  1. Hi Everyone, I am desperately looking to upgrade my Home server memory RAM, (HP proliant ml110-g7), and I have no idea where to purchase Locally.

PS: In Pantip Plaza I had to explain to the shop clerk the difference between ECC/ non ECC buffered/unbuffered memory as they were trying to sell me the normal DDR 3 RAM. So I was wondering if there is anywhere trusted where they actually know things rather than just try selling anything.

    Many thanks to all

    Dan

  2. I can't belive how this new website transition got so wrong. It take so much for earning a good bunch of loyal users but not so much to loose them.

ADMINISTRATORS SHOULD LISTEN TO OUR VOICE....! WE ARE ASKING FOR THE CLASSIFIED SECTION BACK ONLINE....! NO MATTER HOW BROKEN WAS THE OLD ONE...AT LEAST WE COULD USE IT.....AND...AS SOMEONE ELSE POINTED RIGHTLY IN THIS POST, YOU SHOULD REPLACE AN IMPORTANT SECTION OF THE WEBSITE  ONCE THE NEW SECTION IS READY.

DOCTORS REPLACE AN IMPORTANT ORGAN ON A HUMAN BODY "ONCE THEY GOT" THE REPLACEMENT ON HAND. IMMAGINE AN HEART TRANSPLANT OPERATION IN WHICH THE SURGEON PLACES THE PATIENT ON AN INDUCED COMA WHILE WAITING FOR THE NEW ORGAN TO BE DONATED.

While the above example might be a bit "extreme", I wanted to point out how important for us as your loyal users is, (perhaps was because some of are looking for alternatives), the classified section of your web site.

Come on.....show us you can do better, we have trusted all along..!

  3. +1

Even on prime brand tablet I reckon than you won't get the same battery life as with an iPad (and I'm known to be an Apple-basher).

On the other hand, unless you're really wealthy, giving tablets that cost as much as high-end iPads to kids who will break them over and over sounds a bit pointless to me. For the price of these two iPads you can buy half a dozen middle-range Android tablets and big power banks.

    Make sense......and...add gorilla glass..:)

  4. Still not so good I guess. While there are lots of different tablets and specs to choose from, ipads batteries normally last longer than any other tablet I have tested myself. I have a Samsung tab 3, a Samsung note 10.1 and they both don't last very much. I have also had 2 lenovo tablets and this were a bit better, still there is loads of bloatware in all this machines that keep the OS busy, hence the battery drain.

  5. Anyone can point me to a good, reliable and not hugely expensive agency were they can take care of criminal record check?

I know this has to be done in Bangkok but I prefer not to go all the way there and waste a couple of days dealing with various offices. I was told that can be done via agency.

    Thanks all

  6. The ardware has nothing to do with the windows license, you are free to replace which ever part you want.

Once you replace the OS as you are not longer using Windows but Linux which is free and open source you have no ties to worry about.

Not quite true about replacing and or upgrading parts it depends on the version of windows and if its an OEM version.

I have been swapping around and replacing parts since XP was around and I have never had an issue. OEM again is not an issue, as long as you have the right driver according with the hardware you are installing your machine is fine. As I understand, the topic here is different, not being detected is one specific thing, I was only pointing to the fact that the machine will work just as fine if you replace internal parts or its OS.

On another note, unless you are planning to take done the ISS from space with that computer I doubt that Microsoft will care of pinging your Network Card and checking you up, with billions of PC in use everyday it would be quite a task for them and not a really rewarding one.

  7. All routers will heat up, if you are on ADSL and want to invest I suggest an AC 1200 at least. These routers are dual band ,(2.4 / 5), so that if any devices are in the 2.4 MHz frequency, (cordless phone, microwave, wireles mouse, wireless keyboard etc, the router will automatically switch your heavy traffic such as streaming into the 5 MHz band. If you have new devices such as latest mobile phone and laptop, then you are fine as they are all compatible with these new routers.

  8. Unfortunately you will not be able to replace the battery ad this will involve you breaking apart the tablet to discover that most surely it is glued to the chassis and soldered in a way that it would make it a tedious job. A power pack is a good idea, choose one that can handle 2.1 amps (power out), so that can charge quick.

  10. Hi everyone,

I have a non o 1 year marriage visa and I am just about to end my first 90 days slot. I was thinking of going out at Mae Sai and come back in the same day, (run).....my question is:

    • Am I going to get a 90 days entry?

I mean as if I would fly abroad and come back at BKK airport?

I was reading this forum and see that there is a mix of different reports. Some says that Mae Sai is not allowing Visa run anymore while some other says they just did one.

    Thanks everyone in advance

with a valid one year multiple entry visa you will have no problem, at any border, to do a quick IN/OUT.

That's great to hear that, thanks a lot for the prompt response.

  12. I am running Ubuntu on my machine and never wanted to go back to windows, however, in some cases, when in need to test some windows only software I do run XP or 7 on Virtual Box.

Ubuntu can be tested on a DVD or USB stick, then installed to your main Hard drive.

During the installation process Ubuntu will ask you if you want to wipe the disk and install Ubuntu as sole operating system or if you want to install it alongside your current OS.

If you pick the later option, Ubuntu will install itself in a portion of your main hard drive or in a different partition of your choice, then it will modify the master boot record in order to add itself to the boot process.

Once you have finished the installation and restart the machine you will be asked first thing which operation system to run, (no need to press special keys on keyboard, just scroll down with the arrow to your selected OS and Press enter).

Please remember that the Best option still remains the one of running Ubuntu from USB or in Virtualization as they are more stable and overall secure for your system.

  13. I use libre office as I have Ubuntu Linux installed on my Laptop instead of Windows.

Libre is a great choice, perhaps not as advanced as the latest MS office, however, unless one's require specific features, Libre can cope with everyday office basic wordprocessing and scheduling.

  14. Some programs keep important files in there, surprisingly. If you are interested in freeing some space I'd advise to only delete the files excluding those that were created in the last 24h or so, or the ones you know for sure aren't used by other programs, such as old installers from software you downloaded, etc. You can use software such as CCleaner to do that.
