I’ve had a Thai Company formation for a number of years and kept the accounts up to date without problems. I’m sure the authorities are keeping an eye on these arrangements and everything I’m seeing in the last few years believes me to think that, intrinsically, the Thai government doesn’t really want farangs here, apart from taking their money. Sorry to be so negative because I really love the life, the people and culture of true Thais.
My advice about setting up a Company is to make sure you know the nominees, make sure they have signed and notarised their documents that will help you, get a reputable lawyer and to keep the accounts up to date. Good luck with your venture and check potential tax on gains before you set out.

Yes I definitely lose weight during my 7 months a year in Thailand. The following reasons;
1. Ambient heat causes a greater amount of water uptake and subsequent less water retention. Heat also reduces need to eat as much.
2. Far less “fatty” foods consumed. Cheese is so expensive and cost inhibits greater consumption. Same argument for bread and butter.
3.Availabilty of very good vegetable based food high in fibre.
4. Last, but not least... more exercise taken

Due to the quite disgraceful behaviour of the owners at Blue Canyon Golf & Country Club Phuket( they raised annual fees by 300%, transfer fees from 140k to 250k and have given no reason and refuse to communicate at all with members), I have decided to look around for somewhere else to live in Thailand.
I would appreciate comments on the quality of golf club life for farangs in Hau Hin and Pattaya. I have already dismissed Chiang Mai due to the field burning each year.

The news is encouraging if true.
Let us hope that the rules of eligibility are firmly set throughout the land and no sway to local districts to change their interpretation.
Not unreasonable for the Thai government to want higher earner/ spenders on long term visas.
I wait with baited breath!!

Just about to go on a short golf trip to Vietnam from Phuket. I have multi entry Thsi visa and up to date UK passport. Would like confirmation that I don't need a Vietnam visa for under 15 day tourist visit.
Deported: African and Vietnamese prostitutes rounded up in Nana sting

I thought prostitution was illegal in Thailand. Very surprised all the prostitutes were not rounded up and sent back to their homes. Maybe tomorrow. Or could there be another reason the police have “comfort” with the situation as it is?
