Just to update...
After above info amd reading the local consulates and embassy websites I noted that the requirement for a single entry Non O in Phnom Penh were 200k in bank or 65.000 income. No other requirements mention. Other than that consul can ask for further documentation.
Applied at Phmom Penh with 2 sets of application forms. If they directly would throw out the non O application I could file for a tourist visa.
Application received, which included proof of travel to Thailand, initial 1 day hotel reservation, a future flight to Europe, bank statements (1 showing 800k and 1 showing a rather small amount).
Application was accepted and tokd to wait, it was sent to the consul. Short time later paperwork came back and I was told that for extension 800 K needed to in bank longer, which I agreed with and noted that this was the reason to now apply for NonO single entry based on retirement. Was told to return 2 days later to collect passport.
Just been advised that visa has been issued......
So it seems that with all papers in order Phnom Penh is an option for Non O issue.

Reading all info I could find about above subject I am left with some questions.
There is mention that Non O single entry is available in the region... @ubonjoe @elviajero
Are all embassy and consulates issuing this visa? What are the requirements?
Looking through some websites I see mostly info for O-A....
And I am aware that I will need to and can extend within Thailand. Just need a few more months to show 1 year of income... so that is the next step for me.

A non-o visa only allows a 90 day entry.

Which embassy or consulate in the region is issuing Non O (90 day) visa at the moment? Are the requirements as listed on their web sites current or additional requirements needed.?
(On basis of retirement, over 50 years old)

"Police sources have confirmed to the Phuket Gazette that alcohol sales will not be banned on Friday, a national holiday.
“We only ask for people to comply with [the ban of] alcohol sales and purchases on Buddhist holidays,” explained Capt Thapakorn Hanumard of the Phuket Provincial Police.
Patong Police Superintendent Arayapan Pukbuakao conferred.
“We have not received any orders to ban alcohol on Mother’s Day, so you can still sell and buy alcohol on that day,” he said."

Carlsberg will be re introduced on the Thai market within the next month!!!!!!
Import beer from Laos. Will be a touch moe expensive than ie Heineken but that is due to taxation in Thailand. (Import tax is now 0% but Thailand is imposing other levies on imported beer)
If anyone interested to know how to get in contact with distribution points, please PM....

Not sure if Gerd was aiming at me as being one of the members who knows his products. But he definately knows I buy his products and am very happy with them. I also discussed a possible link up with his company to open a possible outlet in Bangkok to carry his products as well. very early in idea status but you never know! Gerd, good luck!

Using the EC226 since last week and am, so far, very impressed with speeds. Am located in Patong where I used it so far. ThaiVisa speed test gives me 1200 to 1700 download and around 450 upload. Better than my wired TOT connection...
Was a bit anxious after reading this conversation but happy I bought it.

Saturday 18? 6 PM onwards?
Maybe the cripple can walk a little by than......
-
OK Gerd, if you are in, I am too.....
Let's aim for a saturday, either this week or next week.
Informal meeting with a few beers (I might throw in some specials) and the BBQ going with some nice food.
No need to sign up but appreciated if anyone let me know if they might come, have to work the numbers a little.....
Location is on OTOP Shopping Paradise, entrance opposite Holiday Inn on Rat-U-Thit road. Open air bar with a relaxed atmosphere. Parking available. Kids, dogs etc are all welcome as we do that daily.
Any reactions so that we can go ahead? no need to discuss in length, just lets try 1 or 2 times. location can always change, but at least there is a start!

Are we able to organize something for next week Saturday......???
Gerd
Now you know me....
Answer to your question from my side is YES, no problem. I might be cripple at the moment but still be able to get things done.

Just bumping into this poll as to where to locate a next Thai Visa BBQ. By reading it it seems that a more casual option might be the way to go...
What about a BBQ and drinks (non sponsored or sponsored via local businesses) event every 2 months. No need to sign up just come when you feel like it, with the likelyhood that the number of TV is higher and a few people will meet?
I do not want to put the name of my business up as yet, rather ask another to have some thoughts about it. Gerd (Thaigerd) knows the venue very well and knows what we do.....
Just in case I like to offer an alternative.
BTW, location is in Patong, parking available and an outside setting.

Not in Bangkok but on Phuket is a reasonable beer buffet available. They offer 2 hours unlimited Chang beers (bottle) for 250 Thb, standard price for a bottle is 50 Thb, so after 5 you are in the profit. You have to start your 2 hours anytime before 6 PM. Name of the venue is 5!5! Bar located on OTOP Shopping plaza in Patong.
Won't do it every day but it is a nice offer. They throw in a free BBQ daily as well after 6 PM.
