  1. Just called them and the Big Boss ( a Phuket native) does not want to release any info yet, but I did get this much:

It will open in November and have 3 kinds of beer, all to be brewed by a German Brewmeister...

Best of all its stumbling distance to my home! I hope it isn't too expensive...

On a beer related issue, there is a new domestic brew available at Tesco called Federline that is a "blonde" beer, tastes OK and is reasonably priced as its brewed in Thailand.

    :o

i also tried "Federbräu" last week ( guess, that´s what u meant!?)

big bottle 65 baht at 711

coming also like Chang etc. from the Thai Beverage

  2. does anybody have informations about Phuket Brewery opposite Tesco Lotus?

(when they are going to open, concept etc.)

    Hi flip,

where is your info regarding this brewery coming from?

Powerful people in the beer business here keep a stranglehold on imports and the openings of any type of microbreweries, that's why you don't see them. Microbrews would be a good business here that's for sure as the beer here su*ks.

there is a big sign : Phuket brewery... they also looking for staff... , so I guess, they opening soon... it´s quite a big building..

and yes, I also think, it is a very good idea/business!

  3. It might help if you specify your budget.  Also go around yourself and don't go with an agent.  Short term?  Long term?  A/C? Phone Line? Lots of variables that you might want to define so we can help you out.

up to max. 15000 Baht a month, longterm, AC, phone line, garden, 2 or 3 beds + 2 baths (or 1 also possible)

was going around many times already but didnt really find something nice...

    thnks a lot!!

  4. Looking already quite long time for a nice/decent house in Rawai/Naiharn area (Chalong as well..)

up to max. 15000 Baht a month, longterm, AC, phone line, garden, 2 or 3 beds + 2 baths (or 1 also possible)

For me privacy is quite important, so detached house...

was going around many times already but didnt really find something nice...

All nice houses I found are quite expensive(around 20000 Baht/month) or bad located, extreme greedy landlord etc.

Is there no chance to get a nice 2/3 bedroom house with garden anymore for this money??

    Any recommendations?

    thnks a lot

  5. Looks like it is worth a look but there's not a lot of info on their website. What time does the show start and how much is the entrance fee? Is there discount for kids & Thais?

show starts at 7.30pm daily except wednesdays

they offering now a 50% discount on tickets for locals/residents (farangs, holding a Thai ID can also get 50%)

normal price is 1200 baht per ticket

  6. The new photo regulations for British passport seem quite incredible. Can anyone recommend a photo shop in south of Phuket that can produce photos EXACTLY to the regulations? thanks in advance.

central, I think 3rd floor but I´m not sure...

(the staff from the german consulate told me...)

  9. Hi,

I have written a letter to my embassey in support of a visa application. I would lke to get it translated into Thai so my girlfriend can read it. Anyone know of a translation service in Rawai or Chalong area.

    Thanks

There's an English school just past the circle on the road to Rawai on the right hand side would probably do translations.

After many awful translations from local outfits geared toward Thais for Thai to English, I always take my stuff to the certified place (Bangkok International Translation or something like that) up the Mae Luang Road just after the tyre shop on the left hand side, in Phuket Town, best there is.

try ILC in Chalong, opposite the big T´shirt printing shop, same side as Flintstone bakery..

    phone 076-282182

  10. Did anybody visit already the Phuket Stunt Show in Chalong?

    www.phuketstuntshow.com

  11. Did anybody go already to the stuntshow in Chalong?

  12. I´m living in Phuket and checking at the moment the options to put a little bit money on a saving bank account and trying to get the hightest interest as possible.

Siam Commercial giving only 2.4 - 2.7% for 1 year fix.

Can anybody recommend a bank which is paying a higher rate? If possible in the Chalong/Rawai/Kata/Karon area.

    thnks a lot
