  1. Why do so many losers call Thailand home?

So who do I refer to?

Those partnered with bar girls dressing them up as lamb and lie about their past work. You're not fooling anyone but yourself.

Old dudes partnered with girls young enough to be their daughter or grand daughter and thinking there is a little love. C'mon you deluded old man.

Young and old that do not have the financial resources to be here. Those that sponge off their countries welfare/pension system.

The weird misfits that never had it in their home countries so made their way here.

Why so many here that never made the grade at home?

Finally, where are all the cool dudes with the well matched hotties like myself?

  2. My 2 brothers own 4 farms in amongst the fires and another 3 south of Adelaide. They've lost crops but no buildings. I've seen the devastation fires bring at home and in other parts of the country. SA is the driest state in the driest continent. I know people there that have lost the lot. My family have lost crops, livestock, fencing, and machinery 5 times previously. It's a part of life.

  3. No Thai girl wants a sweating, heaving piece of white meat, so it's in ones interests to get fit. No pic I'm sorry mate.

I guess they are quite happy with the 2000 baht though !

Seems to me that Expats here often either take the extreme drinking route or extreme exercise route. Perhaps moderation in both should be the goal. If you are not working here in Thailand then of course it is not difficult to exercise, we have all the time in the world ! Why do so many feel the need to tell of their own personal achievements and talk in superior tone ??

Irrespective of whether you work or not is no excuse for not exercising.

Personally I am not in the extreme.

Swimming 5-6kms a week is the norm.

5-6 Leo longnecks a week minimum with a bottle of red and whiskey; cigs to go with it (although I'm trying to kick this habit).

    "personal achievements and talk in superior tone ??" I wouldn't say I was writing in a superior way but in answer to your question;

I'm 6'1", 92kgs, naturally ripped and strongly built. I've played 3 sports competitively at a high level when younger, skydive and low alt currently. In all honestly, even as a 43 year old, I very rarely see anyone in my shape regardless of age, and that's anywhere in the world. You think my thoughts are that of someone superior? U bet I am mate, especially when I see all the heaving white meat getting around Thailand.

Re your first point about a girl being happy getting 2000B.....you need to have a little think about that one. I don't pay, never have, and never will; my girl is a savvy, level headed hottie who also likes to exercise.

1750m swum late today and feeling tip top.

1/2 way through a Leo and outside for a cig directly.

    Yes, all in moderation.

  4. That's a nice statistic however I truly don't believe it shows Bangkok people as a whole make a conscious decision to buy krathongs of natural materials.

Bangkokians have not progressed that much to consider the environment when making purchases. They are still too selfish, insufficiently educated, and governed by appearances rather than substance.

    Harsh but true.

  5. Swam 1250m in 30mins yesterday.

    Will swim 1500m tomorrow.

My wife loves my bod as I do hers. She's a former swimsuit model so body wise, we are supremely matched.

It's in ones interests to maintain health and activity.

The lovely lithe girls here are not attracted to sweating, heaving masses of white meat no matter what spin you put on it.

    Pix please.

I saw quite a corpulent guy swim the length and back of the Baan Ampur beach on Sunday., the return was against strong wind and waves.

He had, (to my mind), a quite clumsy inefficient stroke but clearly a strong guy and no youngster. Made me very envious as the walk along the footpath nearly did me in.

Sorry dude, it's a 50m city pool for me and I'm the only western member.

It's a little sad actually; for all the white fellas getting about, I don't see any in shape.

    Annual membership: 130B.

    Pool use: 15B.

I also have the use of 2 free gyms.

People here don't have excuses for not maintaining fitness. Large universities nearby with many active girls and lads is far better than plonking ones fat arse in a go-go bar choosing to bar fine that little, lithe Issan girl dressed up in a Uni outfit. She ain't the real deal.

Most dudes in this country don't "have it".

No Thai girl wants a sweating, heaving piece of white meat, so it's in ones interests to get fit. No pic I'm sorry mate.

  7. I know two stunning, articulate, and well grounded girls through my wife. Each have wealth bequeathed from inheritance. They truly are quality girls. Many a Thai man is interested and farang from online dating. They each independently acknowledge that they don't meet the man they desire; Thai or farang.

A guy under 40, +/- 6', slim and muscular, alluring eyes, with a cracking smile. I see guys tripping over themselves to get them but none "have it".

I don't doubt many a girl has an ulterior motive but many don't.

How many dudes on TF fit the profile? Not many, several at most.

