Absolutely correct.  The average person has no comprehension of the economic devastation lurking on the horizon for the entire world.  The longer this lock down travesty goes the worse it will be.  Entire industries are going to cease to exist.

 

While I agree, less tourists, traffic, etc. are a great thing.  It is also all those tourists that bring the things we miss and patronize into Thailand: an occasional Burger King, Villa Market, english speaking  movies, basically everything Thais have absolutely no use for.  Eliminate tourism and all things western are eliminated as well.  There is simply not enough expat traffic to keep them going.

Whoever agrees to get locked up for 15 days and pay dearly for it must be very desperate to come to Thailand. Why on earth would I do that ? I love Thailand but there are also lots of other nice places to travel. After spending 15 years in Thailand I use this opportunity to explore other countries.  Come back to Thailand only when 15 day quarantine is no longer required.

I am married to a thai, have properties in Phuket and would love to come next months and stay till april, but as long as they demand 15 nights imprisoned  in a hotel room me and my wife won't  come back to Thailand. There are plenty alternatives  to go to...    They must be dreaming. 99% wont come under this conditions.   Instead Corona Check when boarding, corona check when landing and maybe again after 3 days. 15 nights quarantine? Never
