  1. Heard from a friend recently that the yoga at the new Centara resort in Naklua. She's an avid yoga follower so maybe you can check it out.

Fairtex had great Hot Yoga but the place took a sudden nose dive :)

Tony's has a very tired Yoga instructor with people talking during class and just really not very serious about it.

    Any other suggestions ?

  2. It's still as simple. What's more everytime you make a purchase they add points to your card. After certain period of time you can actually change the points into cash voucher at the customer service. And once in a while they'll send you special coupons such like you spend 1000 baht and get 75baht off stuff.

Nothing much. Just an ID card, your address, and fill the form. You'll get the card immediately.

  3. You guys are just plain lucky to have a smaller pizza.

Just a couple of days ago, a pizza hut branch in Paris got their license suspended because a customer had a 'free appetizer' included in his pizza pepperoni delivered right to his door step. A DEAD RAT.

So maybe that's what they call 'Buy 1 get 1 free!'

  4. To go to the Transportation Office, drive north on Sukumvit towards Laemchabang direction and make a U-turn to get to Highway 36 towards Rayong. Just past the The Regents school, make a u turn and turned left on the first road past the school. The Transportation office is easy to find, its a large complex.

5 years. Search on the forum a little and you'll get your answer.

The age of the bike is written on your green book. In Thai of course. The first page. And the year in Thai year. This year's 2552, so you do the math.

And monty was right. It's the one behind Regents school. The other one at Ao Udom is another office too.

That doesn't help much. :) I asked at what age the bike has to be checked, and where to get it done. I know how to read the Bike's age in the green book, thank you.

  7. The main office around this area is situated in Ao Udom. They do car inspection and licenses too I think. But there is definitely one around the area in Pattaya that does this service with a slightly higher rate. I did mine at a private company in Sri Racha. No queues nothing. Fast and easy. Got a new sticker the next day.

  9. I have to go UK soon for 5 weeks and in the past have put my Cocker spaniel, called Lady, in kennels. In the past I have gone away for only 2 weeks and on my return she was so fretful, took days to get her back to her usual happy state. This time I must be away 5 weeks maybe longer and am worried about her welfare. Also the vet has doubled the fee from 100bht a day plus food to 200bht. Just wondering if theres any dog lovers that would like to foster her while I am away.

    Rocky,

You might want to try a different kennel. I also have a Cocker Spaniel (see avatar) and when we go on trips we bring him to the Dog Hotel (we live in Bangkok) which is located off Sukhumvit Road before you get in to Pattaya coming from Bangkok. The place sits out of the city and the dogs get plenty of fresh air and the individual kennels are clean and you can even get a aircon room for your pet! For a cocker he charges B150 per day. You have an option with the food. You can bring the food, which is what we do, or pay an extra B 50 per day. You might want to take a ride out and look at the place. Here is the phone number: 038 241686 or 086 1407896. He can give you directions. They also have a website: www.thaipetcare.com

Double confirm that this place is great for dogs. Khum Chaiyaporn loves dogs and takes really good care of them. I've put my dog in several hotels before and so far this is the best for they bring the dog out for a walk three times a day. And now everytime when I leave for holidays and bring my beagle back to this hotel, she will happily wag her tail upon arrival. and if you leave your dog there for 5 weeks, they'll shower your dog once a week.

  10. I am using an unlocked G1 from the UK. I just got the cupcake update about a week ago and then another one yesterday.

To avoid using the internet with your simcard, just go into settings and mobile networks and unclick data roaming.

The one problem I have had is that I could not send sms, but received them ok and calls went fine. I had to change sim and phone number for txts to work.

AIS was no help at all.

What I could use is another data cable and the 3.5mm jack adapter. Know of any in Phuket (or BKK)?

Is cupcake out already??? Any links you can PM me - does it work on a rooted G1 ?

