  1. We signed up for Moderna at Thai Nakarin in BKK on June 27.  Paid in full for 2 doses for 3 of us, charge then was 3,800 Baht per person.  Used my passport for myself, wife is Thai so she used her ID.  We got sms confirmations 2nd July, with vaccine date TBA, but not before October.  This particular sign up came via a friend, and it was open only June 26 and 27th, then closed.  I've seen the rate now less than we paid, not clear if we will get refund for difference or there will be some "other fees" to take up the difference.  A buddy in Roi Et signed up in early June (not sure what hospital) no payment, and just got notice last week to pay deposit 1,200 Baht.

  2. We live on Bangna Trad KM 14, it rattled windows and we could see a bit of the fire.  A friend who lives in Windmill said some homes had windows broken and roofs damaged.  Some people there evacuated over concerns of toxic fumes.  The smoke cloud continues to expand.

  3. I bought the Sony a7 iii just over a year ago, with a 100-400 mm zoom.  I am very much an novice with it, and can verify good equipment makes up for my lack of skill.  I use it for shooting birds more than 90% of the time and mostly I use the crop sensor mode.  I found too many times the birds were too far away and went to shop I purchased it, too see what options there were.  One was to change to a 200-600 mm lens and the shop would take my existing lens as a trade in.  I ended up getting a 2x teleconverter instead, and sorry I cannot recall how much they offered me for my 100-400 lens, but it would have been at least a 30% discount from my purchase price.  The shop is "Big Camera" at Central Mall Bangna.  The shop said they preferred to have the original packing etc too.

  4. I got my 330e last August.  So far have just driven to work and around BKK, so my daily usage is about 50km.  I had the wall charger BMW provided installed at my condo and use that every night.  I usually leave it plugged in overnight, was not aware of the less than 100% charge issue, but I'll check with the dealer.  I have just over 7,000 km on the car and tanked up for just the third time yesterday.  Electricity cost per month around 1,000-1,200 Baht per month.  I finally got Carplay set up this weekend and it works fine.  There had been an issue with the emergency call not working, but that was due to a software update which was just finished and I understand it affected many cars.  The acceleration and performance are excellent, I've had the 320i previously and this 330e is about the best car I've ever driven.

  5. I just did my latest 90 day report last week and TM30 was required.  Located in Bangkok, I had my staff take the 90 report to the one stop center as have been doing for years.  I did not have any TM30, last overseas trip in 2018, and for previous 90 day report (in June and also at the one stop) I had my staff ask immigration if TM30 was needed and they said no.  However it was different last week.  They did not sign the 90 day and I had to get a TM30.  Once that was done, the 90 day was signed.  For this TM30 and the current 90 day, went to immigration at Samutprakarn.  For what it's worth, I have work permit under BOI and always use the one stop center.  For this TM30 and 90 day, I did not go in person, used POA and my staff managed it.  Had to pay fine of 800 Baht.  I am condo owner and did TM30 under my name.

  6. I would like to get members advice/experience for long time overstay.

I have a friend who has about 3 years overstay.  There is no question he is at fault, but he wants to make things right and I offered to help as I could.

He is an American and  entered on a 60 day multiple entry visa.  He is an older gentleman with some medical conditions and is confined to a wheelchair.  He wants to get a driver and do land crossing up north.  He wants to come back with retirement visa and move to an assisted living facility and he has no plans to return to states.

Having read through many of the posts on this subject, I am worried he will not be allowed back in, or will need to stay out for long time.  The 20,000 Baht fine is understood.

I would appreciate any comments anyone may have.

    thank you

  7. Did you ask AXA if they could give you insurance with BMW shops? I also have a 320i and use AXA, with repair only in BMW. When I renewed last year I remember that you can select whether or not to use BMW or another garage. It comes down to the cost. I still have over 2 years to go on my 5 year program, so have not experienced your situation. I would call AXA and ask. I fully agree with you on the danger of fake parts.

I bought mine from Europa but do service at German Auto. Last year a truck bumped me and damaged the rear panel. The rework was done at German Auto, I popped in a couple times to monitor. They opened a new, larger repair shop on the airport entrance road (Bangna Trad side) and every time I drive by, it is pretty full of cars waiting for repair.

  8. Our company manufactures 19" racks and rack mounts and I think we have something you can use. <deleted>

We don't have an outlet in Chiang Mai, but our Bangkok sales office can help. If they don't have any stock, I may have somehing at the factory.

    PM for info.
