  1. Good luck to you Brit and enjoy the village life, it's far better than sitting with the old perverts in pattaya.

So does this mean I get the award for the only old pervert in south Thailand lol I don't think so.
    Fantastic.
  2. ignore them, they were here before humans and they will be here after. they don't cause epedemics but they can possibly be a vector... luckily we got meds for that now, ignore them.

I have just spent a week cutting holes in he ground floor ceilings looking for cable damage as electrical stuff has been one by one not working. I have found five places rats have eaten through the wiring. sad.png

I rewired the lot and repaired the ceilings. Have caught a few rats with the glue traps but one evades me and hear it now and again.

As the traps are not 100% am thinking about buying one of those electric 'sound' thingy's that rats don't like. But how can you tell if the thing works if humans can't hear it except by listening for another visitor.

Anyone tried one of these gadgets, who stocks them. ?[/quote

Tried one for insects, seemed to attract more. Trans, try some cats, a jack Russell and a gun, forget the traps the big ones can get out.

  3. I am reasonably happily married , have a beautiful wife of compatible age , if much younger both are grandparents . I have renovated my wife's home to a comfortable gentleman's residence and helped to build another house for her son and grandchildren . My wife's family are kind and friendly and not a financial drag on me . I love my wife even though she doesn't see much need for intimacy . We live in rural Thailand , where I find that local culture has little relation to western European culture . After nearly ten years I am bored to tears ; my wife complains that I spend all day at the computer , but it is the only way to keep my sanity . I think if I had my time again , I might not have settled in Thailand

Oh my goodness, you need to pop round to Kens.

  4. And so the school holidays are here again.

I've got a bunch of young kids on the plot of land at the rear of our house letting off bangers and other fireworks and on the front plot I've got the teenagers making some very big fireworks and blowing craters in the ground, huge rockets flying up in the air, it's like being in the middle of a war zone.

    Is anyone else under attack?

  5. Ok the locals had a good look around and a good clear up of where i thought the nest was, no snake or eggs found by the way.

Tomorrow the owners of the land behind our house have agreed to clear up that patch as well so maybe the snake will move on

and find a new home. I only wanted to kill it after it reared up and threatened me maybe if i was a little closer it would have struck.

So after taking a while today watching the hunt, reading your replys and looking at a bit of info on king cobras im gonna leave the

snake be, maybe i just got tooooooooo close. Thanks again, the diddy man.

  6. The one i see is a dark olive green, its a cobra for sure as it reared up as i rode past on mt bike 2 days ago. It crosses the road at the back of our house at dusk from the bamboo heading into the jungle, must be going hunting. Im quite sure its nest is in the bamboo. Anyone know what kind? Is it a spitter?

  7. Thanks for the reply's. My plan for a dusk attack does'nt seem like such a good idea now, ive had a quick poke around in the giant bamboo where i think its hiding out and realised that if i came face to face with the beast in there i may be on to a hiding. The wifes had a word with some of the local lads and they are in there now, ill leave it to them as they look to be having fun.

  8. The buggers at the back of my house, i see it regular, what would you do then just let it be? these things are killers, and when the eggs hatch who knows what could happen. Like they say, when in Rome.

  9. " riding around the village on my honda wave waving it around my head and yelping like a rabid dog is quite enchanting"

How to win friends and influence people huh, they will probably think you have mental health issues.

Thats what they do up here, im only trying to fit in.

  10. Someone did, and as for bare hands, no way, this is a 2m cobra that wouldnt be a fair fight, they have venom and if that bites me im dead. Im going in fully armed, machette, catapuilt and cast net. I live in the jungle, you have to keep yourself protected from the dangers here you know, the eggs must be smashed.

  11. Thanks Charlie but id like to catch this one myself, ive only killed small ones before and the thought of killing a 2m whopper then riding around the village on my honda wave waving it around my head and yelping like a rabid dog is quite enchanting.

  12. Ok chaps, ive got this big cobra behind my house, its about 2m long. its been slithering about for a while now and im sure its nest is behind my house. i want to make a cobra trap and catch it, i also want to find its nest and smash its egg's. If anyone has any ideas on how to trap cobras please help, thanks Ken.
