Bangkokians want next governor to prioritise traffic jams,

    Let's see.

How many cars and motorbikes are currently on the roads?

    +

How many new or used vehicle purchases have there been added to the existing vehicles on the roads in the last year?

    -

How many have been unregistered or left the roads.

    +

How many road widening and other road improvement project are underway?

    +

    How many are planned?

    =

Your answer: It ain't gonna get any better until either the roads get wider, there are less vehicles on the existing roads or both. How likely is that gonna happen. This horse let the barn years ago.

  2. It makes sense how this can happen when you look at the unspoken strategy. Raise prices here then advertise outside the country how 'affordable' BKK is compared to the other cities and folks will think they're getting a bargain. For those who come it's cheaper than London, NYC, Pais, etc. Then slowly continue to raise prices, then build more Icon Siam type locations. The long term effect, gets rid of all the expats who came here to live on fixed income because it was affordable and TAT makes more money on tourism. Hi speed rail to China coming, BTS, MRT extensions all part of the plan. More to come.

Thai University Uniform is the sexiest in the world

Isn't the focus of this article HIGH SCHOOLS? I am bit confused to think the target is university students.

    a) students are over 18

    b) unless they are on scholarship they get a loan, get a job, or their families pay. How many young students work their way through college as a 'model'?? How do you dictate dress under those circumstances?

    c) How do you tell an adult what to wear unless it does not meet university guidelines?

Even Jesuit and faith based universities have strict guidelines that get erased.

I can tell you for sure in the US there are some universities that are considered schools for 'trophy wives'. Yes and the mothers encourage them to attend so they can find 'a rich guy', crazy as it is. I studied with guys who would take a course or two at one of the other campuses in order to find 'a trophy wife'. Crazy but true. So what do university students have to do with this article.

So are the girls believe it or not. One of the main differences, higher intelligence and social pressure influences choice.

Pop quiz, who get's to date the 18 year old, in most cases? A svelte 50 year old with a new Porsche even though he's a jerk, or the 20 year old chubby guy with pimples and a BTS Rabbit card who wears the same clothes most of the time, has no money and is MENSA level intelligence?

Meanwhile, just across the borders, local women in Laos and Myanmar manage to look stunning and sexy in their traditional skirts....

Yep and always remember the brutal regime in one of those countries that won't acknowledge an entire race of people still rules. Do you really think they want to dress this way every day? Girls and women have a brain of their own and get as horny as teenage boys. Why is it people can accept a female animal in 'heat' then deny that women and girls also get aroused?

In cases where drivers are very drunk or injuries are caused three or even four points can be taken away.

Very drunk? Is that different from Kinda or Sorta drunk? You mean the government does not use breathalyzers with an established legal limit? Once again Thailand attempts to position itself as a global player vis-a-vis ASEAN while it maintains an infrastructure that vacillates between third world and banana republic. So if there is a fatality related to drinking and driving what's the penalty? A letter of apology and free tank of gas to the family of the deceased?

the government has been advised to first study the possible negative ramifications carefully

You mean to say not one agency has done an Environmental Impact study or anything remotely close to that to determine how adding two additional hours of mirth with drugs and alcohol will affect things like staffing at hospitals? etc, etc, but then again this is Thailand...

I know the large Japanese community around Phrom Phong is unhappy with it, along with the increase in police harassment in the area recently. Unfortunately both the Japanese government and the South Korean government have cracked down hard on Thai illegals in their own countries in the past few years, so neither of these nationalities are in a particularly strong position to complain about immigration enforcement here.

This situation is really a quagmire. THX
