That's great news ! Finally a country doing it right.
What about the nightlife? Bars/clubs, are they opened at the moment? Any curfew in place? Restrictions?
Thanks!
Might book it for March!

Very true.
Not coming to Thailand until I'm sure the bars/clubs are up and running at full capacity.Until then: Croatia/Spain will do.

In my experience, people (tourists) do not plan to visit active pandemic hot spots or war zones. You choose your definition for what is which and where. But if seems to me that if you want to attract vaccinated tourists, you should first use the lock down time that you have created to actually vaccinate the people who are in those areas where tourists will go so that no one passes along the virus. We are burning precious time here and also usually the left hand knows nothing about what the right hand is doing.
Vaccinated tourists don't care about covid hotspots.
I'm ready to book my tickets as soon as quarantine is lifted, and so are many of my friends.

Is there any agreement on how 'tourists' will prove that they have received two jabs of approved vaccine?
Well, Europe has a COVID passport/app/digital QR code now in place. Easy to use and check. Can't be faked.
The rest of the world, not sure.

Hardly anyone will travel here for a good few years.
Young people? It's going to be much more expensive to travel from now on and young people don't have that disposable income any more. Certainly not during a global recession.
We won't see mass air travel for a while yet either.
I'm not sure what you're smoking but speaking as a 'somewhat young' people (33yo) from Switzerland, me and all my friends have lots of cash as the pandemic forced us to stay at home doing nothing but work. We've booked dirt cheap flight tickets to Vietnam/Thailand for October. We also booked hotels, the cheapest I've ever seen btw.
So no.
- Plenty of people have extra money to spend.
- Flights are currently very cheap and easily refundable/modifiable (at least from Europe)
- Hotel are dirt cheap as well, even for Oct/Dec. And you can cancel as far as 24h before arrival.
When SE-Asia countries open to vaccinated tourists without quarantine, there will be a HUGE influx of tourists coming in.
Only question is: which country will be the first to smell the golden opportunity.

Quarantine will be lifted for vaccinated tourists way before January. By September 1st at the latest there won't be any quarantine for inoculated tourism.
I'm happy to take bets people.

Also, it does NOT prevent you spreading the disease. How many Thais have been vaccinated?? How many will have been by October? I'd say the way things are going...not that many. With these things in mind, I would say opening the floodgates for international tourists could be a little silly.
Dude... It's been posted so many times now...
More and more studies show that the vaccines (Pfizer/Moderna/AZ) heavily reduce transmition.
There's a reason more and more countries are evaluating letting vaccinated people in without quarantine.
Or you can stay in your cave and keep your hands on your ears. Up to you.
