  1. I have just transited through the airport 2 days ago for my flight back to work.

At the time of travelling for my 03:10 flight, nowhere was open to eat/drink.

I walked all over the departure areas and all were wrapped up in a plastic sheeting.

I asked the information counter and they said nowhere is open now.

There is alot of refurbishment going on in the area so maybe it is due to that or just covid reasons still.

But this was just 2 days ago I am reporting on.

  2. I also emailed Bangkok Hospital Pattaya and Pattaya Memorial hospital about the same enquiry. No answer from either as yet... Pity, as I am sure there are plenty of expats who may well pay for an earlier access to the vaccine.

  3. Nobody should be ''Forced'' to get a vaccine. Get it if you feel you need it, depending on your personal circumstances. If you feel you don not want it then it is your choice. However, you also must live with the fact that in order to remain living in Thailand, you may have to consider getting it.

For work reasons, I would decide to take the vaccine. More and more countries are insisting on travellers having had the vaccine and provide proof by way of letter, vaccination card etc... Even airlines may well have this as part of their acceptance criteria at check in.

I personally have no issues with getting a vaccine for my wife and I.

  4. Start the precautionary measures early and hope it doesn't get continually extended - obviously dependant on rising numbers or a slow down.

It's what most countries around the world have implemented already, therefore, it isn't a shock it would have happened in Thailand again.

I suppose the only other thing not (YET) affected is airport closures for international travel. See what happens on that one.

They just don't get it. You can give all the extra time in the world but no tourist in their right mind is going to pay through the nose to spend 15 nights of their holiday in jail.

I'm in quarantine right now. It's shxx. I'm only doing it because I've got 9 weeks off work and I've not seen my family since January. I'm still pixxxd off at losing those 15 nights.

I came on a 777 with Emirates. There were maybe 30 people on the whole plane.

You can dress it up any way you like but quarantine = no tourists.

Same Same mate... I'm on a rotation of 11 / 4 at the minute so it works out for me as well. Although not great having to spend 15 days in ALQ. Although whispers are saying it's possible for the 14 days QT to reduce to 10.. Again, this is hearsay but makes it a bit more bearable. I too have not seen my family in over a year. Cheers

Home country quarantine depends on your home country.

My home country ( finland ) considers Thailand as safe country so no quarantine when return.

As for "change visa" ,,, At least in Pattaya you can convert exempt to retirement if you want,,

Currently my home country (UK) has a travel bubble with Thailand in that coming back into UK I would not need to carry out any quarantine.. Obviously this can all change in a heartbeat as we know..

I hope I am reading correctly in that if agreed, those from the 56 countries can enter but still have to have the following:

CoE from RTE in your country

    ASQ Hotel confirmation

    Flight confirmation

    Covid 19 Insurance

I understand this will be decided by next week by the cabinet. Just trying to get my ducks in a row prior to starting a process.. Any other ideas / thoughts?

    Cheers

  7. Hey folks, I have been informed that Buriram city has had a major water pipe damage and residents have been without municipal water for 2 - 3 days now....

Can anyone shed any further light on this please.

Pretty desperate to say the least. Water shortage is one thing but having NO water at all is another.

I wonder if there has been a water station set up anywhere in the city that will allow people affected to come and fill water containers so they can wash themselves etc...

Any news at all would be grateful, Thanks
