  1. I got told due to the amnesty coming into place after I got that special 15 day visa that I did not need to get the further 15 day extension that I was due to get Last month so I did not bother to get it but now a visa company is telling me If I want them to get me a longer visa to stay in the country I need to go and get the 15 day extension first? Is this true and if so will I be charged overstay?

I’ve already extended for 30 days. Wasn’t difficult, 1/2 day at the immigration office and cost 1900 baht but it appears the 30 days won’t be enough. I spoke to a visa agent today and was told 28000 baht for a 90 day extension. Still cheaper than a visa run but this doesn’t seem legit. Is there any truth to this? Thanks in advance.

What did you have to have to be able to extend for 30 days after your extended 30 days?

  3. Looking to study Thai at an education center in Thailand that offers a 9 month ED visa and I do not want to go to Laos to apply for it.

So I am either looking to go to Kuala Lumpur or Bali or even some other countries that require a police check certificate and I wondered if I need it from my own country or if I need a Thai one?

Also is kl still hard to get an Ed visa even with all the required documents? Would Penang be a better choice?

You will not get a visa that allows you to stay for 9 months. You will be getting a single entry non-ed visa that allows a stay of 90 days and then you apply for a 90 day extensions of it at immigration.

They are probably saying it cannot be done in Kuala Lumpur is due them wanting a police clearance to apply for it.

If it is your first ED visa Vientiane or Savannakhet Laos would be good. Or the consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Penang would also be a good choice.

Most of the ones you mentioned could be a problem.

Ok thanks, I will go to Ho Chi Minh city, I also heard Bali Is an option.

Do you know where I can find what documents are needed to apply in Vietnam?

  5. Hello, I am going to apply for a 9 month Non-immigrant visa and I wondered what country I can obtain the visa in, I want to apply anywhere in Asia and I am getting the education visa from a Thai language school in Thailand and they said that I cannot go to Kuala Lumpur and I wondered what the countries I go too that will allow me to obtain this visa.

Are any of these places an option?

Singapore, Philippines,Bali, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong etc?

  6. Hello, So me and my Thai girlfriend will get married soon and i have read online depending on which country go to apply for the type o immigration marriage visa the amount you need in a thai account varies? 400,000 for Malaysia, 100,000 for Laos? Is this correct and if so how much do i need in the bank if i go to cambodia and can i actually apply for it in that country?

Also do i have to have the money in 2 months prior to me going to another country to apply for the visa? Or can i just put a huge lump some of money in my thai bank account at a later date?

Also do i need to show prove of income into my thai account of 40,000 minimum for the last 6 months or?

Money is off no issue but i just need clarification on all of the above, i am just getting conflicting information online.

What else do i also need to apply for this visa? Thanks

  7. Hello, recently i posted that when we got our type o immigration visa in laos that when we left nong khai border they did not stamp us into Thailand (Even though they told us we where done and we could enter thailand), we did not realize this until 3 months later when we went to activate the type o immigration visa so by that time the latest date of entry to activate the visa had already past.

We explained this all to the immigration in chiang mai, they told us to go to laos to get a new type o immigration visa and that we needed to get a stamp of enter into thailand back dated at nong khai border. We got the stamp without any issues as they believed our true story about this whole mistake, crossed out the type o immigration visa we was meant to get activated the first time and then we headed on over to laos to get the type o immigration visa but upon doing this today they said we could not as we had one before...

We only came to get one as the chiang mai immigration told us to and the place we volunteer from that help us get this visa so we could stay in thailand to volunteer.

Now we are quite concerned and this is racking up quite a price so far.. Any advice? please

  8. Hello, me, my girlfriend and her child got a type 0 immigration visa via a volunteer company we help out at, we went to activate it in laos, which all went perfectly smooth.

We have the laos exit stamps but we do not have the departure card and entry stamp to thailand from nong khai border, i have no idea why they are no in their as we filled in the card to leave laos, handed it over to the border people, got our photo taken etc then we got on our bicycles, we got pointed in the direction to exit by a border worker so we left to enter thailand.

So a big issue is we are meant to extend our visa 3 months after activating so we went to do this with the volunteer company but upon checking the passports for the stamps for the first time we noticed it was not in their and neither was the departure card, so we could not extend it. We got told we need to go back to the border to get the exit stamp for the type 0 immigration visa to be dated with when we entered thailand also but the thing is the visa latest date to entry the country on has been exceeded, so we are now worried we will lose the whole visa and get a massive fine for overstaying.

Can anyone give us some advice please as this is just a mistake and we are a bit worried what will occur thanks.
