No, immigration does not become more invasive.
On the forums in general and TV in particular we receive regularly information of new requirements but at following passage, anyone can see that these informations was false.
However we are now exempt to 90 days visit. This formality is done online in some minutes, quietly sitting in an armchair near a steaming espresso.
In conclusion, we know rather an easing and everyone should rejoice.

I came in thailand 8 years ago, initially to meet the Asian women, yeah !
for the sun, for life cheaper and meet expatriates who look like some Hemingway characters.
Today I am married to a beautiful young woman with almond eyes, I no longer cold, my house is big and nice and my meager pension is enough for us to live in an adequate comfort.
The only disappointment was in the complete absence of Hemingway heroes but I do not despair ...

Marriage visa is valid for one calendar year, and is renewable every year by submission of the same set of requirements just like the first time application. However, the funds in your bank account must be at least 3 months old before your can renew your visa.

It works perfectly for me in Chiang MaiSince the purchase by Ali group, there are now two types of products:1 Stored in Thailand, as before, that are delivered in a few days.2 direct import goods shipped by Ali partners that are delivered in 1 month.There is no advantage to control the import of products Lazada now. The Ali offers is infinitely more vast and almost always enriched with equivalent in much lower price.However Lazada is unbeatable for heavy and bulky it manages in warehouses. -
The biggest disappointment of this beautiful country was its massive attendance by expatriates of the lowest class.Reason I bless this forum to stay informed without duress to meet in live.This review is for expatriates. Joyful visitors I met when I lived in Pattaya were infinitely more interesting in my opinion.

It seems you will be departing the country on the 3rd since the visa run company is likely starting the trip on the evening of the 2nd. You will be fined 500 baht and an overstay stamp will be done in your passport.
The one day overstay will no effect on you getting the visa or entering the country. Others have gotten them in Vientiane with much longer overstays and returned to the country.
A few years ago I often extended from one day my visa limit. At this time it was already 500 baht a day late but the fine started only from 2 days late.If this rule is still valid our friend will not even have to pay 500 baht.-

Very clearly the best among Thais are their women, or rather their daughters.Certainly there are other advantages are:- Low prices combined with a comfort equivalent to that of the West.- The generally friendly and welcoming population.- The overall very restrictive formalities.- A Buddhist elegance to be found everywhere and makes meetings and ballads particularly pleasant.This is all well and good, but not enough to take the step. better to stay visitor.However many have fortune to meet here a sweet partner, bubbly and loving that enchant every moment of the day (and of the night). These are happy living here. They have no desire to come back and in my case for example, obligation to return sometime in my country to manage patrimony is a real chore.I have the same age as you, but now I know that for this project the age does not matter and I would do it again with 10 more years.

I lived 12 years on my boat in Europe (Mediterranean sea)
Advantages:
- Unobstructed permanent sea view
- Generally happy and sympathetic neighbors... Hum!
- Real trap to babes...
- Going out when you want.
- The incomparable charm of arrivals and departures in a new port.
Disadvantages:
- Exorbitant maintenance costs (Ports of Europe)
- Risk of sinking requiring extreme vigilance at sea.
- The boat costs very expensive to buy, but it resells very poorly
- People (girls) like coming but not staying.
- Often some drunkards want to get on board to finish night.
That said I would probably have continued in this way of life in Thailand but I preferred to get married and therefore change my lifestyle.
