The algae eaters are only truly algae feeders as juveniles, as they get older they turn more to parasitism, rasping at fish scales and slime.
But otos live extremely shortened lives in aquariums for unknown reasons, believed to die because wild food (prbly specific local algae) is unavailable in our aquaria.
Bristlenoses, twig cats etc stay fairly small, are related to otos, and thrive so much better. Suckermouths aren't just the huge plecs and little otos.

I'm just trying to think of ways to enter & support myself afterwards.

And where might I find work with a Thai registered company?
Specialities relate to aquariums, falconry, reptiles including DWA etc.

How exactly do the people staying using visa runs, make income?
They are making money somehow.
I do have specialist skills, but no qualifications. How do I confirm them to the embassy?

Hi,
Does anyone know anywhere in BKK I can find a vidya arcade else enjoy social gaming with consoles. I'm not into games played on PC with a mouse and keyboard mind & I don't like gaming bars like Meltdown either because the atmospheres wrong and detracts from the games.

If I came to Thailand, could some agency guide me through the whole visa run process?
As I understand you, I can obtain a tourist visa & stay/work indefinitely? Yes?
'You can still leave to go out to get a visa or use a visa for a new entry' - I want to be certain what you mean, here; will I have to keep obtaining new visas? Which will let me stay as a tourist?
It would be illegal to work if in the country on a tourist visa.
Penalties for illegal working can be severe.
A visa will only permit a limited stay which in the case of a tourist visa is 60 days( the 60 days can be extended to 90) then you have to leave the country.
Yes, I know. But it doesn't apply to internet businesses in practice, were I to set one up.
Also I have skills few can do, particularly aquatics, but no qualification or sponsor to let me enter Thailand on a work visa. Whilst in Thailand I should be able to make a bit of money on the side, though, without fearing a crackdown.
And anyway, people are employed to work illegally in Thailand as language teachers and such, usually after getting an education qualification in the country. This is something I was looking into, just like many other westerners.
(Anyone with experiences pls DM me about the legal issues & workarounds.)

Suitability of sand for an aquarium depends upon its chemical composition inc possible contaminents & the desired water chemistry. Coarseness of sand or gravel might also be bad for some bottom dwelling fish like loaches, corys.

Yes I was looking at the education visa.
Hence my original question; could I arrive without a visa, and then enrol for an education visa.
Can I change the tourist visa after 90 days, to an education visa? Because no border runs now, right?
This is what I'm worried about, there may be no more indefinite stays on the tourist visa.

Thanks, Ubonjoe.
Can I obtain a visa into Thailand from a country other than the UK, if I am a UK citizen?
I think this is a point of confusion; will I get background checks in the UK, from outside of the UK?
-
sorry I missed the word 'only'.
But can I obtain them whilst in a neighboring country rather than inside the UK?
I am talking here about an agency to provide the necessary background checks, you see.
This is the problem, as I'm unsafe here I will need to arrange whilst abroad.

Thanks.
Would it be possible to arrive without a visa (30 days stay) then obtain one in the country for longer residence?
And what checks do the ministries need for a visa to be arranged - can I arrange them in the UK from at the Thai side?

Hi,
Where can I find the cheapest possible accom for one in BKK - that is, I will need fridge, aircon, (preferably) microwave & basic utils inc. wifi access. Other things like a television not essential.
Anyone help?

Hi,
Could I arrive in BKK as normal without a prearranged visa, apply then for a tourist visa & shift after that to an education visa to find an employer, and then work (maybe changing visa again)?
Or is there some less complicated way to do it, if I'm not eligible to retire in BKK, don't have a college degree etc.

I notice a lot of people are living in Thailand without work permits but sustaining themselves economically.
Where exactly do they find work?
Are they all language teachers?
