Can anyone tell me any secrets of getting my GF to Australia? we have been dating for 3 years now and we want to be together. i cannot immigrate to Thailand as i dont have 20,000 and an income at the same time. i want us to marry and she wants kids.

But atm the proposed partner visa is 6865AUD plus 3600AUD application fee. Is there a cheaper way? I can afford to look after her once she is here, but 11000 AUD is hard to find these days. i didn't mean to fall in love but we are and it is very hard for both of us right now. and anyone help me? maybe there is a pauper version? she has working in a factory for the last ten years and never been in trouble. a country girl with a heart of gold. Going back and forth is not the answer as it is a waste of finances. I lost everything in the GFC and have been recovering ever since.

Check your Driver's Licence. If it is due to expire shortly after your intended departure date, you may want to delay your departure long enough to renew it before leaving. (I am presuming your DL is like mine, and can only be renewed in person.)

Why is that? i am hoping to move to Thailand as well but i am a novice. My girlfriend works in Bangkok and her family live in Surin. Is the DL used as ID?

Sorry about your troubles. It happens in every country. best to keep your money to yourself and your intincts honed. I have 40 year old Thai girlfriend. she doesnt really have male friends, doesnt drink. her last birthday party was 5 girlfriends at her flat drinking soft drink and eating. she doesnt ask for money and i dont give her any. well, i did help her out a little when she lost some work due to a shortage, but she back to same hours now and has worked same job for 10 years.been with her 2 years but i still have my radar up. i would do with any girl anywhere.

and i ended up with a broke factory worker........but i love her anyway. problem is i am broke too. at least she knows it lol
