  1. You need to have permanent residency in Indonesia to get the METV in Indonesia. Nationalities of the listed countries with permanent residency in Indonesia can only apply the METV in Jakarta.

Part of the requirement for the METV is to show proof of permanent residency in the country you are applying at and it is the same everywhere in the region. Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam.

  2. Advice needed...

I have all the documents except for my daughter's house book registry needed for a Single Non O based on Thai Child. It will be my second Single Non O at Vientiane.

The only problem I face now is getting a copy of my daughter's house book registry whom is registered under my brother-in-law and my gf's sister registry. They are not very cooperative with me despite pleads from my gf.

Any chances Vientiane will accept the original BC, my wife copy ID & passport + her house registry without a copy of my daughter's house book registry? The last round I had the copy of my daughter's house book registry and regretted not having made more copies of it.

It seems to me embassy is more interested in the original BC as they kept the original BC before returning to me the next day when I went to collect my passport and Non O.

    Any genuine advice?

  3. Hi Ubonjoe, do the consulate in Savannakhet limit on back to back single non O base on parent to thai child? I am currently on my third non O with Savannakhet and my 60 days extension will end on November 8. Can I go back to Savannakhet for my fourth or is it better to go to Vientiane?

    I see you've been getting a single entry non o 90 days and a 60 day extension.

Why not get the multi entry non o instead, you only have to border hop every 90 days then instead.

I know but I cannot get multiple non O is because I am not legally married but living together and my child is only 1 year 2 months old..so multiple is out of the question..

I read Multiple Non O is available at Savannakhet if your gf and child is present with you at the consulate. No?

  4. I think the proof of residence for 60 days extension would be a tumbling block for me since my landlord refused to give me his copy of ID and house book after a talk with him.

Try telling him that you will be notifying immigration that he did not notified immigration about renting to an alien. Actually you should do something about anyway, because Immigration can find convenient to fine you for his failure.

My thoughts exactly. I would think if I do a 60 days extension this round, Immigration would fine me for his failure to report me staying in his residence thus decided to do a new Single Entry Non O. I will get this sorted out.. worst off to change residence since my rental is up. Hopefully by the end of my 2nd Single Non O, I would have a proof of residence to do a 60 days extension.

  5. If you are named on the birth certificate and both are present, there should be no need for the proof of sole parental rights.

Regardless of that, currently you do not have any parental rights till you legitimise the child, as per link provided by Paz.

I am trying to get the Thai passport for my daughter.

My gf and I are not married but we live together with our daughter. However, I did not legitimise the paternity. Just my name on my daughter's birth certificate as father as well as her house book.

The question is do I need Por Kor 14 to apply for my daughter's passport? If so, can my gf get it from the district office where my daughter is registered at birth or must it be at the district office where her house book is registered?

Anybody in the same situation as me with successful report on getting the Thai passport for your child without Por Kor 14?

  6. I think the proof of residence for 60 days extension would be a tumbling block for me since my landlord refused to give me his copy of ID and house book after a talk with him.

I have decided to make a new Single Entry Non O at Vientiane.

However, as my daughter is registered under the house book of my gf's father and this time round he needs the original house book with him thus I would not have the original house book. Is it a problem?

Will a photocopy of the house book with my gf's signature suffice at Vientiane? The last round the officer was only interested in my daughter's original copy of birth certificate. Not too sure if Vientiane would ask for the original copy of house book this time round.

    Advice appreciated.

  7. You can try to get the extension without the copies of the ID card and house book. Not all offices require them. But it is a normal requirement at many,

    Thanks for the valuable inputs.

I would try doing a 60 days extension.. If Immigration doesn't accept just my lease contract as proof of residence, I would head over to Vientiane for a new Single Non O.

  8. A rental agreement with a copy of the owners ID card and house book attached to it will be accepted for proof of residence.

I would think it is almost impossible for me to get my landlord to give me his copy of ID and house book. He is a grumpy old man..

Any chance Immigration at CW would accept just the lease contract signed by my gf as proof of residence? Since I am staying with my gf and daughter and they would also be present during my 2 months extension?

Any idea if there is a cap limit on Single Non O that Vientiane will issue for my case? If it is unlimited, I would find it more convenient for me to do a visa run to Vientiane every 3 months to get a new Non O since I can't get a year extension at Immigration.

  9. 2. Yes but you should get the 60 day extension first.

    3. If you are living with your child's mother and all of you were present in Savannakhet when the application for a multiple entry non-o is submitted. No financial proof.would be needed.

In Penang you can get one with at least 100k baht fo financial proof.without the family being with you.

    4. To apply for a 60 day extension to visa your child they will need to be with you when you apply. You will need their birth certificate plus a copy and a copy of their house book registry. Most immigration offices will also want proof of residence.

Thank you both for the useful info.

2.It is a must to do a 60 days extension before I can get another new Single Non O from Vientiane or even Mutiple Non O from Savannakhet?

    4. Do we need to show proof of financials when applying for 60 days extension at Immigration in CW? Can a rental lease contract suffice for proof of residence?

    Thank you.

  10. I have a Single Entry Non O issued by Vientiane on the basis of having a Thai child. Not married.

After my single non-o expires, when are my options?

    1. I read in this forum that 1 year extension at Immigration is not possible ? As I am not the legal father of my daughter?

    2. Can I go back to Vientiane to get another Single Entry Non O?

    3. Does Savannakhet or any embassy in the region issue Mutiple Entry Non O for my case? If so what are the requirements?

    4. If I do a temporary extension stay of 2 months at Immigration in CW, what are the requirements?

Appreciate all genuine advice. Thanks all.
