  1. Trump was elected. His history is more business related. Who knows, maybe it ill be better then a politician. We have been put into trillions of dollars of debt by "politicians" so maybe it might make a difference. In the past some "business " related individuals have surprised many at their performance( some have not).....Arnold as governor,Reagan as governor and first term as President,Ventura as governor.......so maybe Trump with be up to the task. Only time will tell.He won so now he should have his chance to prove if he is any different the the career politicians we have had before. Enough people felt it worth a try to give him a chance......

  2. I carry a hand taser. Whenever I walk my dog and we are charged, which used to be quite frequent I would just push the taser button and it stops the dogs immediately. They do not like the sound of it. At night it is even more effective as the bright flash adds to it. ...I have never had to use it other then just the sound......After a month of this none of the dogs on my walk ever get near us anymore.

  3. Interesting points in this story are that the Hawaiian legislation was passed several years ago , and uses the rules to not allow workers ashore . There is a copy of the law online makes an interesting read. It also brings to light that under "U.S." law this form of servitude was made legal by the local government and enforced by federal officers(Coast Guard) with full knowledge of the conditions. So based upon information that has come to light for all to read , sad to say but the U.S. is also involved in a legal form of what could be termed "slavery". Hawaii was given the right to govern it's own fishing industry and apparently has taken advantage of workers for many years. But as the majority are "foreign"...Malaysian,Indonesian , etc.....n one really cared about what was going on. Especially the captains and the seafood industry

  4. When I was 46 I moved to China.Arriving in China my weight was 80kg.......due to my work schedule and position, constant entertaining....over the next 13 years I reached 148 kg.....Three years ago I retired , came to Thailand and decided to get back in shape. Changed food intake, very little alcohol ( only social), no breads  , no sweets- eat when hungry -moderate amount (although the occasional indulgence is ok)...I would lift weights three days a week, run (which started as a walk) usually four days a week....current weight is at 92kg........goal is to reach 180 and hold....I am 64 now

  5. In discussing the corruption and the possibility of an examination of assets of individuals in the Land Office Thailand, they should also include a close look at the at the monies of the current senior administration and it's true origin....it is amazing that senior "government" members have the ability to amass what would be considered extreme wealth when receiving the amount of pay during their working career. Maybe they should "all" become financial managers for their seemingly astute financial management which has enabled them to amass millions and in some cases billions of baht , all while receiving salaries that would amount to around 45,000 U.S per year (on the high side)

  6. I do find it interesting they keep saying "spreading false information" while never disclosing "any" of the supposed false information statements.Even the students activists arrested were accused of spreading false information-with no government explanation of what the "supposed" false information was..While government officials say it(referendum) is "good" for the country......could they also be accused of spreading "false" information?

  7. Some people complain about using an agent , but I prefer to do it that way. I have lived in several countries and I have always found it far more convenient to use agents then do it myself.I n my area , Chiang Mai the agents charge 5000 baht per year for four extensions and one yearly retirement...plus government fees. I find that reasonable in relation to the hassle of going there and standing in lines. I did do it myself once. I arrived at the Chiang Mai immigration near the airport at 2 am and even then was only number six in line. It was 4:30 in the afternoon before I walked out of that office with everything done. After that I have used agents for everything.

  8. I have owned property in a couple of countries....Mexico,China,U.S. (under their ownership rules). After moving to Thailand I have talked to several condo owners about their buildings and with what I have learned I would not buy a condo in Thailand. As stated by others it seems very few put any effort into maintaining the premises to any degree of competence. There are some good ones........but I have found those are in the higher dollar ranges.....meaning multiples of millions...

  9. There are several new types of waste operations that are semi portable and dispose of the garbage in a completely environmentally friendly way. I have personally seen these operating in Holland, and Germany. I was involved in the installation of two in China. They can operate next to residential areas ,produce either electricity or methane gas-subject to the type chosen and do not produce any environmental pollutants, zero emissions and are very economical to purchase......I do not understand why Thailand does not install one or two at this site to correct the problem
