  1. To the OP:  It is an amateurish system, not at all user friendly.  Probably nothing you did, or didn't do.

I did my first 90 report online in 2018 with no problems and wondered why there were so many issues reported here on ThaiVisa.  I felt so smug that I didn't ever have to go to the local Khon Kaen immigration office which, at that time, was on the other side of town and very small and crowded.

In the meantime, I have used online systems from 2 brokerage firms in the USA, 2 banks (Thai and US), multiple airlines, Food Panda, Grab, online East Bay Times, PEA, PWA, internet service provider, register and record TM30, and retrieved my previous 90 day report in the system.  I think I know how to fill out a form and use a real online system.

Now, for the second time, I have been in Thailand for 90+ continuous days.  I just spent a week trying to do my 90 report online.  On Friday, I gave up.  Luckily, I am only a 5 minute drive from the new Khon Kaen immigration office.  There were no customers waiting and it took the IO about 50 seconds to scan my passport, print the new report and neatly staple it into my passport.  The only document I needed was the pre-filled TM47.

None of the many suggestions I found here applied to my situation.  My final conclusion (not substantiated) is that because Khon Kaen immigration re-set my 90 day due date (TM6:arrival 12Feb20 = 11May20  reset to 16Jun)  when I went in to renew my extension of stay on 19Mar the new date was now out of sync with the TM6.  Of course, on one of my many tries, I did use the new date in the arrival date field but that also did not work.  This answer probably does not apply to many people since I think that Khon Kaen is an outlier in resetting the 90 day on extension renewals after the first time.

The point is that the 90 day system is not a robust system that can handle any variables and has few relevant error reports.  Is the system down?  Is the TM6  # out of sync with the arrival date?  Is the data entry date too soon?  Too Late?  Is the TM6 # out of sync with the passport #? With the last name?  And to top if off, the User Guide they make available on the first screen is in Thai for a system to be used by alien visitors!

    End of Rant....

  2. What am I doing wrong for 90 day report online?

    Here is my story.

Latest arrival from US:  12 Feb 2020

Next 90 report date as calculated by me:   11 May 2020

My 1 year retirement extension expires:    17 Apr 2020

Khon Kaen Immigration for 3rd 1 year retirement extension:  19 Mar 2020 (extended to 17 Apr 2021)

Khon Kaen immigration staples notice of 90 day "Notify again on" stamped in red:  16 Jun 2020

This is contrary to ThaiVisa Common Wisdom that a 3rd extension would not reset the 90 days from latest arrival.

Just in case, I tried online 90 day on 01 May 2020.  Didn't work, so I assumed the new date was 16 Jun as stamped by KK immigration.

Since 02 Jun, I have tried online web many times but cannot get past the first page.  I also tried the Android ap on my phone and it just says "Loading" and then  "Can't connect".  I have tried all the tricks like "refreshing" the first page, deleting the cache, using Edge instead of Chrome, etc.  No luck.

Because of frequent travels, I have only done the 90 day report once, in August 2018.  I did that online with no problems.  Nothing has changed except my TM6 from Feb 2020.  I was able to find the 2018 record online earlier this week but this morning (05 Jun) I can't even access that previous record.

Any other suggestions?  I know about the amnesty to these reports until 31 July but I would prefer to keep the original dates.  If they can't keep this online system working,  just imagine how they will manage all the reports due on or after 31 July!

Now, what do I need to take to Khon Kaen Immigration to do this in person...

  3. My PEA bill in Khon Kaen which I received on 20 April is still not in the system as of 26 April.

I can't see my bill in the PEA Smart Plus app which I have been using for about 3 years and I can't access it using the Counter Pay App which I have been using to actually pay the bills using my US credit card.  I know the Counter Pay App is working because I just used it to pay my mother-in-law's PEA bill from her village near Khon Kaen.

Anyone know if the PEA office in Central Plaza is open during the lockdown?  I am afraid if I don't pay by the due date (30 April) I won't be able to pay next month on-line.  At least I know that is how the water bill works after we paid late one month.

  4. I had the same problem yesterday with the "Register at" box.  Then I double checked my postal code and realized I had left off the last "0".  Once I fixed that, the box populated. (I used the web based registration because I don't know how to attach files using the app version...)

Data point:  I received the "confirm" email immediately at 12:10. Replied. Received my username and password at 12:12.  Tried the android app and everything seemed to be working. It even read the data from my passport so I think I am ready to submit my TM30 when I return from my upcoming trip.

This is Khon Kaen immigration office.

  5. My last retirement extension was March 17 in Khon Kaen using the 800,00 in-the-bank method.  Entire visit was 20 minutes for extension and multi-reentry permit.  No mention of having to leave the money in the bank and no mention of TM30 even though I had 3 trips to the USA during the past year.

My question:  If they start to require the TM30, will they fine for each time it wasn't filed or only for the most recent occurrence?

  6. My husband has his B1 interview next week.  Does he need to have supporting Thai documents (home ownership, etc) translated?

He has was denied a tourist visa 5 years ago but came to the US on a fiance visa last year.  We are now living full time in Thailand andjust want to visit my family in the US.

  7. I used the income method with a letter from the US embassy for my Non O visa in Khon Kaen last month.  They kept the original letter with the impressed seal.  Will I need another original letter for the first 1 year extension next month or will they accept a copy?  BTW, Khon Kaen also required my last 6 months statements of my US bank account showing deposits of my pension income.  At their suggestion, I used printouts of statements from on-line access to the account.

  8. I have read the very helpful post about obtaining a tourist visa for a Thai citizen.

I am an American who would like to visit Australia for about 2 weeks with my Thai friend. I will meet him in Thailand and then we would travel to Australia together.

    1. Can I "sponsor" him or can only an Australian citizen sponsor a tourist? He would be staying with me for the whole trip and we would both be traveling on the same airline reservation.

    2. We have know each other for about 5 years and have traveled to other ASEAN countries that did not require a visa. (Hong Kong, Bali, Laos, Singapore)

    3. Is the 10 day processing time reliable? I know I should not buy airline tickets before obtaining the visa but I only plan to be in Thailand for about 2 weeks before going on to Australia and I would like to be in Bangkok when the application is submitted. If I wait for the visa, we would only have about a day or two to make travel arrangements and flights might not be available.

I am wary because he was turned down for a USA tourist visa a couple of years ago. They assure that every one wants to stay in the US forever and won't return home! I hope Australia is a little more reasonable.

    Thank you for any insight.
