Still digesting this, it really just clarifies some limits imposed on 16 June, and adds a few more.

Will need some clarification on things like...

license to sell, is this the same requirement as before, or a new licenses/process?

"distribution via electronic channels or computer networks" - would seem to ban all online sales and marketing

This would seem to be Anutin/BJTs answer to opponents?

License to sell? That's a joke. I know people selling that have no license and just pass the brown envelope to you kow who. The authorities are the big winners here and have found a pot of gold.

  2. You can imagine just before the coup in 2006 the economy and Gov. was a mess which is why the coup took place. Too much fighting between the parties and too much corruption with very little being accomplished. Fast forward to 2014 and the stock market had rocketed up with the rest of the world markets but reached a peak by the end of 2013. Since then positive things have happened with the booming tourism growth in regards to controlling the beach and road encroachments but the stock market has stalled. Not much in the way of economic growth or improvement in the standard of living for the poor to average citizen. Time is ripe for a change.                                                                                                                                                                                If compared prior to 2014 say in the 90's there is a major change in the way foreigners are perceived in respect of being a valuable asset. Back then most Thai people welcomed foreigners in every shape and form. Today a lot of Thais have forgotten just how much they have benefitted from the foreign currency that has been brought into the country and take foreigners for granted with many Thai's even thinking that they're better off without them it seems. Maybe when this pandemic comes to an end or acceptance and the foreign tourism numbers start to return to the time before it began and Thai return to their former jobs things will improve in attitudes towards foreigners at least for a while anyway.

In the last weeks I saw several opportunities especially for people over 70.

He could get vaccinated in Thailand if he wants to and if he follows the news.

I also know a couple of older people who complain they didn't get vaccinated until now. I sent them messages with details where they could register and get vaccinated.

And then when I ask them I get answer like: I only want xyz vaccine and not any other. Or: Maybe another day. Lots of excuses. Don't blame the Thai government when YOU don't take the opportunities which are offered to you.

and who wants to get vaccinated with Sino-Vac when it's not very effective if at all against the Delta- variant that's spreading across the country.

Imagine every country in this world would supply vaccines to all their citizens which are in other countries in this world. That would be a lot of vaccines flying around the globe. And for what? Most (all?) countries work on the vaccination of all the people in their individual countries. It just takes some time.

As far as I see there is no foreigner in Thailand who didn't voluntarily come to Thailand, maybe except from prisoners. Many foreigners are in Thailand because they enjoy that Thailand is different from home. But then some complain that x and y and z is not like home. Make up your mind! What do you want? Thailand with all the good and all the bad? Or only those parts of Thailand which you like and otherwise your home country should take care of you. Really?

What you are forgetting is that Nationals abroad still pay taxes and in some cases more than the citizens back home in their own respective countries and so should receive something in return for those taxes paid and not be left behind or left to the mercy of foreign Governments regardless of their choice to live there.

Some are so selfish they think it is a joke and don't want to follow the rules and believe they should not be required to wear a mask.

I like it.  Would like to see even higher fines.

They should put undercover cops at the malls, Foodland and Makro make a fortune.

How about the Gov. Hospital's? Patients standing and sitting shoulder to shoulder. Clearly the rules do not matter depending on where you are and the uneven application of the law makes it a mockery.

Thank you , can i assume that you have done it and are you in your 80's as i am.

All that's necessary is to cross the border out of Thailand cancelling your Non-O-A and re-entering on a visa exempt and re-applying the next day or within 30 days for a Non-O. Of course you can't do it right now because of Covid but will be able to once again when things get back to normal.

Don't think anyone can feel at Home in a Country where there's Dual pricing, 90 day reporting and the Visa rules change so

often they don't know if they will get a Visa next time around.

I remember back in the nineties I could only get a single entry visa and had to go to Penang to apply for a new visa. Then I got a dual entry visa which meant I could walk across the border into Malaysia then turn around and come back into Thailand and good for another 3 months. Then a multiple entry visa which meant I could do the same 3 times before having to apply for a new visa. Now it's a 1 year visa since I am more than 50 years of age and is renewable within the country. Much easier now than before. I will say however that I hate the 90 day reporting and feel it is not necessary but not a big deal now that you can do it online.

Sounds the same as many other countries where expats go to live. Dual pricing is everywhere even in my home country. Try Vietnam one of the countries flaunted as a better alternative for Thailand for it's recent changes for a visa that only allow you to stay up to 3 months and then you have to leave as opposed to Thailand's 1 year Non-O visa that is renewable without leaving the country.                                               While Vietnam does not have a retirement visa, there are several options for individuals who want to retire in Vietnam. Americans can apply for a visa to Vietnam through any Vietnamese embassy and will be approved for either six months or one year but can only stay in the country for three months at a time.

Lol. I'm talking about safety in general. Not comparing road accident statistics. Try going outside the tourist areas in other popular countries for example, Rio, Cuenza etc. Ecuador's crime rate is very high. Drug trafficking, violent attacks, petty theft, and scams occur pretty much every day. On top of that, there's a high risk of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis. Unfortunately, the Rio crime rate is fairly high. Violent crime is a “frequent occurrence,” according to the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), while street crimes such as pickpocketing and purse snatching are “a constant concern,” happening all over Rio at all times of year.Mar 5, 2563 BE

Both violent and non-violent crime are common throughout Mexico state. Use caution in areas outside of the frequented tourist areas, although petty crime occurs frequently in tourist areas as well.
