  1. Unless something is done to control or curb the epidemic corruption in Bangkok / Thailand . This Country will slowly and for sure fall behind . They will do as they always did , get what they always got , and wonder why nothing has changed , it will be a result of their own self centred actions .THAILAND WILL FALL BEHIND . never be a leader . People at the top are not that clever , they don't look ahead . ( JUST GREED )

  2. Its only a matter of time if the big Super Markets are allowed to dominate Thailand they will then eventual , crush the majority of the small retailer's , and create big problems in the small retail industry , as they have done all over the UK and Europe , leaving town centrers retailers starved of trade , this leads to the slow deterioration of our town centres , then you have the quiet increase of Supermarket price's as the opposition has been decimated .

We need out of town Supermarket Shopping and Malls , THE AMOUNT HAS TO BE CONTROLLED we need balance not put every where as in the West using their Grid system .

In time it will destroy the Thai retail system and their way of life . As in life if you have BALANCE it will work .

  3. Something must have been done or said prior to the event

what difference does it make? nothing can justify attempted murder. they were kicking the guys heads in. and nothing in the video can justify what the bouncers were doing. the guys were down. kicking someone in the head like a football means you want to kill them.

throw the bouncers and security guards in the video into Thai prison, two to five years. Next case.

As you say put them in prison for what they did on video , a lesson for the future .

  4. It would be a good start. I know alot of friends who wont come back ever because they felt cheated and discriminated against. Nothing right about it and it sets the stage for nations rip of the visitor day....

Serious? What, did the 200 baht national park fee break their budget?

Hope they didn't go to Malaysia, Leos, Cambodia . . .

Never bothered me, more to worry about than a few dollars; as per post above, look at it as a discount to the Thai people

Its a matter of Principle . it also makes new tourists feel cheated and ex pats not happy , many people on this forum constantly point out . When will they ever learn good PR in the long run is good for Thailand .

  5. When you come to Pattaya, you need to wear a bulletproof best at all times ,also make sure you are armed and never ever walk alone after lunchtime, especially down beach rd ,there are lots of Indians who will acost you ,and blue pickups with seats in the back ,they will honk their horns and ask you to get in then try and get as much ofyour money as they can, beware it is an evil place ,and don't get me started on the Russians up in Jomtien

Jomtien is a safe place , nice bars nice restaurants , same as any were else be sensible in what you do , at this moment in time there is a lot of construction going on down the lower end , trying to improve the area , dont take to much notice of the statement saying you need a bullet proof vest , i have lived in this area for 12 years .

  6. I remember quiet a few years ago going into a city night club for a night out , there was about 10 of us , we were out of town boys celebrating , the local bouncer's started to give us big problems this ended up outside the nightclub , we did not want trouble , it kicked off big time , we beat the crap out of them , you could say we had a great night out , the part they did not know that we were all from our local BOXING CLUB . True story .

  7. One year ago i was attacked in Soi Bakow , my arm was broken , there was 20.000 baht damage on my car , all i done was park outside a 7 ELEVEN and refused to pay a Thai guy who wanted to charge me for parking . It received 95.000 hits on Thai news network , TV coverage , newspaper coverage . a visit to my home from the chief of Police with a basket of fruit , and apologies for the behaviour of the Thai man ., who received 7. YEARS jail . The Police were good .

I was told to visit the Thai tourist Police who would compensate me for my loss , i went there and was told as i was in Thailand on a Multi O Non Immigrant Visa , which i use to travel back and fore to Thailand a few times a year I was not entitled to any compensation - - I protested ,nobody wanted to listen . I GOT NOTHING .

I paid for my hospital bills and the damage to my car . What they tell you and what you get are two different stories .

  8. I was down at Ban Laem yesterday for my 3 month multiple entry visa , i went across with my Thai wife (i am British) bought a little duty free ,not over the limit , all went very smoothly , no problem , on the way back at the 1 st army check point , i was asked to pull over and my truck was searched , from top to bottom , as i was within the legal limit there was no problem . I have travelled the border runs for 12 years and this is the 1 st time i have been stoped and searched .is this something new or have i been lucky in the past .
