  1. I've booked an appointment at Trendy Building to submit my wife's UK visitor visa application. I've decided to pay for the "Document Scanning Assistance service". The appointment is for 1400, so normally we would be there for 1345. Does anyone know if we need to get there earlier if we're using the scanning service, or do we arrive at the normal time, with the documents in hand and ready to be scanned?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I am seconding that ( from experience )

    Do not waste time

Register , answer the little questions, do not bother trying to explain your situation as they just want the documents cited above

I re-registered with a different email account and got a confirmation straight away. My new worry is about the question on the form about how many days you're spending in Thailand. I have a visa that runs to the 18th Jan, so do I put 71 days? Also with the new form you can only put one document up!

We are also flying on 8th.

I applied for CoE and was rejected as all travel from 8th requires Thailand Pass (CoE are not being issued for travel from 8th).

Thus: Thailand Pass ( a complete shambles at the moment ) - Thailand Pass does not require your Visa information - just your basic information and a bookings:

    Documents required:

    1) Passport Copy

    2) Vaccine Certificate

    3) AQ Hotel Booking

    4) Insurance Certificate

Advice: Do not register with a Hotmail account.

The Thailand pass is incredibly buggy - we have had to submit a couple of applications as we received no confirmation or registration e-mail (when registering with hotmail - G-mail / yahoo mail ok).

Cheers for your comments. Still waiting to hear from the Embassy. I did the Thailand Pass and registered with my Hotmail. Can I get back in to change it or can I redo it all again. I fly on Monday!!

  4. Flew to the UK on Oct 18th and due to fly back to BKK on the 8th Nov. Started COE in Thailand and started to complete it once the 1 Day quarantine was announced (yes, leaving it a bit tight, but I wanted to be sure about the quarantine requirements.) Made a mistake on the BKK hotel date, so they sent the COE back. I re-booked the hotel, signed into my COE, corrected some details on the Personal Details section, pressed Save and it automatically saved and submitted, before I could correct and update my hotel information. Now I'm waiting for the Embassy to send it back to me to correct again! All this happened on Monday. I heard nothing yesterday and nothing so far today (Wed). I fly on Monday!! Tried to phone the Embassy, but was kept on hold for ages and ultimately could speak to anyone.

I looked at the Thailand Pass site and completed the form as a back-up. The problem with this system is that I seem to fall between the cracks, as I couldn't upload my visa page or elaborate in any way on my 'long-term' status in Thailand. It asks, how many days are you staying and nothing about me being on a 're-entry' visa.

    Any views and ideas?

    Getting a bit stressed!!

I hope to travel via Dubai shortly with Emirates and I am following information from these sites:

The one answer I can't get a solid reply to is the Covid-19 vaccine document that is acceptable to both Emirates and UK immigration.  Emirates do not require Covid PCR test if you have a vaccine 'passport' and are travelling to the UK.

Vaccine wise I'm taking a printed copy (mor phrom), one on my phone and the App based one!

Which test do we need on arrival? Is it a day 2 test?

Are you completing a Locator Form (48 hrs before arrival)?

  6. I'm travelling to the UK on Monday (vis Dubai).

I've had two Phizer jabs (the second one was 16 days ago). I have a certificate on my phone from Mor Phrom, giving all the details of my jabs. Thailand is now not on the Red List.

Do I need to do a PCR test before I go? (Don't think I do!)

Do I need to complete a Locator Form before leaving Thailand?

Do I need to do any tests on arriving in the UK?

Do we still need to complete a COE (Certificate of Entry) form while in the UK and submit it to the Thai Embassy in London?

No days quarantine on arrival back in Thailand!!!! (14...........7.............0.............?)

Need to visit the UK, but it's going to be quite an adventure!

  7. I live and work in Thailand with a visa based on marriage. I usually submit my renewal application in late November (the process takes months). I am going to the UK soon and was wondering if I was able to renew my visa (based on marriage) at the Thai Embassy in London. I had heard that the Embassy requires a lot less paperwork than I usually need to provide at my local immigration office. Any feedback would be appreciated.

  8. I live in Nakhon Si Thammarat and have just under 10 rai of palm trees. Some trees are quite young and are only starting to bare fruit, while others are 'middle aged' and producing alot. Our monthly harvest can range from about 1 tonne every 21 days (Feb/March) to 3+ tonnes in August/ September. We cut and take our iwn paln fruit to the weigh station and so get the full price. If you talk to the weigh station they may offer a service to do everything for you. Here they charge you by the tonne that they cut and move.

  9. I need to renew my daughters UK passport. Her present one is a childs, but her new one will be an adult passport. We live in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Do I need to hand-in the appilcation to VFS or can it be posted? Now for another stupid question! Can the new appication be submitted after the present passport has expired? The present passport expires in Oct, so we were planning to come up to BKK then and combine it with other things we need to do, but with the changes to the school year the hols won't be until Nov. I'm just trying to avoid extra flights!! By the way, she is dual nationality and has both Thai and UK passports.

    Thanks ahead for any replies.

  10. I've been in Thailand for seventeen years, married to my Thai wife for sixteen years and have a fifteen year old daughter, who holds Thai and UK passports. I have a work permit and my visa extension is based on marriage. This extension works fine, but prepping all the documents (which change on a yearly basis), submitting the application and then waiting for a month for the decision to come back from Hat Yai is a bore. Can't retire yet, so need to keep the work permit. Question!! Are there any other visa extension options? Is a visa based on dependence a possibility?

  11. Thanks for your reply. Yes I understand that I'm just changing the reason for my extension of stay. I'm just a bit nervous about changing my visa first (to a marriage based one and depriving someone of their tea money) and then going on to get my WP. I have a life here with my wife, daughter, teaching, farm etc.... The Visa/WP time of year always gets a bit stressful! Have a good festive season.

  12. I've lived and worked as a teacher in Thailand for fifteen years. I've also been married to a Thai for fourteen of those years. Due to paperwork issues (lack of a BA), my job title was changed by the Labour Office and they were happy to issue me with a WP and the Immigration were happy to issue me with a visa based on this new job position. This went on for four years. Last year Immigration said that they wouldn't honour this WP, offered me a 'special' visa for 9000 baht!! This year I plan to change my visa to a marriage based one (I have the documents and the money in the bank) and then go to the Labour Office, with the school's documents and apply for a new WP. Does this make sense? Feedback appreciated.
