Everyday there are different stories depending on who grabs the microphone at the photo op. I previously thought of the vaccine program as a 3 ring circus with many incompetent ring masters. Now it is more like a giant carnival fun house maze with smoke, mirrors and many dead end paths. This whole scenario seems like the brain dead plot for a new Thai comedy TV show or movie.

Don't understand why Thailand is so impressed with Favipiravir. Where is the proof that this drug is effective for Covid-19?
The world wide medical community doesn't give much support for the use of this drug for Covid-19 and there are many negative comments about its use. It has many adverse reactions and side effects.

Saving face will cost lives. The people in charge of this public health crisis should take responsibility and resign. Surely there are qualified medical professionals available to take their places.

I would have thought that was up to the hospitals to sort for themselves. And they're going to be way down the queue that the drug companies are selling to for a long time yet.
A recent call to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital resulted in "not available now because the government has not given approval"

Dr. Woraya Leungorn, Director of the General Communicable Diseases Division, said this week that there is currently a limited volume of vaccine available.
A question for Anutin: Whatever happened to your comment "private hospital can acquire and dispense the vaccine"?
A really big thank you to Anutin.

the Peter Principle: every position in a given hierarchy will eventually be filled by employees who are incompetent to fulfill the job duties of their respective positions.

The Covid 19 situation in Thailand would be like watching a really bad Thai comedy show if a few katoeys were included..

It would be much better if it said:

Time to take off your tunnel vision glasses and see the big picture. The problem isn't the asymptomatic and mild cases. being able to cope. The real problem is the older people, those with underlying health conditions and those with weak immune systems who will not be able to cope or maybe not survive.

GREAT, NOT SO MUCH!
It seems that the people in charge miss the point that Thailand has been simply, "extremely lucky" so far. Waves of new outbreaks are still happening around the world. Vaccination does not prevent COVID! It reduces severity and symptoms. If tourists will be coming they can still be infected and spread COVID around Thailand to locals.
So far very few people have been vaccinated in Thailand. Un-vaccinated locals will not have any protection! Some locals can expect full severity if the become infected without being vaccinated. Concept of collateral damage comes to mind.
Nobody knows when the vaccine will be readily available to the locals. A new plan or target is announced every couple of days that usually contradicts previous plans. If tourists arrive before vaccinations then Thailand is likely Fl#ked! But then its all about money. Think of all the money that can be saved if there are fewer older people alive thanks to COVID for the government to support with future health care and old age benefits. Some might consider it a planned cull.

Trying to become Dubai, Singapore or Miami is totally unrealistic. Start with clean sea water, remove garbage and smells, and get rid of the Pattaya and Jomtien Beach Road ghosts. Look and learn from Bali.

The problem is now, not March. Lock down now while there is a chance to control the next wave.
I drove past some bars last night that are popular with farang. They were busy and almost everyone was without a mask. and zero social distancing. Some farang were kissing the bar "workers". <deleted> were those idiots thinking?
Now 90%+ of the local Thais and farang are only wearing masks when they have to go thru a temperature check point.
It is probably hopeless to prevent the big wave because you can't fix stupid!

Fact 1. Brits are no better liked than Americans.
OK, so who likes Brits?
Fact 2. Brits excel at whining (sure you don't mean winning)
I'm sure.
Fact 3. Thai divers were right there with the Brits.
I think it will be validated soon.

Do they have dentists in GB or do they just wait for their teeth to rot and fall out?

I am just glad it turned out to be brits and not from the other side of the atlantic. Not to undermine the US seals or their skill and contribution. I just wouldn't be able to cope with their fearless leader taking personal credit for the rescue.

If it had been the US Navy SEALS, President Bone Spur probably would have claimed that he personally led the diving team and found the children by himself because nobody could keep up with him.

First: Thanks to the Brit divers and ALL of the other divers and helpers for their selfless and heroic efforts.
It was made possible because it was huge TEAM effort!
The Brit divers did not jump up to proclaim themselves as heroes. It was Bangkokjack and the MI6 wannabe crowd on ThaiVisa that want to grab the glory.

Too bad they don't have ambulances and EMS staff stationed at the South Pattaya clinic for quicker response to South Pattaya or Jomtien. That extra drive for them to come from the main BPH to South Pattaya or Jomtien could easily cost lives.

First: Thanks to the Brit divers and ALL of the other divers and helpers for their selfless and heroic efforts.
Second: The article about these Brits on Bangkokjack.com was written by a writter who somehow has portrayed them as the lone heroes to save the day when they were just the lucky ones out of so many other heroic divers to pop up from under the water and to be the first to see the boys. Hate that website for the drivel they spew as news. But I suppose there isn't anything else that can I expect from a Brit with a highly overvalued sense of worth and self importance with 18 books about subjects that most people could care less.

Maybe use these for check in baggage.
The owner should also be placed in the cage for the safety of fellow passengers.
-
Pack it the luggage and stow it as such! Why are they making some rediculous special rules for people that are so immature as to carry a life size doll and call it their child? It is a toy. Maybe Thailand should institute a minimum IQ for people to be allowed to fly.
Stupidity has reached new heights in Thailand.

Tesco Lotus has a price-checking team to ensure that customers are confident that prices are the lowest when they shop at our stores.
If that is true then this "Price-checking team" are doing a poor arse job ... Have they ever checked the prices in Makro ... ?
Tesco Lotus suxx compared to Makro - Even Big C is better than Tesco ...
Prices at Makro are higher and closer to Tesco Lotus than before they were aquired by the SAME company that owns Tesco Lotus. Monopolies are great for the owners but not so good for consumers. The Thai government seems to do nothing to control monopolies.
Since Carrefour is out of the game the only imagined real competitor is Big C and they seem to track with Tesco Lotus rather than compete. Tops and Foodland aren't a threat. More like collusions than competition. Don't expect Thailand to figure it out anytime in the near future.
Actually, CP sold its Tesco Lotus shares in 2003. But Dhanin keeps talking about buying them back. Every couple months or so you will read a story like this:

Does Sophon Cable Tv still have digital channels?

I no longer have digital TV channels. Has Sophon Cable TV discontinued them in South Pattaya and Jomtien?
