In 2020, I had complied, out of an abundance of caution, with the 3 month "post approval date" requirement for 2019.  I can't recall now if the officer examined my bankbook to check for that.

I am in a somewhat unique position.  My partner is employed in a professional career. For that reason, I have made a decision to comply with this rule in the event that we ever want to move to another province. I don't want to move to another province only to be told that I needed to comply with the "post renewal 3 month requirement" in Surin in the prior year.

For whatever it may be  worth, Surin gave me no notice (either verbal or written)of any "post renewal 3 month requirement" in 2019 or 2020.

In Bangkok they check your bank book prior to granting your extension to make sure you have had the 800,000 3 months after your previous extension was granted and maintained 400,000 minimum after that.

if you are not following these rules I am sure we will be seeing a future post from you about how you were screwed by immigration and looking for sympathy which I assure you is not available here.

Dr Yong explained. “The global population is more than 7 billion. Just 50 per cent of population would need 8 billion vaccines since each person has to take two doses. So it will be impossible to vaccinate everybody within this year.”

Maybe maths aint his strong point. 7 Billion vacines not 8 Billion...

I believe all of the vaccines available currently require 2 shots (doses)spaced a couple weeks apart so his math is probably accurate this time.

A vaccine has to be approved first - none have been approved to date.  Vibhavadi Hospital was ordered to cease advance sales at end of December but believe they have ordered so will likely be one of the first to actually have.  Original order was to be Moderna vaccine but not sure if that was actual order.

Private hospitals have been given the ok to order and the hospital I use has ordered the Pfizer vaccine.

Unfortunately we have low-end falang walking along Pattaya Beach road between 5 pm to 7 pm shirtless, no masks, no social distancing at a time when the beach is most crowded. No cooperation and completely oblivious to their surroundings. The same type of people who intentionally remove or adjust their masks as  soon as theey pass shopping mall security. This behaviour only infuriates Thais and adds fire to the tightening of immigration laws.

Obviously that’s not creating a problem according to the WHO

Nothing new. Most people here would probably agree that if you are rich (the guy in the video says 100 million USD), there are many better options than staying mostly in Thailand.

His target group as he explains in the precursor to most if not all of his videos is 7 to 8 figure net worth people which would be tens of millions on the top end.

     I watch his videos regularly.

That's my game plan anyway. I have never felt vulnerable to Covid and once the herd around me, have been vaccinated  (I don't mean herd in an unkindly way!) I shall feel even less so.

Get this program rolling Anutin, as quick as you like.

As long as you don’t leave the country or plan on flying anywhere that may work for you but airlines are already laying the groundwork for proof of vaccination as I am sure every country will for international travelers.

So what.. why do you expect the Thai government to take care of you. You are not Thai. I don't mind paying a private hospital. Also GF her company is looking into getting the vaccine themselves they are a medical company. I don't see the problem of governments not taking care of non Thais.

We made choices when we came here.. why expect a government to take care of us. If you want that then go back to your home country. There you are being taken care of have more rights.

And this is why I don’t participate in lockdown, quarantine or travel restrictions.

I am taking care of myself. Looks like you are planning on your GF taking care of you.

How do they not pay is what I don't understand.

What do these scum foreigners do just walk out when no ones looking.

Can't pay at hospital, OK phone calls for help, while waiting put in a police cell.

Tourists not expats even though expats end up suffering the consequences.

most if not all of the hospital bills would be for emergency treatment which is given by hospitals in all countries before any consideration for payments.

people coming for elective surgery always prepay and the same for medical tourists.

It's a great idea that should have been done a long time ago.

There's one unintended consequence: some people will assume they are insured so won't bother getting real insurance.

It won't mean that you don't have to pay for treatment.

Actually it will make most feel completely justified in not paying before leaving the country

That's incorrect.  All "public" pools in Chon Buri Province were ordered to be closed as of 31 December.  It is at the discretion of "private pools" (i.e.: Condo pools) to remain open , but my condo, and all the other condos that I am personally aware of, have also closed their pools.

Pool is open at my condo and also the running track. Gym is closed but that just took the people from the treadmills and put them on a now more crowded running track

So not worth to collect points?? for hotels and flights??

Capital one visa from USA has all the points available and I use mine a lot so it has provided a free flight from here to the USA for me on multiple occasions.

also no foreign transaction fees extended warranties on many things I buy .

no annual fees and as long as you pay in full each month no interest charges.
