  1. If you are the landlord and a stranger comes from nowhere n says, 110% will rent the house and sign the contract but will pay up when collecting the keys. You accept it and reject others who are interested. The day before, when you want to pass the keys and collect the money, the so called tenant disappears. Even with the passport/ID photocopy, what can you do??? Report police or get a lawyer to sue the so called tenant???

Most landlords will accept a month payment to reserve and when u collect the keys, u pay another 2 months rental. Just nego with the landlord.

  2. I've been in and out twice on visa exemption recently with a 2 year overstay stamp in passport, got in fine. One time asked if I had an onward ticket, the next nothing.

I am just curious, what is the reason for u to ignore the immigration policy of a country? 2 yrs overstay???

I'm as hard over on long-term overstayers as anyone, but jspill was simply sharing relevant information, not soliciting for sympathy or claiming unfairness or making excuses. 'No reason to badger him just for trying to be helpful.

Maybe your level of English and mine are different... The statement I made was "curious" and nothing against him. BTW, what has cute animal "badger" doing here?

  3. Happening to me now... I returned a good condition unit back to my landlord. She mentioned she needs time to check on her bank account to confirm I have transferred the rental every month. I gave her a month to do it. Now she is giving me excuses that the bank is unable to produce the bank statement and all the craps. 3 months have passed and it is frustrating with the same excuse. I even suggested I go to the bank with her or I will take back only 1 month of the security deposit.

I will give the bitch another 2 weeks and I will post her details online especially those online rental websites and forums and hope others will get be careful dealing with her. BTW she works in CRBE.
