  1. Anyone have an idea how much it would cost in a metered taxi from the Suvarnabhumi Airport to the Twin Towers Hotel 88 Rong Muang, Patumwan which is in the vicinity of National Stadium.

    mahalo (thanks)

  2. well actually it is Singapore not Cambodia

    also wondered is there a problem about how many times one re enters within a 90 day period/ say if when we come back from Myanmar we decide to go to Vietnam return to Bangkok and leave for Singapore and return to bangkok for our return flight?

    You can enter on 30 day stamps on entry as many times as you wish as long as the total time you actually spend in the country is not greater than 90 days in a 180 day period so actually you didn't need the Tourist Visa. As you can see we are all confused about where you are going and when and you still seem undecided but I'm sure you'll have a great time wherever you finish up in S.E.Asia. Enjoy it. :o

    it looks like basically for actual tourists nothing much has changed

    as we say in the islands Mahalo Nui Loa(khawp kuhn kah) for all of the input I have received on this forum

  3. You are right - get so used to people traveling to Cambodia did not give Burma (I can spell that - sometimes) a thought. But don't believe it will be a problem for a flight from there.

  4. There is no reason for a re-entry permit in your case. You enter using tourist visa. On return from Cambodia you enter using 30 day visa exception. You travel to Singapore before the 30 days are up. On return from Singapore you obtain another 30 day visa free entry. You will not have to contact Immigration in this case as you will not extend your tourist visa or obtain a re-entry permit.

    Well to be truthful with you that is what I thought but with all the new rules I wasn't sure it still worked that way as I thought they were cracking down on folks leaving for a few days just so they could stay in the country longer.

    thanks for clarifying it for me.

    So I guess when I return from Singapore I just whip out my original international ticket that shows I fly out on April 2 back to Honolulu??

  5. Hi,

    I'm planning a trip to Thailand in late summer and I am considering plastic surgery - a face lift and work to my lower eye lids. I've heard about Bumrungrad Hospital and I'm wondering if anyone has any information on doctors - good or bad experiences and what to watch out for. Any other information that anyone could provide would be much appreciated.

    Coney

    what did you decide? and how did it go? would appreciate any information

  6. We have a 60 day Visa with a round trip tkt that show us entering Thailand Jan 24 leaving April 2. However, we will leave for 16 days to Myanmar on the 11th of Feb and return to thailand on Feb 28. I realize we can re enter on a 30 day entry visa but we are four days over the 30 day before our rd trip tkt shows us leaving. However, we have plans at the end of March to go to Singapore to visit a friend for a few days and return to Bangkok for our flight home. We are US citizens.
    You can get a re-entry permit at any immigration office in Thailand which will allow you to re-enter Thailand from Myanmar and stay until the original date of your permission (60 days from your date of entry) Cost B1000. Then when you go to Singapore just return to Thailand and get a 30 day stamp on arrival.
    Also what is the address and phone number and website of the Thai Embassy in Bangkok
    There is no Thai Embassy in Bangkok

    thanks so much great information. Can I do that at anytime before leaving for Myanmar and is that something that can be done on the spot or do I need to give it a couple of days leaving my passport with them? How would I find a listing of immigration offices in Thailand?
  7. Now that I am thoroughly confused I decided to start a new topic. We have a 60 day Visa with a round trip tkt that show us entering Thailand Jan 24 leaving April 2. However, we will leave for 16 days to Myanmar on the 11th of Feb and return to thailand on Feb 28. However, we have plans at the end of March to go to Singapore to visit a friend for a few days and return to Bangkok for our flight home. We are US citizens.

    Will we need to get a Visa extension before flying to Singapore to re-enter Thailand or will we simply be able to re-enter on a 30 day entry Visa? Also what is the address and phone number and website of the Thai Embassy in Bangkok

  8. Jay Dee originally sites the Nation as his source of information but when I was looking online at the "Nation" I didn't find anything there on the bombing in Chaing Mai. So where is the report on the Chaing Mai bombing? Please give me the link.

  9. Enter your credit card details, and once approved! (instant confirmation) Then you are emailed copy of eticket itinerary and receipt. Rather painless. :D

    MAHALO (Thanks)

    Now lets hope I can book using my Apple.

    :o

  10. Aloha . Has any one out there booked an International Ticket over the internet with Air Asia? I want to book Bangkok to Yangon and return. However, these folks profess to be completely ticket-less. Not exactly sure what they mean by this? I would be using my CC to book the flights and would like what we call an electronic ticket or an itinerary of some sort! What type of proof of ticket purchase do they give?

    Appreciate you sharing your experiences with this air line and/or any other low-cost airline (other than Air Asia) recommendations with the routing I need.

  11. I don't think there will be any more departure tax booths at the airport come Feb. 1. This, from the Singapore Air site, explains the situation well.
    (Effective 01 November 2006 For Travel Commencing 01 February 2007 Onwards)

    1. Currently, Airport Taxes (Passenger Service Charge or PSC) ex Thailand are collected by the airport authorities at the airport departure area. Effective 01 November 2006, PSCs will be collected at point-of-ticketing by the airlines/travel agents on behalf of Airports of Thailand. This is applicable for travel ex Thailand starting from 01 February 2007* onwards.

    Note: *Passengers who travel ex Thailand before 01 February 2007 will continue to pay their PSCs at the airport departure area.;

    2. The Airports of Thailand has raised the PSC from the current THB500 to THB700 per passenger for travel ex Thailand from 01 February 2007 onwards;

    3. Passengers who are already issued tickets for travel ex Thailand from 01 February 2007 onwards will need to pay their THB700 PSC during check-in formalities at the airport. Alternatively, these passengers may also refer to Singapore Airlines or their ticketing agents before commencing travel;

    4.The following passengers are exempted from PSC:

    Infants (children under 2 years old),

    Transit/Transfer passengers.

    5. For more information, please contact your travel agent or call Singapore Airlines (Bangkok) at Tel:+66-2-353-6000

    BUT WHAT ABOUT IF YOU BOUGHT YOUR TICKET ARRIVING END OF JANUARY (24TH) AND THE

    TICKET WAS ISSUED IN DECEMBER ???

  13. While in Bangkok last year we flew Fly12Go to Chaing Mai but I booked the tickets in Bangkok by phone and physically picked them up

    I want to book my tickets on line this year prior to leaving my home country and wanted to know if anyone has had experience/problems (booking on line-flying with the airline-checking in at the airport, etc. ) with any of the following airlines:

    AirAsia; Nokair; Fly12go

    Sargey you forgot to post your comments

  16. It sounds as if you are not using visa travel at all but planning to arrive without visa and enter on visa exempt 30 day stay. Although it should work if airline allows you to travel you might want to obtain a real tourist visa for your first entry to avoid any last minute problem at airport unless you are sure there will not be any questions asked.

    How does the real tourist visa work at the airport?

  17. We plan on coming into thailand on a 30 day tourist Visa for about three weeks ad leaving to go to Myanmar and then coming back to Thailand again for 3 wks and leaving to go to Singapore for a few days and coming back again to Thailand for about a wk before catching our flight back.

    I hope I understand correctly and that this will not cause us any problems re entering back into Thailand??
