  1. As I regularly travel back to the UK, I have been staying in Thailand on a Multi Entry Non O visa based on marriage for the last few years.

Now that the Thai consulate London does not issue Multiple Non O visas, I have been through the arduous task of the online application for a Single Entry Non O visa based on Marriage.

Apart from being over 50 and having funds, are there any issues changing the Single Entry Non O Marriage visa into a Multi Entry Retirement extension once I am in Thailand?

    many thanks for your help.

  2. I have a Non Immigrant type O multi entry visa, and usually go to Mae Sai or Mae Sot to enter and return on the same day to activate my 90 days.

For a change of scenery, I wondered what other border crossings I could try, and whether I would need any additional information or visas to use them.

For example, If I go to Nong Khai, can I just walk over, have a look round and then return to Thailand as I would at Mae Sai?

    Thanks for any Help.

  3. I paid online via bank transfer last year and copied the transfer page but got no number.

I tried to arrange the appointment but couldn't without the number. I went to my bank and they couldn't give me a number. I logged countless calls with the visa helpline but was told they couldn't do anything without the number. Eventually I just told them to forget it, but was told don't do that as we can see your payment arriving in our account! But they couldn't do anything without the number so we lost the money and didn't visit the U.S.

  4. Have you ever owned Premium Bonds in the UK?

Until recently you would receive reminders to top up to the tax free maximum allowance, but no statement of your current holding. If you went to a post office or called them, all they could do was send you a list of all your certificates, which could be a long list if you reinvest the 'prizes', which you would then have to add up yourself.

The new UK system is not much better, and they cannot supply a 'bank statement' in English, let alone any other language.

I personally am more impressed by the Thai GSB than the UK Premium Bonds.

  5. Ok answered my own question.

There is a Thule dealer on Hang Dong Road about 400m after Tesco on the left heading towards Hang Dong. Big Thule sign. Brochure prices less 5%.

Ordered Tuesday, arrived and fitted today.

  6. Every course I have played at recently is having issues with lack of caddies and the girls not wanting to go out more than once. Gassan and Inthanon are having to restrict numbers due to lack of caddies rather than the courses being full.

If a friends girlfriend is saying work is slow she is probably working some other angle!

As an aside, I played Happy City in Chiang Rai last week, and taking a caddie was not mandatory. Possibly the answer for Chiang Mai.
