What a simple task it would be for the Police to be near the bus station at 4pm-after school -  and stop all the kids without helmets being worn, fine them and confiscate the bikes for 1 week. ....

They do that in Punnawithi area in Bangkok in my SOI. Not near the school but on the way where all the kids have to go home. 3-4 policy cars come and close the road every month once.

There's a small truck with them that carries the motorbikes home.

The advice that you can get a 30 day extension in country is incorrect.  It may be possible but improbable, you are most likely to get an additional 7 days.  I know this from first hand experience.

Not sure what was your case but your are wrong, basically. The first extension will be 30 days. If one already used this up then the next one will be only 7 days.

So, coming in to Thailand on visa exempt (or any other means) for 30 means that one can get another 30 days inside Thailand, and another 7 on top.its 67 days.

Every extension will be 1900 baht, also the 7day one

  3. Usually the questions start after 2 to 3 exempt entries back to back.

There was a time last year when it was impossible to do it anymore but this time is over, thank God.

I successfully got my 4.th back to back exempt yesterday in Don Mueang airport from Malaysia. I just went there by plane in the morning and went back some hours later.

There immigration woman on counter asked me what I do here, I answered honestly (getting married but waiting 6 to 8 weeks for legalisation of documents the second time, since they told us wrong documents first time at my embassy) and she let me through.

Last year when doing this, also the 4.th time in row) the woman said I have to explain to the supervisor, she cannot let me in but the officer let me in after showing him Western Union Bank statements, since my family send me money from my account in Germany through Western Union.

All in all I'm in Thailand since nearly 2 years (in March it will be 2 years) without a visa. But I went to Germany for 3 months in this period.

So you see it's possible but you have to have a reason ready when you get questioned by immigration

  4. There a really cheap one but its a bit outside of sukumvit. But not far, you just have to use the MRT for a few stations, i did that every day when i was living there and it really didnt bother me since its only a 10 minute trip to Sukumvit. Area is in Huay Kwang, the Hotel name is Palm Suites Hotel/Apartment and the monthly rate is 4500 Baht / Month or 700 baht per night.

The rooms are clean and everything is working as intended, you have aircon and TV and Balcony. There are very friendly staff, after 2 months there it was same like family. Everyone helps each other.

  5. So I'm back in Thailand thank God.

This time I really had a little bit hard time....

Just for the ones not read about it, I'm in Thailand now for 7 months on visa exempts and extensions of them in immigration.

Usually I either do a border run or fly out/in. But this time I got questioned in Don Mueang upon arrival from KL.

The women on counter didn't want to let me back in, asked her colleagues who couldn't help her. In the end I ended up in the office of the chief of operations and had to explain why I'm in Thailand.

I expected this tbh so I took all the receipts from Western union with me. Also I will Marry soon and had all the documents needed for it with me too. I explained that I'm not working here and that I get my money from Germany over WU.

And that I don't have married and changed to non o because I wait for some more documents for marry. The chief was nice and didn't ask much more after seeing the over 10 WU receipts and told the desk women to let me in.

So for the others who go my way, get your story ready and bring whatever you can. I'm pretty sure that without the WU stuff I wouldn't be in Thailand now.

  6. Take a look at the Samsung Galaxy A8. It's a phantastic phone for the price.

I'm a mobile application developer and had over 20 smart phones myself already but this one is for sure on top of the list, in terms of quality, speed and all the rest.

If you go to MBK to the 5th(?) floor you can lower the price from the original 15k to 12k, what's really a good price for a phone with these specs.

    13 MB camera rear

    5 MB camera front

    1.8 GHz quad core CPU

    2gb ram

    2 sim cards

Expandable memory up to 128 GB with SD card

    Android 5.1

  7. You mean vibrating visually or the mobile vibrates physically?

Usually on some galleries vibrating icons/thumbs means that the current view is in edit mode. To delete the pics or copy then etc.

What happens if you press the back button once when the icons vibrate.

  8. Thanks for the info Joe, informal and fast as always.

But i have never heard of a 7 day extension, you mean i can do that even now after i already got my visa ecempt extension of 30 days?

I ask because that would give me probably enough time to get the documents for marry.

And another thing, you say there is no 90 day limit. So does this mean that visa exemption runs (to Lao border for example) are now possible again?

I just wonder because thaivisaservice still has this line on the website:

Visa exempt, 15/30 day stamp, possible with some restriction: You are allowed a total of 90 days under visa exempt per calendar year.
  9. Hi again. I read here in forum that only 90 days would be allowed on a back-to-back-visa-exempt-based permit to stay in the country. Is this still active and will it be applied also when i make a border-"flight" by plane (like flying to KL and back sam day). Last time ive flown to KL and i was already over 90 days, they didnt say anything but now i get a little bit scared.

Im here 6 months now and a bit afraid that i get rejected when in KL trying to fly back into TH. The reason why it takes long now is that im still waiting on my documents that i need for marriage. As soon i have them i get a needed doc at embassy in Th and finally can get married. I expect these papers in 1 or 2 days, sadly too late because my extension ends at the same time...

You think i can get another exempt stamp? I can show that my income comes from outside over western union... if that helps.
