    Several points:

Still better than the environment-destroying tourist industry.

The fact that the companies are Japanese-owned doesn't stop Thailand enjoying much of the profits (workers' salaries, increasing local technical know-how ...).

The stats would be more useful if they compared 2021 production with 2019 (ie pre-covid)! Every government in the world is of course improving appearances by doing the same inappropriate comparison with 2020.

    Several Points.

None of your points have anything to do with export profits.

Yes it has.The car is "brand new" and has no issues or damage at all
She made a wrong decision to buy before our marriage and not consulting me
I had some arguments why she bought it, and it was a big mistake

At this moment the car is standing every day in front of the house and NOBODY is drving it
I am in my own country and have managed NOT to pay anything, because of the Covid situation
Toyota agreed to suspend the payment for 3 month (according the law/Covid related)
I NOT need a car.....but she did buy before and now i try to find a solution
I think she need to pay off another 500.000 baht and i will not do this.
I adviced her to sell asap and make arrangements.I will be back in Thailand next week

Sounds like you really cannot afford to be married?

  3. The issue is they are still doing limited testing and finding Covid. (Limited test personnel, test locations and test kits)

Testing pockets here and there is NO indication of the widespread nature of this problem.

No one can understand the vastness of the Covid issue until the majority of the population has been tested, which we know is not going to happen.

Testing Bangkok and a few hotspots is no indication of the vastness of this problem.

Thailand is a large country with plenty of areas no one has been tested.

  4. The vaccine is not the cure-all many make it out to be.

People with both doses are still getting covid.

Both doses gives you an effective vaccine for 6 months. Then what?

There is no proof as of yet that vaccinated the masses is a final end all solution.

People are panicking because they have no access to the vaccine.

Do you honestly trust ALL the vaccines offered in Thailand?

Getting a vaccine that was rushed to market, only time will tell how effective each vaccine really is.

I have had both Moderna shots.

I have never felt I am immune from getting Covid and still wear a mask when I go out and social distance.

Only time will tell; if we can get the governments to stop lying.

Relax, not completing a contract is a civil issue.

Theoretically, if they have your current address (I assume they do as they sent you mail), they can take you to court. If you don't attend a default judgement will be made and you will be ordered to pay a sum of money to the school. This will not affect your ability to enter Thailand but will affect your ability to have any assets in Thailand (property, bank accounts, etc).

In practice, nothing is going to happen because the cost to take you to court far exceeds the amount you'd be ordered to pay them.

How do you know how much he would have to pay? The school can ask for any amount of damages for breaking a legal contract.

Thanks for the reply. I will do what I feel is reasonable and if they want to keep me or not will be up to the school.

My biggest issues are the occasional Saturday activities and the need to be at the desk on the longer 4 hour breaks between classes. Hopefully having all my work done on time and being an excellent in class teacher will allow them to over look some things.

I don't care too much about my relationship with the other teachers. I've been in Thailand long enough and have a decent social network already. I would never let other teachers pick up my slack anyway. I'm very good at time management and efficient at getting my work done.

You moved all the way to Thailand knowing you would need a teaching job to support yourself.

Yet you are reluctant to conform?

Not sure what country you are from, however, employees never make their own rules.

I'm really looking at it from the POV of the new visa that allows you to buy land (i.e. a real house) but requires you to spend $500k on property in Thailand (could include a condo). I don't want / need to spend anything like that much on a house so am looking at parking the rest somewhere. It doesn't need to be the world's best investment and if it generates some work for a local that's a plus. OTOH it shouldn't be the world's worst investment either...

And what is your plan for when Thailand changes the rules to ZERO AirBNB's?

Reports state that Sinovac is 78% effective against symptoms of Covid-19

The remaining 22% suffering mild to moderated symptoms.

Reports suggest Sinovac is 100% effective again severe symptoms & death.

The 50% reported indicates 50% of people exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus will not contract Covid-19

Sinovac is still a lot better than nothing.

Not if you are in the opposite 50%.
