or only a year and half.

Thank You and wishing you have a good day !

  7. thank you both of you for the answers. I don't know why Chiang Mai university wants to get one. Maybe they are more serious. Also they can get the papers done in only 7/10 days, while the pantip plazza school would need 3 weeks.

Another question, does anyone has any feedback about the NES school at Chiang Mai, they seem to be too much cheaper to be true, only 18000 baht.

What about the school at pantip plazza (we learn Thai) ?

  8. Hello,

I'm about to enroll in a course to learn Thai language and to get an ED visa.

I'm located in Chiang Mai and I am French.

I first contacted the school at Chiang Mai university, they told me that I need a criminal record check and that it can be applied in Chiang Mai but they don't know where.

The second school I contacted, the one at Pantip Plazza, told me that as I am a french citizen, I don't need a criminal record check.

What is the correct answer ? I never had any trouble with the police neither in my own country nor in Thailand. In the case I would need this check, where in Chiang Mai can it be done, what are the documents needed and how long would it take ?

    Thank you !

  9. Thank you very much. It is very far from the automatic translation of google.

I'm not fluent in English. Does it mean she loves me but she has to be strong to leave me ? Or that she accepts to forget me though this is painful ?

Of course, all is about money in this relationship.

This lady seems not satisfied with 10.000 baht a month I give her But she just has got a 3 years old child and a 2.500 baht a month room rental for her sister. Everything else I took care for her.

She is just average and not the gorgeous lady. But she is 22.

How if she loves me she can chose to leave me because she needs more money ? And she knows she can get more if she has a little work like in a shop and also I will get money with my job really soon.

Is it just because she is 22 ? I think a 40 years one would have been very satisfied. I am 40 years old and quite handsome.

Once again, she doesn't know I read her quote. So I guess she wrote her feelings.

  10. Hello,

my ex girlfriend post this on her line. She thinks I cannot see it and anyway I couldn't understand. I know she talks about me.

Google translate doesn't helps me so much to understand the real meaning. I know she posted this quote to share her feelings to her friends.

    Thanks

  11. Hello,

on my last tourist visa, it was the 4th one in my passport, they marked "proof of residence in Thailand and financial income are required next time" and also "the holder of this passport travels under a tourist visa several times which may result of the refusal of a visa in the future".

I wish to stay more before I come back home, do you think they will allow the one month extension for 2000 bahts ? My guess is no but ...

    Thx

  12. Hello,

I'm sorry to register in the forum and as a new member and starting by requesting help.

Like the OP I didn't take in consideration that my one month visa exemption expires tomorrow Sunday and the office is closed of course.

I wished to extended for another month, but now I'm not sure what will happen if I come at the immigration office (Chiang Mai) on Monday, will they allow me the extension (1 month) or will I run into trouble because theoretically from Monday I won't have any valid document to stay in Thailand ?

    Thanks, Alex
