  1. I don't think anyone posting here has ever run a successful business on their own. I'm a multi-business owner, and I view the local CM economy as ripe for the pickings. @FarangDanny, hang in there and keep pushing. You're hearing the criticism from the 99% who don't/can't start their own business. Just make it happen.

  2. SiNet is solid. I use it at a coffee shop on SanSai just south of the outer ring. I can assure you the speeds are very fast.

If you're more concerned with speeds outside of Thailand, then it's not so simple. Relying on your ISP for international speeds is tricky. I have a dedicated VPN server in the area I need fast connectivity to, and have no issues at all. VPN is probably your best option if you need reliable international connectivity to somewhere outside of Thailand.

  3. Hello there! I moved to Chiang Mai about 1 month ago. I'm a 36 yr old male who enjoys golfing. Today, I shoot around 100, but after a few more rounds that should get back down to 90 where it belongs, and hopefully lower with enough practice.

I posted here previously looking for a golf buddy, and met another fellow same age and we are golfing routinely. Hoping there are others interested to join us. The more the merrier. I'm from USA and he's from UK, and we're both totally open to meeting people from any corner of the world.

We live near MaeJo and consider that our "home" course, but like to venture out to other courses as well.

Reply or PM me if interested in playing a round! Thank you.

  4. I scoped this place out yesterday. The location is NOT obvious. Many thanks to nivram4491 for providing GPS coordinates. It is due east from Land & House Park. It is not directly off Maejo road.. you need to take a couple back roads east, from the main road.

I've never been to the original, as I am new to Chaing Mai. But this place is a double decker driving range. It seemed to be in good operating condition. I can happily practice here.

They have a 9 hole golf course for 250THB per DAY (not per round), plus 75THB caddie per NINE HOLES round.

    Here's some images to help:

<i'm trying to figure out how to upload images...will update when i do. Admins, please advise?? "My Media" doesn't allow uploads>

All around, for 325THB to play 9 holes including caddie, or 35THB for a tray of 40 grade A practice balls, I find this to be a good place for practicing.

  5. Welcome Dave. Good golf here so shine up those irons. The ChiangMai Social Golfers meet 3x per week for games at Lanna and MaeJo. You would fit right in. Google them as i'm not permitted to offer url here.

Thanks, chingmai331. I found their website and that looks like a great place to start. I appreciate your help.

  6. Hello, I just moved here from the USA. I'm a 36 year old male and I like golfing, usually once per week. I brought my clubs with me so I'd like to maintain my pace. Back in Arizona, I was golfing this frequency and shooting in the low 90's.

We're about to rent a house in the Mae Jo area just north of Chiang mai, but I'm open to playing anywhere in the CM area. If you'd like to go out for a round, please reply or PM me. I'm open minded and looking to meet golf buddies from any/every corner of the world.
