  2. How will this affect the north?? Will ChiangMai be affected at all by this storm??

Is this only a concern for Bangkok?

I need to know for all my animals..I have lots of Thai Ridgeback puppies now..and the TRD hates the rain..we moved from one home that has been under water 10 times this rainy season..

We moved to higher ground, but all the area around me still floods as we are close to the canel road.

    Thanks for any input...concerned TRDLOVER

  3. What a farce the news system in America has become...This guy will get a book and movie deal for this fiasco, SUR POP!!! He is hot property now..

I was told by my mother in Mesa AZ, that she was just sick of this John Karr story being played over and over on all her local TV channels as well as all the national news as well... days on the local news was this John Karr story.. his life and all the rest of the BS that follows someone who is in the media spotlight...

She told me by phone: "I BET YOU THIS PUNK DIDN'T DO IT AT ALL!!" My mom is so cool at 87!

All the crazy psychics said he didn't do it as it was a ploy for him to get out of Thailand FREE..she said!! Rememeber what they did to you and Nick? was her only comment...

The camera crazy paparatzzi will drive any one nuts.. I was sitting in Nick Cage's black SUV one day in LA in FEB 2000...what a freekin nightmare we had...we just could not get away from them... all because I sold Nicky a TRD puppy ... They bugged me for for interviews after the fact for 2 days.. at that same pet expo show.. It soon was just a huge hassle.

America is so caught up with "sensation" and with all the bright lights created at others..

It is so wonderful now not to own a TV or subsribe to UBC...

DVD's and THAI VISA..what a wonderful Life...I all have in Thailand...

  4. IMAGINE

    peace and love once again??

    IMAGINE

no more sick people spreading hate and death

Is America & the UN coming to protect or just ignore this part of the world???

    IMAGINE...

    real people who really cared...

  5. This is all just plain silly.. who really wants to watch a bunch of little boys kick a ball back and forth to get it in a net at 3am in the morning?? If there was a THONG BIKINI match at 3 am...okay I could understand that.. I would love to see screamin' young bikini clad babes playing that game and not a bunch of hooligans get druck and fail to respect each others spaces in watching the game.

Hot sweaty babes kickin' a ball around a field would bring me out at 3AM.. something I have not seen since I was last in Rio on the beach or Nice on the nud_e beaches...watchin' the dames in the raw playin' with a ball.

What has happen here?? Thailand was once a great fun place..without UBC

  6. Four children electrocuted in Chiang Mai

CHIANG MAI: -- Four children were electrocuted from short circuit from wielding shop when they swam in a canal near the shop, police reported.

The accident happened at 4 pm in Saraphee district.

Their bodies were found floating on the canal near the wielding shop. They were identified as Saneh Chumchai, 11, Kornwit Luangoonjai, 10, Netr Khanthawong, 9, and Pitchaya Khampao, 10.

Police said the shop owner would be charged for negligence causing death.

Police said the shop ground their electric wielding machine and after it rained, the current apparently leaked to the bridge over the canal and electrocuted the children in the canal.

OH MY DEAR GOD.. I am so sad to read this post.. I was driving to Burma on a "border run" yesterday.. the weather was so bad.. the rain was was and is overwelming now... here in the north.

The roads are so bad.. driving was horrible.. Then after my power came back I decided to open my emails... to find this one posted by George...

I am just sick.. I have two boys 7 & 3 year olds who play all the time in the small pool and I know how much these kids love the water and the rain.. The canels are full now and kids will be kids.. but where were the parents??? To allow your kids to swim in a canal at that age alone is the real crime.

The welder is the same as all the people here who run shadey businesses.. Safety is not a concern to most Thai men in the welding trade.. I know as I hire them to build for me and see the way they work..sunglasses instead of a proper face shield and proper eye protection.. pluging into a socket with two live wires.. improper this and that.. it is really a joke how these guys seem to think it is okay to work.. I had all new wiring done just to use my welder here at my home and then find the workers taking certain freedoms to bypass what I had set up.. Who fault?? Mine for not demanding it all to be done according to the OSHA rules I remember back in the states. This sort of thing is tragic and I am so sad for the moms and dads of thoise kids.. but as far as saying I am sorry about the shop owner.. NO WAY.. he should be give some electic shocks to show him the way they died.

Let him feel the pain as well as jail time as well.. BS is anyone think different.. He was a lazy sod who did not comply with simple rules of the welding trade.. I say make him a new "one" and make him pay all costs..

So many Thai MEN get away with murder here.. and the police do nothing. FRY HIM!

  7. Great idea. Wrong country.

I found that the only way to drive safely here is to give up attachment to such notions as lanes. :D

    cv

Right; lanes? Bike lanes will be vendor cart sites and motorcycle taxi lanes. Bicycles are at the bottom of the pecking order. How do I know? I rode a bicycle around bicycle to work for a long time. It's quick and efficient, but hot and a wee bit dangerous if you don't have your wits about you and one eye up front and the other glued to the back of your head.

    :o

    M I C...K E Y....M O U S E.. lets all sing together that tune we all learned as kids...this is so funny!

I have been hit so many times by bad drivers and all are usually women on motorcycles..

  8. Lets make Thailand the hub of wet t-shirts.......... :D

I'm not really keen on seeing too many wet t-shirts like this... :o

    MVC-483X.jpg

What are they going to do?? arrest kids with water guns?? shoot them with real guns making this a bloodbath instead?? How does the Thai govenment enforce such nonsense with more nonsense???

