  1. From someone with aches and pains my advice is to take up stamp collecting. On a more serious note I think most insurance companies would look at this as a dangerous sport and if they did cover yu the premium would be high. Also there is the fact that most insurance policies here have limitations of coverage i.e. coverage ceilings. I would not want to get into a serious medical situation here even at your young age. Woo the girls drink beer have fun. If your lucky you will fall in love and never leave. P.S. Stay away from bungee jumping.

    lol wut? I'm 42

  2. I didnt know that you could apply for a 3 back to back which may actually be an aswer if I can get it from South Africa

Not sure if you're interpreting "3 back to back" to mean a 3 entry tourist visa. "3 back to back" would mean getting visas three different times, one after the other.

Do you really want to fly to and from South Africa 3 times for double entry visas? The suggestion was that you could travel from Thailand to Laos for double entry tourist visas.

Unless you have plans to go to South Africa and the Philippines for other reasons that frequently, wouldn't it be simpler/cheaper to get at least one or two of them by just doing a quick trip in and out of Thailand for a few days far closer to Thailand?

gotcha, I understand now - well my family live in South Africa and I have to return in 6 months time anyway to sort out some stuff so its fine, future trips back to Thailand I can do the visas in laos.

  3. I doubt there would be a problem with the visa exempt entry at the end of December as long as you already have a confirmed flight leaving Thailand within 30 days.

Some embassies might balk at giving the second double entry visa. I have no idea if South Africa would be difficult. Otherwise, everything looks good.

shit so how do people stay longer if having a 2nd double entry is an issue?

  4. Hello TV,

I was in Thailand for the last 2 months, I didnt apply for a visa before I arrived, I went in and extended my 30 day to 60 days.

I'm currently out of Thailand, about to apply for a double entry 60 day tourist visa from South Africa

(I hold 2 passports, South African and Portuguese)

If planned right, my 180 days (if both 60 days are extended to 90) will end around the 2nd week of December
I have been invited to the phlipines where I believe the visa process is painful in Cebu but Ineed to be in Thailand at the end of December as I am getting visitors coming over for a few weeks before we all return to south africa so I can apply for another visa

I am wondering if the following is possible

Apply for a double entry 60 day entended to 90 x 2 = 180 days, at the end of my visa, go to Philipines for a week then fly back in to Thailand without a visa (I'l get only 30 days) at the end of my 30 days (mid January) return to South Africa to apply for another double?

    Is this at all possible?

    Many thanks

  5. If it is indeed throttling you can get around it by disguising your traffic through a vpn such as HMA or buying a fixed proxy in another country.
You can pick up a proxy or HMA for around $11 a month
You can go the free route and install vidalia bridge and use TOR as a proxy but I don't trust that shit as far as I can spit as you might be open to MIM attacks.

If this suggestion doesnt work then its either the contention ratio that's a problem or just shit internet service.

  6. Hello,
I am currently on a large data package on AIS. I believe its called MaoMao 799 8gb with 4 free (its a data only package as I don't do voice calls at all, only voip)

Its a bit much for me actually and has now expired.

Does anyone know of any smaller packages than this one and how to deactivate the current one and activate the smaller one?

  7. Many thanks for the quick response guys, I have already extended my visa at immigration for another 30 days so I have to leave now in June - what exactly is a double entry Visa?

Do I need to leave the country during the 60 (90) days? or will I be able to stay on in the country , extend to 90 days and not leave until my 90 days is up?

  8. My current visa expires on the 7th of June.
So I will need to be out of the country that day and return a few days later and am considering a run to Vientiane, apply for a 60 day multiple entry Tourist Visa there and return back.

I believe the process takes about 2 days, so maximum I would be staying in Vientiane is 3 nights.

The cheapest possible route I have found is to go by plane to Udon Thani for around 1000 Baht, then minibus to the border for 200 baht then

bus over the border for 15 baht then from the other side to Vientiane for 300 baht ( per person) by shared taxi.

My question is in 2 parts.

    A. Is this a viable route? or there another way I can go and apply for a visa from Bangkok, any other country?

    B. If this is the best option for me, is there anyone here looking to do the same trip around the same time, willing to do it with me and share any shareable costs?
