I figured out what to do. I can't cheap out on this. My wife works now, so I can go a little higher on the price. My DIL works at a boba shop. I'm going to follow all of the recommended links here and buy a new HP, Asus or equivalent from one of the online shops and send to her work insured.
i5, 4 GB ram (expandable), 256 hard drive, 1080p, 14". I will budget $600 USD/ 19,000 baht. My local Sam's Club has a 15.6" with 8 GB ram for $650.
Thanks for all of the replies.

Seller has a bricks and mortar location in addition to a Lazada presence: https://itrinitydell.com/product/notebook-dell/inspiron/3000-series/new-inspiron-15-amd-w566155260athw10-3505-bk-w/

Take a look at invadeit.co.th. Under Notebooks/Laptops there are many choices of new notebooks under $400. They are located in Hua Hin, and offer installment payments. The company is very responsive to email requests on the its website. Disclaimer: As a periodic customer, have gotten products from them in just a few days, but have no other interest in the company.
thanks. This one seems ok. MSI

thanks, this is possible. It's too bad I can't come to Thailand right now, because that's $400 here.

I'm leaning to new, but now I don't know.
I have a gaming desktop that is about 3 years old. It's still sick. I feel that it is probably pretty ok compared to top of line pc's today due to the lack of excitement over the past 8 or so years in the PC industry. I kind of feel that we are topping out on the real story vs. the BS tech hype. PC's just aren't advancing like they were prior to 10 years ago. So now I'm thinking- used like suggested. Hmm.. I hated used PC's before because of the quick advancement of PC's and the outdated used products being peddled.
Maybe used is ok now like Toyota cars are. ???
Maybe a used name brand like Fujita, Dell, HP is the way to go, but the $400 laptop is maybe a two year project here, so I don't know now.

Either google in Thai and english but best to go in person to the nearest city or town and Koh Tao itself to talk to local realtors and people in general and look for signs for sale people put up...
thanks, that's what I was thinking too. I think I need to get my wife to negotiate. She isn't that good at doing that that though, but I'll train her!

Filled a small suitcase with food last trip. Took it as carry on and only USA asked about it.

I love these starbucks haters. Starbucks coffee tastes perfectly fine. Is it the best? No. Is it as bad as 7/11 or mcdonalds? Hell no! Where I come from I buy a bag of newhall coffee beans and grind the beans and use my aeropress (amazon) espressos maker. Nothing is better to me.

ok thanks. I think I'll remove the packaging.

Are there any customs issues bringing household hardware like a faucet, shower head into Thailand? I want to fix some problems in my GF's apartment and don't really know how easy or time consuming it will be to shop the day arrive. Thanks

Cialis, Viagra as well as Sidegra (Thai generic of Viagra) are all prescription drugs and you need to see a doctor before.
Now some pharmacies might sell you some without prescription, BUT remember that also lot of street pharmacies are selling copies.
Sent from my HTC 10 using Thaivisa Connect mobile app
Now I'm even more confused, LOL... So If I walk off the street, I could get bunk drugs at a pharmacy. Ok. I could probably get a prescription at home, but damn they make it so embarrassing!

lol. I read another old post about some generic stuff available at the pharmacy. Can somebody walk off the street and buy this (forget name) at a pharmacy?

I was walking Sukhumvit the other day and noticed a lot of vendors selling packets of cialis/ viagra. Has anybody verified if those packets are real? Any legal issues?

LOL. Prime is the greatest of all memberships. The video streaming is so-so but the music streaming is top of the line. And if you live in the states you get 2 day delivery for free on any prime item. This is the single greatest thing I would lose if I moved over seas.

Sounds like they are excited that you are paying and so order a lot of items that sound good and can't finish them...