Is Micky and Minnie, Donald and Goofy going to come this year??? MickieMouseland is nothing without its stars...okay that was silly but how about a water festival and NO WATER???

Okay how about white tee-shirts only and long black see-thru dresses.. so school-girl-like..

UM UM I need some panang goil for lunch...

  9. What a Joke it is living in mickie & donald land..

I saw 3 big accidents here over the few years I have lived here where the drivers just run away..

How far can BIG BIRD stick its neck in a hole in the sand?? I just do not get it..

There is no common sense taught in this country to the people and respect....gimme a break!

  10. Isn't this event a potential risk for blood on the streets?

True! but will all the street dogs now have some bones to chew on..??

Most of these copycat warriors have very small gonades... nothing ever really happens... these are people who hit and run...

The US Embassy was smart in posting this warning and all the other embassies are what they are... big jokes...

I saw 911 first hand.. these arabs are not joking...they want to find any venue to act out with their stupidity...

  11. My job is taking care of the dead and injured in Thailand. Here are some things may want to know. Around 70% of the dead and injured at night have alcohol in their blood.

Driving licences can be bought readily and easily for 500 Thai baht.

Even if a Thai owns a real licence, driving instuction and testing is not only sub-standard but bizzare at times.

Brides to police range from 100 to 300 Thai baht (for Thais).

Drivers are generally underpaid and overworked. "10 wheelers" as they are called here, are often in needless accidents because of driver error. Vans, because of sleep depravation.

Street lighting and vehicle lighting is inadequate and unmonitored. If there are ever campaigns to monitor this, bribes are used to escape more heafty fines.

Roads are sub-standard and down right dangerous! The BKK-Chon buri motorway is one of the worst in the whole country. Thaksin personally said no to a proposed upgrade of this road! This is from the Engineers mouth in charge of the proposal.

Actually more foreigners die on this road and in Pattaya than any other one place in Thailand. The amount of foreigners killed by rented motorcycles in and around Pattaya is scandelous too (no need to have a driving licence, just a passport will do).

Thais are generally nice people, but behind the wheel of a vehicle they become very aggressive and violent because of the stresses of driving in a crazy environment coupled with their inadequate driving skills. Not just aggressive driving, but actual road rage, and the use of weapons and hand-guns at the scenes of accidents is prevelant! Beware.

I love Thailand and thats why I stay and volunteer here but am so sad when the government doesn't accept its responsiblities for all the above!

Man we really need more guys like him... here in Thailand.. My cap/hat is off to you buddy...or mate if you are a Brit or from the land of OZ..or comrade from the Fatherland.. I totally repect people like Mark...

I think the cost of a drivers license is peanuts compared to the west or to Germany.. I believe if the Thai government really want to make money.. REALLY FINE the poo poo out of these big and small company drivers and get them REALLY tested and continue to test 2-3 times a year.. This is a crime what they people do to the foreigners here... we bring MILLIONS of dollars and EUROS to Thailand and we all get treated very badly.. You would think Thailand would get they act together and do the right thing by these lame brained idiots they call cops and the higher ups just raking in on bribes..

I too love Thailand..the county.. but not all these people who can hold two passports, scam you at every business deal...make you life a living hel_l if they want to, and the total disrespect when they are behind a wheel.. I would like that to really change.. I am tired of being a third class person in the areas of repect and 1st class when they want a TIP for nothing done.. :o

PS.. My total respect to the family and friends of all those people killed or injuried.. I lost a wife from a druck driver once and it totally changed my life.. and two wonderfull friends died in a bus crash on that same road in 1976...killing all on that bus..

  12. VISAS... ONLINE??? NOT IN CHIANGMAI.. getting a visa here is easy if you pay under the table..

but to be 100% legal.. it is a nightmare of paperwork... and signing your name a million times and carrying that company stamp everywhere you go is nuts.. is there anyone out there who is honest??

Try getting a NON-Imigrant B Thai Visa online... that will be that day...

  13. He believed the baht would continue to appreciate in the long run. Under the scenario, there might be complaints by some exporters that prices of export products are higher.

The baht on Monday closed at 39.78 to the US dollar, up 0.73 per cent from last Friday.

Does this mean we all go running to the bank to cash out?? :o ouch tourism will suffer now..

  14. What is wrong with this story?

Is this not the the typical thing that happens with people of lessor intelligence??

A typical low-life Euro trash guy comes for a holiday and falls in love (gimme a break)with another typical low-life dishonest Thai trash bar girl.. they were both made for each other..and now they make headlines... The youth of today are simply amazing...

Are there any GOOD stories to tell us.. happy stories???

I need to be cheering up.. My papa died January 3rd at 88 years.. My mama 86 is very sad now...and I want to read about some happy stories for a change..

George.. Happy stories please for a few days...please???

    TRD Lover

  15. Now this really ticks me off.. I am shocked at what Thailand is fast becoming.. are all woman now unsafe here??

I have lived in a many war torned areas in the world..I have seen horror of so many killed for no reason.. but it is not to happen here in Thailand...

I hope they find this young men and do them the same way..

  16. Omigod.. I feel do so bad for the parents back in Cardiff.. so far from home to lose a child.. no way of knowing the reason why?? I have a daughter now in her late thirties and I often feared for her in her long trips away..
