What is the main problem? To be honest I didn't even know it was a rule until somebody pointed it out to me.

Seems like everyone is saying to find another plot. I've spent over a year looking for plots or houses and haven't come up with much. Is it a huge downside having a neighbor that close? I understand a bit of privacy and cooking smells, but if I build my house say ~6m from the wall, it doesn't seem like much difference (despite a little extra cost).
I'm not looking to sell anytime soon so not worried about price fluctuations that much.

problem solved.
The rest of the area is really nice. My wife seems concerned that someone knowingly violating the rules wouldn't be a great neighbor.

I'm looking to buy a plot of land with a good view. At the moment the plot right next to it is building a house that looks to be in violation of the building code. It's a 3 story building but it's certainly closer than 3 meters to the wall, probably closer to 1m. The house is 80%+ built, so it don't think they'd be able to change it at this point. I guess I could complain and have them block off all the windows, but this would ruin their view and I'd probably have quite an enemy as a neighbor. The current owner of the land is also unhappy with the situation and did not give permission. Any suggestions?

Flying from Bangkok to USA and trying to get all the requirements done.
Seemingly all I need is a negative test 3 days before the flight.
And I only need to do an antigen test not a PCR test?
I'm transferring through Japan but they seem to have no requirements for connecting flights.
For USA on the CDC website it says:
Can I get a rapid test?
Rapid tests are acceptable as long as they are a viral test acceptable under the Order.
Does a self-test meet the conditions of the Order?International air passengers traveling to the United States can use a self-test (sometimes referred to as home test) that meets the following criteria:
- The test must be a SARS-CoV-2 viral test (nucleic acid amplification test [NAAT] or antigen test) with Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
So it seems like this should be allowed? Has anyone traveled to USA and can confirm that the airlines in Thailand will accept this test?

What about a bottle from USA?

Was looking at getting this pizza oven:
https://uk.ooni.com/products/ooni-koda
I assume since this is propane it wouldn't be compatible with the gas they use in Thailand.
Would I be able to use an adapter or have the oven converted, or is this too complicated? -
Submitted documents, got 1 month under consideration stamp, had officers do home visit & had witnesses, they told me to come in the office in a few weeks after approval.
So the last step, I just go into immigration and get the extension stamp? Can I go in early? I'm traveling near the expiration date.Don't need to pay anything? Don't need my wife to come?
Thanks for all the help up to this point, so close! -
I just got a new passport while in Thailand. Before this I was on a tourist visa which is expired.
Do I need to transfer the visa or do anything at immigration, or just exit the country holding both passports?
I am exiting to Savannaket, Laos.
Thanks

I recently got married and was looking to get a Non-O visa in savannakhet.
My wife wanted to get her name changed but her Tabien baan was in a different district so they said they can't update her ID card.I believe it says she got her name changed on some document that said "I am taking the marriage license out of the office". But it doesn't say it on the actual marriage certificate.
Her ID is currently still the same so I don't have one of those 'name change' documents that Savannakhet is apparently requesting now.
Would they know her name is changed? (I don't think it is officially yet) Could I just say she didn't want to get her name changed?Or should we try to get her Tabien baan moved and name changed before I head to Laos.
Thanks! -
Okay great. I think I'll apply for a new passport by mail and then get the marriage visa in that. Shouldn't be a problem right? The marriage certificate doesn't say anything about passport number?

Does that mean I need to do the marriage extension of stay?
I don't want to put money in the bank and would prefer to just leave every 90 days getting the Multi entry marriage visa. -
I am going to the Amphur to get my marriage certificate tomorrow. I want to get a Non-O visa in Savannakhet but have a few problems.
My passport only has 5 pages left. The laos visa would take a page, and sometimes they have problems putting it on the last few pages?I have 21 days left on my visa (already extended). I could mail it in for a new passport (USA), but it says it takes 2-3 weeks so this is cutting it very close if any delays. Also do I need to go to immigration before exiting the country?
Either way I will need a new passport soon, and would prefer not having to carry 2 passports. I guess I could do a border bounce, then apply for a new passport, then get the marriage visa next month.
Just looking for the best option. Thanks! -

I am getting married next month and plan to get a multiple entry non-o visa from Savannakhet.
My passport is almost full from tourist visas, and will need a new passport soon.
Would it be better to get my passport renewed before I get my marriage visa? I know this would leave a 'left using tourist visa' stamp on the first page of my new passport, but maybe better than carrying a passport full of tourist visas? -
I am from USA and just got a new passport in Bangkok (old passport expiring). In my old passport I'm on a tourist visa (60 days) + a 30 day visa extension.
I've read that if you have an extension of stay you have to go to immigration to get this moved to the new passport. Is this true for a tourist visa extension? Or can I just bring both passports to the airport?
Thanks -
need to have 3m P95 masks specifically for pollution
I got a 3m P95 by accident instead of a N95. Is this mask good for air pollution as well? It seems like looking online it works for oil based particles such as paint, but wondering if that would detract from the filtering the smoke.
Thanks
Pool maintenance cost
in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership

I've seen a wide range of estimates. Starting a new construction and unsure if I should build a pool.
How much would it cost to maintain per month?
I've seen people say the energy for the pump alone is $100/mth. Plus the cost of chemicals, cleaning, etc.
The pool would be 4x10m.
Anyone add a pool recently and have a rough idea?