    Cheers

yes. I've just updated my phone to version1.5. I did it manually through some android forums. Took me quite some time but pretty happy with the results

  11. No need for fancy clinics for this...it's easy to do yourself. Here is what to do...when in the shower, turn off the water and remove the shower-head; turn the water back on and set the temp to very luke-warm; turn the water flow to barely more than a trickle; stick the end of the shower hose in your bum [you can lube it up with soap or shampoo if you wish); you will feel your colon slowly fill-up with water; after a few seconds...remove the hose and walk over and plunk yourself on the loo; push the water out and flush. Repeat this 2-3 times and you will be amazed at how good, "empty" and "alive" you will feel.

If you do this a couple times a week, you will feel great...no kiddin! :)

I know you probably have good intentions but have you seen the water quality here?

No way - I would prefer to use mineral water if I had it done.

I will go and ask what they use at the place near Fairtex.

Rasayana at Fairtex has another branch in Bangkok too.

Googled it and found their website on colonic packages:

  13. ok, I'll tell you where you can find. There's a place called Rasayana along Pattaya Nua at Fairtex Hotel. I've seen them selling such package there. You won't be able to miss it when you drive along Pattaya Nua.

Enjoy being colonised! Put jokes aside. Some said it does help in digestion and you can say bye bye to constipation, acne, etc after that. Not tried it. Anyone out there tried this detox yet?

  14. I would be interested to know if you find somewhere.

What do the Thai artists say when you ask them?

It also depends on what kind of materials etc you want. For a few bits and pieces you can get them from B2S in Central World but I would guess you already know that.

Been searching since then. Found a 'Trend' chain at The Mall in Bangkapi that has some interesting stuff but not what I'm looking for. Got some pretty special handmade papers from JJ Mall at Chatuchak, nice range of papers at 555 plus in MBK but not enough choice of dimension. But well, still searching!

  15. In every country there will be an area or a center or a street where they sell lots of art supplies, tools, papers, wood, etc. There are lots of artists out there in Thailand. So where do they frequent when they need to source for their supplies in Bangkok? I've been searching for quite some time but yet to know where to go to get stuff like that. Anyone?

  17. Thanks. Will check it out.

Do you happen to have the contacts for these stables?
Looking for a place for kids to learn horseback riding here. Horseshoe Point was good but it has gone way too expensive now. Tried Jojo but places seems to be too small with 'temperamental' horses for kids to ride on. Then we've tried a horseback riding school somewhere near Regents school recently. Trainer is good, nice place, many horses but not many suitable for beginners to learn horseback riding for even the trainers admit about this point.

I'm trying to look for other Horseback riding schools in Chonburi, Pattaya or Rayong. I remember seeing a website of a horseback riding center somewhere near Bira Circuit along road 36 but I've lost the address. Can anyone help me out there?

Or if you have any other suggestions, that will be good too.

    Thanks in advance!

theres a good stables that does beach hacks on Sukhumvit Road on the left about a kilometre after the Ambassador hotel, going towards Pattaya from Ban Amphur

its a kind of ranch type place maybe rancho grande or something

its sounds twee i know but its ok.

they have western and engish saddles and other kit for rent

if you can ride well yourself then ask for a horse thats not been out for a while

it can be quite an experience......

the other one is the Horse Sport Center, at 11 kilometers on route 36 near the Bira International Circuit.

    have fun and take care.

The Pattaya Horse-Riding Training Center , at Km. 11 on Highway No. 36, has horses for hire.

    Tel: (038) 225149 or 081 302 0814 ask for Willi

the other one you will have to drive and have a look at it

After you have send the blood sample to one of those lab's and you've got the result back, your dog still needs to stay another 3 months in Thailand before it can enter France.

Vaccinations should be given not less than 1 month or more than one year to your dog prior to travel.

    Hope this helps. :D

  20. Hi,

I know there are a couple of topics set about bringing their dogs back to their country like England, etc. But none on France. I guess different countries will have different set of rules. We are planning to bring our dog back at the end of this year.

The dog has not being spayed yet, no microchip yet. So when do I need to do all the procedures if we were to bring her back in December? And what are the papers required?

    Thank you in advance!!