The OP asks why another victim bites the dust? Most, if not all of these guys never made it with the ladies anytime in their lives and are too naive to see the trap being set.

Too many of the other guys here don't have the looks and personality to get a quality girl.

Some of you will not like what I write but it'll ring true.

Some also will think the two girls have their standards set too high, or are prudes, or shallow. You couldn't be further from the truth.

I know two supremely quality girls. I'd love to match them with two quality guys.

  8. Sheryl,

Yes, I've asked Thai insurers specifics regarding cancellation (not automatically annually renewable) and increasing premiums to compensate when large or potentially ongoing claims are made.

Their policies are not worth the paper they are written on in my opinion.

    GinBoy2,

You are quite right; risk tolerance v's aversion.

I also have have made good and bad in the market. Nevertheless, if one has some wealth and can maintain it from say 40 to 55-60, one can pay irrespective of cost.

BUPA Thailand does not actually guarantee for life and will "up" premiums so it's a flawed and uncertain health coverage (pls correct me if you believe I'm wrong).

Sheryl is looking at international policies for this reason.

    SussexExpat has first hand experience.

Wpcoe, fine print I think. Personally I haven't met anyone within the Thai health sector who truly knows all aspects of coverage, limitations, renewability, apart from the gibberish they've been taught to remember when representing their organisation or flogging their products as an agent.

I'll go for a top tier international policy.

  9. I was broke twice in my twenties. I'm early 40's now and yes, I wouldn't want to be old and broke in this country.

It's why many head for the high balconies.

The OP is young and has a job set up for next year.

As long as he plans and makes good financial decisions when he returns to the UK he will undoubted be okay.....much better than many an older gent here.

  10. Being broke in LOS. I can't think of anything worse.

I would high-tail it back to my own country ASAP.

I'd rather be broke in los traveling around than slaving away at a job i farangland for 50 hours a week. A lot of people would envy him. He's got it easy and he's traveling the world.

nothing easy about being broke. its a tough situation, but one every man should experience once in life.

I disagree. Why should every man experience being broke once in his life?

To know the feeling and then acting on it.

If I'm reading between his lines, then it reinforces positive action to get into the green and plan accordingly so as to never get in that predicament again.

I had the option to ask for help twice but never did. I'm financially secure now, but knowing the experience of having nothing drove me harder to succeed.

In experiencing hardship, I learnt my decision making impacted my future.

I'm a better person for it.

  11. Here are the hard facts. If you don't have any money, you cannot afford to get married period.

Your GF is sending you the signal right now, that Sin Sod is important or she would have said otherwise.

I would take a guess and say the second leading cause of divorce, after infidelity in Thailand, is LACK of money.

No Thai woman I ever heard of wants to marry a farang without having a new house, car, etc. for her eventual kids/family.

She, like the millions of others, has yet to accept the fact that you have no money (Don't you know according to ALL Thai girls, that ALL farangs are rich?)

She may believe your family or someone else has money and you are just keeping it from her?

They never want to believe the truth after winning the social lottery of finding a farang.

At 20 something years old in Thailand, you probably have no skill or education in your own country that you could even support a wife, let alone yourself.

In the end, this fails miserably, if it makes it to marriage at all.

Failed miserably means divorce, loss of custody of your kid and probably watching some other farang marry her and take your kid.

You have not learned the #1 rule in Thailand which is money rules!

With no money, you have already failed.

Any time a Thai girl says "She doesn't know" you are already doomed because in fact she does know.

Right now you are the only one, but when someone comes along with money to satisfy her dreams, you will be gone.

Doesn't matter if they are much older, less in shape or not as beautiful as you.

You have failed to learn the true essence of a Thai woman

Obviously you don't know the true essence of a decent Thai woman.

If a girl has no net worth like the ones plying their trade in Pats, Phuket and Suk, they'll be after a man with money.

A better girl doesn't see money as no 1 when it comes to finding a mate.

I'll think you'll find it's honestly, integrity and common aspirations.

I do agree that infidelity and lack of money is the leading cause of divorce here but that's the same in the west also.

"winning the social lottery of finding a farang." Jeez man, I bet you mix with the wrong girls and circles to generalise like that.

Get around parts of BKK away from the neon lights and high heeled harlets and you'll find savvy western lads partnered with same in girl and I guarantee you money isn't the driving force to their union. It's certainly wasn't with my wife, and after four years it still isn't; both of us each have enough.

Sin sot should be discussed well prior to any thoughts of marriage so both parties know exactly where they stand.

