I dont want to go through any hotel agents.

  2. No, the double tourist visa will give you 180 days, not 5 months. The three month validity means you have to activate the visa's within a time period of 3 months. The first day you activate the first visa and get 60 days. This you can extend with 30 days at an immigration office. After that you have to leave the country and can come right back in to activate the second visa. This is another 60 days, which you can extend again with 30 days. Extension cost 1,900 baht.

do they issue multi entry marriage visa in vientiane,Laos ?

  3. Hi all

can any one advise me on the penang visa run (flying) offered by thaivisa and what documents i would need.

    Here is my story.

Married to thai in australia so certificate is in english.

I have had an o multi before but has expired this was obtained in aus before i moved here.

Iwork offshore so income is not a problem do i have to show income ? and if so are print outs ok to show or do they have to be certified.

My wages go into my wifes thai account is this proof or do i need it to go into an account in my name?

    Any advise would be appreciated

    Cheers

  4. could anyone help or advise me please.

my son will be living with us in Amnatcheon next year.

i would like to home educate with the assistance from some form of correspondence school. can anyone point me in the right direction.

    cheers

  5. I think regardless of the number times,

They will look to the earliest entree stamp,

    within the last 90 days.

    and use that.

Of course this will REALLY cause immigration slowdowns

as they jot down stamps on various pages trying to find

your LAST 6 MONTHS of Thai visa history.

    my bets/predictions:

i think they will selectively enforce the rules, based on whether they think you're using the 30-day free entry repeatedly to "live" in thailand indefinitely.

after the 1st week or so, they won't even look at the passports of people who fly into thailand from overseas...

they'll just check on people coming in over land or flying in from the less expensive asian countries.

and even then, i don't think they'll bother counting days unless something looks suspicious... if you have 19 stamps for thailand, well, then expect them to scrutinize the passport and count the days, and enforce the rule. but if you have 4, they'll probably just stamp your 30-day entry and take the next visitor.

they'll always have the option enforce the rules, but they won't spend time trying to enforce it unless they suspect you're abusing their guest system to live in thailand.

    good for them.

:o So if you have 2 passports oyu can go out on one and then come back on the other is this ok

  6. 1. If you have a single entry non-immigrant "O" visa or an extension of stay, then you need to obtain a reentry permit before you leave.

    2. If your wife is the mother of your 12 year old son, then suggest that your son apply for a Thai passport at one of the passport offices. He should use it when entering Thailand. Else, suggest that your son apply for an non-immigrant "ED" visa overseas or an extension based on education.

    cheers for the info

  7. some advise please

    1) if you have an o- visa and then you go offshore on an oil rig with a company that sponsers you for a 6 week job when you return is you o-visa voided?

    2) can my thai wife sponsor my son that holds a aussie passport. behind this ? is how do i keep my 12 year old in the country so he can go to school.

    background

i will be working for rig diving companies and they sponsor me for six weeks at a time and when i come back to shore we are stamped with tourist visa. with the new visa stuff going on will this mean i can only do this 3 times.

    hope you can help

  10. Hi - now i aint no farmer - and i live in the UK... so this is my suggestion - goto the issan forum and have a look through each of the farming related topics, you will find stuff on rubber, sugar-cane, palm oil, peanuts, fish farming, pig farming, beef and dairy cattle, irrigating the land, bore holes and water pumps, vetinary costs.... the list goes on

In the thread that I posted earlier about "farming issan land" there were a few replies from "random chances" - he is one of the best sources of advice particularly when it comes to cattle - although he looks after dairy i believe he has good all round advice about beef cattle farming... there are lots of other chaps that have knowledge on issan  farming so its probably worth emailing/PM them for their advice - 250 rai isnt a small area and will take some considerable investment, planning and maintainence - I would think!

The question that springs to mind for me is - are you doing this to make a living or just keep you ticking over - almost as a paid hobby...?

and when you say "we" - what do you mean, are you married to a thai, if so will her family be involved in taking care of this venture?

    cheers

yes iam married to a thai and yes the fam will take care of the farm with our firm hand

  11. this is pretty much the same question i asked for my first post to the forum - ill try and dig it out for you to read... but in short dont bother with eucs was the bottom line - very distructive plant that ruins the soil for future crops of anything else.

found it - take a read through this little lot - will hopefully answer some of your questions.

    thanks for the quick reply

the info is good. we are still living in darwin australia.

the land we have is not to good for rice so we thought uc would be hassle free or would we get better return on rubber.

we have about 250 rai to play with or do u have a better idea.

its not to bad for beef cattle just woner if this would be risky
