For tourist visa extensions of stay, they haven't required it.  However, with the visa you entered on or were last on, you were in the normal procedures, with at least one 90 day being filed.  So that's probably why you'll have to do them. It is expected for your visa type.  Even if cancelled, it is the ability to stay on that visa that is being extended.

That makes sense.  Thank you very much.

Not sure why I wasn't seeing it that way.  That seems perfectly reasonable.  I think it just caught me off guard.

  2. I was told today at Chaengwattana that proof of a 90 day report was needed to apply for a new COVID extension. I was instructed to go to MTT and file for one.

I am on a Non-imm B that was cancelled in September 2020 when I lost my job due to a layoff. Since then, I have been on 60 day COVID extensions. I was not aware that these extensions required 90 day reporting. My former company filed my last 90 day report in September 2020. It has never been mentioned when applying for an extension before.

I went to MTT and the first officer I spoke with said COVID extensions did not need 90 day reports, but then he told me to talk with another officer who told me the 90 reporting was in fact overdue and I still should have been filing them because my (cancelled) visa is a Non-imm B.  It was a contradiction between the two officers in about 60 seconds. I raised the fact that the previous officer has just told me it wasn't required and the new officer seemed a bit angry.

They were asking for a 2000 baht fine in order to get straight with the 90 day reporting. This seems to be contradictory to what is in this thread as well. Is there anything I can point to in the immigration's own published guidelines that supports this? It would save me 2000 baht I suppose.

I didn't pay today, because I also require a TM30 this time around. This is due to obtaining my last extension in Surat Thani while on a getaway. The first time I have ever dealt with a TM30 and trying to navigate that as well now too.

Clarification on this 90 report fine would be appreciated. Thanks.

  3. The form I am referring to is different than a TM7. It is the "Affidavit for granting permission to stay in the Kingdom during the pandemic situation of COVID-19." It has been floating around certain forums, but I have not seen it posted on any immigration website.

Trujillo, that is why I am seeking advice here. I am trying to determine what my chances are for approval.

  4. Is it really necessary to go to MTT over Chaenwattana? I have trouble believing two offices within a few kilometers of each other are operating under different guidelines?

Is the 60 day Covid extension form available from any official source online?

The site Ubonjoe provided says you can apply up to 45 days prior to your expiration date. Any reason to wait closer to the 30th? I haven't seen many reports of successful extensions from people in this situation quite yet.

  5. Hi TV,

I am looking for any updates on COVID extensions (amnesty or otherwise) beyond Nov. 30.

I was formerly employed on a NON-B Visa (with Work Permit) that was cancelled by my employer following layoffs. I then went to Chaengwattana with an embassy letter and was given an Under Consideration stamp with a mid October return date. I went back on that date and was stamped to Nov. 30.

Time is now winding down again. I know there has been talk of 60 day extensions beyond Nov. 30, but I am having trouble finding verifiable information. What is the most accurate, up to date information on this situation? I don't plan to return to my home country due to the worsening COVID outbreak.

    Thanks for your help.

    SM

  6. Such great news! Thank you Thailand.

As a laid off, voided Non-B holder, am I now just considered a gray area amnesty? I was responsible and applied with my embassy letter prior to Sept. 26th.

Am I at any greater risk of not being granted further amnesty compared to others who are on extended tourist visas? I guess I am just lumped in with the tourist visa amnesty people now?

  7. I agree with this guy. Casino bus to Poipet. Multiple border-bound busses depart from the southern edge of Lumphini park starting early in the morning up until about 1 or 2pm (as far as I know). The pick-up spot is near the park entrance that is on Rama IV-- across from the HSBC building.

I have made this trip a few times. The casino bus costs 200 baht each way. For me, being on a big bus is way better than being crammed in a mini bus. The service I got leaving from Ekkamai bus station was way worse than the casino bus.

Multiple busses leave from the border market back to Bangkok on the Thai side near a back parking lot close to the border line.

G7 still gets 30 day exempt on arrival! Not 15! Chok dee!

Probably easiest is to take a casino bus to the border at Aranyaprathet to Poi Pet (Cambodia). He can get a Cambodian visa on arrival for US$30 (ensure US currency) if he can avoid all the scams.