  12. What's your problem with dating sites?

Personally, I don't have a problem with them as I would never use one.

Do you believe your 'intended' is only in contact with you, or maybe has another couple of dozen in her 'favourites' box, trying to see which is the best financial option.

Your comments sound like a mirror on life in general.

Of course attractive girls have a number of admirers, and of course they will choose the best.

This applies to internet dating every bit as much as it does in the real world.

I did not say the best, I said 'best financial option'.

It is not a mirror on life in general. Been there (married), cost me 6,000 baht to get rid, best thing I have ever done.

More like 'hitting a nerve' with some people who obviously use these sites ?

Yes, I noticed you wrote "best financial option", and you're wrong. I could quote examples, but that would be indiscreet.

If the girl is poor then inevitably she will select the best provider (ie, the man most willing to hand over cash).

If she has a good job and her own home/car, she will opt for the man she likes most. Her criteria will include status, looks, physique, personality, etc.

I don't think you're hitting any nerves, by the way. It seems to me that you're the only one preoccupied with dating sites.

"If she has a good job and her own home/car, she will opt for the man she likes most. Her criteria will include status, looks, physique, personality, etc."

    That's a very fair summation.

It essentially puts us into two groups; those that are partnered with girls having financial independence and those that seek it.

If you've got the goods, you'll get the quality girl; if you don't...

  13. Sheryl,

You are correct. It is a specific written report I'm seeking.

Unfamiliarity and fear are endemic in this culture.

Nevertheless, it's unacceptable from an International hospital.

Ive been diplomatic over the last number of weeks but next week I'll be confrontational and that I already know will create more intrepid fear, anguish, confusion, face saving, and ultimately further delay.

  14. Sheryl,

I understand many including myself respect your advice on this forum but I've been waiting for a medical report from Bumrungrad for 9 weeks.

They are happy to take the money but when one requires something in return they are absolutely incompetent.

I will never go to that hospital again.

I have no fondness for the "hospital" itself either. But there are times when the best specialist for a specific problem is based there, and this is one of them.

BTW it is indeed very difficult to get medical reports sent to you. Go in person and assuming all you want is copies of what is already in your records (as opposed to something that needs to be specially written up for you) and you will get it on the spot.

It's a report involving three Doctors but the hierarchy and "face" thing has delayed this for an extremely unacceptable length of time. I'm aware I can get medical records on the spot.

    Any suggestions?

I'll be going in again next week and taking it to the top.

9 weeks and waiting for a med report and they call themselves an International Hospital. BS; Mae mee kwam samarth=incompetent.

Your medical records, even those involving three doctors are easily obtained.

I wonder if your request for a "special" report was specific, comprehensible and couched in good polite , grammatically correct English ?

Yes it is. I'm well aware the leading Physicians English is substandard and he goes all out to cover/delay/ this report.

I don't doubt Bumrungrad has competent physicians and surgeons but the ones I'm dealing with, I'm certain received their medical degrees out of a breakfast packet.

    It's an absolute disgrace.

  17. Reading this thread I've noticed most do not understand the difference between a Tom and Dee.

Secondly, I hazard a guess that just about every one of you lives, associates, and/or are partnered with Lo-so. The Lo-so uneducated lads are he ones mostly in groups pissing their time away thinking of girls knickers.

Thai teenage lads at good Thai schools and Universities are mostly keeping their heads down wanting more in life; have friends they socialise and interact with but not in cluster groups wasting their time. They also have a gf. I see it living in very close proximity to three Universities here in BKK. I have 2 nephews and nieces at these Uni's and my wife has business at each also.

There's quite a difference between lads from Nakon and same from middle to strong middle class here in the north side of the city.

  18. I am requiring a 1T forklift (possibly a higher load rating will suit) for one week likely late in the year or early next.

I'm interested in any advice, contacts, companies willing to hire and a quote.

Location of work will be in Saraburi, 2 hours north of Bangkok.

    Thanks JJ.

  19. I live near several universities and often see those 'gorgeous co-eds girls' with their young Thai boyfriends ... until I take a close look and notice that their 'boyfriend' is a young female tom because those gorgeous co-eds are totally disenchanted with the shallowness of those young late teen boys of whom you are so envious.

I also live between two Uni's but don't think of the young lads. It's the stunning young ladies I often see that make me think.....

I'm married and would never touch but, looking is okay.

I have 18 year old lads in my Thai family and they think the same as I did same age.

They are thinking of young ladies soaking knickers and how to get them off just as I did.
