  1. I have been staying at the T.K. Palace, on Chaengwathana Road for years.

54/7 Chaengwathana Road, Soi 15, Laksi, Bangkok 10210 Thailand

It is a 3 star, 10 min from airport.

tel 662-574-1588 fax 662-574-2622, they have a wed site too.

i can email you the bus card, it has a map on the back, that way you can show it to the taxi driver.

in case you don't know this trick, go up to departure level and catch a taxi that just dropped off someone. They will run meter and it will be only 70 Baht to TK PALACE. If you go to arrival, you will get nicked for 3-400 baht.

  2. Hi Folks,

Thanks for all of the info on the new airport. Our plans are to arrive BKK in November, 2006. It may or may not be open. If not, we will stay at our usual place on Cheangwatahna Rd. If it is open, we need to find a nice small place within 30 minutes of the airport. Where should I begin to look? Is Chonburi too far? How far do you think a taxi would be into Chonburi?

I wish domestci flights would continue at Don Muang, maybe?

  3. P76,  that's where my link goes to.

    they have a website now.

Thanks for the recommendation. The one I stayed at I finally found, called The Thai Village Sukhothai, but I think I will stay at The Hibiscus? Kids need a pool!

Besides the Historic Park, what other things are good to visit while in Sukhothai?

Where would you guys stay if you were going to Sukhothai? In the city center area or out by the park? Is there much to do in the city?

  4. Hi,

I stayed at a charming little hotel, or guest house in Sukothai 6 or 7 years ago. It had little water ways and small bridges leading to the rooms and it had a nice restaurant. The other nice thig was it was located just a few block from the main temples. Does anyone know the one I am referring to? I'd like to stay there again in Jan. Would be nice to know the name and contact.

    Thanks,

    Mike

  5. I'd like to stay a couple days in Sukothai, than take a bus to Tak: good, dont you think the people at the placetostay would know best? and even where the nearest busstop is?= avoid to go all the way to busstat. and come back sameway later........

Does anyone know how frequent the buses run and how long it takes the bus to go between these to places?

Like about anywhre here in LOS; ANY main rd has a bus ev 30-60 mins, seeing the distance it will take like 50-75 mins (non stop or stops)

Note that in this case there are many THROUGFH buses that run beyond Tak, like to Ch-Mai, Lampang, etc, and even a few to MaeSot.

Also note that the BUSst in TAK is quite some way out of town (but I guess youre going elsewhere, nah?

Thanks for quick reply. I stayed in Sukothai before, but don't know the contact info of the little place I stayed at, near the temples. I am taking my family on this trip and we have a 1 and a 4 year old! A friend who lives in Thailand recommend Tak and a hotel on the Ping river and 2 or 3 days worth of sights. I'll catch a tuk-yuk or taxi if the bis stop is far out from the hotel. Do you know if I can take a bus from Tak up to Chiang Mai without boing back to Sukothai? Thanks for your time.
