  1. Bring that shit on.

    I got hit on my motorbike the other day coming out of a service station. The thai guy, who happened to be on the wrong side of the road going the wrong direction, at warp speed, just yelled at me that "I not stop"

    Now i have a 360,000 baht shoulder surgery to look forward to and 6 months of recovery time.

    Thanks champ, really hope you are not too upset about me not seeing you, while you were performing your surprise attack.

  2. I think the really sad thing is that we all live in a world, where younger generations all of a sudden think it is acceptable to "Gang Bash" people as they seem fit. I am not that old, but i still remember the days when if 2 guys had a disagreement then it was just "those 2 guys" sorted it out. Not their large group of mates, not with knives or sticks, or broken bottles or glasses. It is happenening in all parts of the world, granted some worse than others.

    Surely we as a human race must take a look at ourselves and put an end to this scale of violence that exist now.

  3. In Australia,they have LAMS approved bikes for they "Newbies" I got my bike licence when I first got my car licence 20 years ago and the rules have changed heaps since then. I could not tell you for sure but they are pretty restrictive. I believe the LAMS bikes are assessed on power to weight ratio. You also have to do an approved rider training course. Then there is other restrictions, like pillion passanger etc.

    But the other guys are correct on the limits of the bikes vs the ability of the riders. I ride a 1200cc to work every day over here and it's the peanuts on the R150 and R300's that want to prove that they can match it with Valentino Rossie all the time.

    I still remember when i did my licence here and all the thai's rode around the course first, over half of them didn't complete it succesfully but still got passed. The guy didn't even watch them go around most of it. When the foreigners went around, all of a sudden there was an influx of Thai instructors to witness every move. I am pretty sure a couple of the guys got failed for having poor technique.

    Some of the Thai have exceptional skills though. Just last week i was riding home and came up behind a young lady on a scooter. She had a child of around 3 or 4 years old sitting behind her, hanging on like a little Koala. Neither of them with helmets. I though she only had one arm, but then realised she was using her left had to throttle/steer the bike while checking facebook on her mobile phone with her right hand.

  4. We were always taught as kids to learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others.

    The Thai do not seem to understand, nor care about this.

    I have been working here for some time now and like many others have said, Thailand is around 50 years behind other parts of the civilized world.

    Until the Thai's lose their ignorance to outside assistance and knowledge nothing will change.

    That stupid stubbornness and fear of losing face if someone shows you that what you are doing is blatantly wrong, frustrates the hell out of us.

    I wish the Thai's would realise, that sometimes, people offer help and advice, not to show them up or to belittle them, but to actually help and improve them.

  5. I would say that you would probably be better off getting an electician to check it out. Someone who can check both your voltage and also the Current being drawn on that circuit.

    I would imagine that the appliances you have stated would add up to around 500 or 600 watts.

    If you use Ohms law,

    Even if you said that circuit had 1000 watts @ 240v which would equal only around 4 amps.

    Definately not enough to heat that conductor in question.

    Something is very loose....Or that circuit is drawaing a lot more than 4 amps.

    Ohm's Law defines the relationship between power, voltage, current, and resistance. The various possible formulas for Ohm's law are as follows.

    Where
    P = power in watts
    E = voltage in volts
    I = current in amps
    R = resistance in ohms

    I = E/R
    I = P/E
    I = sqrt(P/R)

  6. I agree with SoiBiker.

    I am working here at the moment,but would like to stay when my contract ends.

    Back home i was a collector of all things new, had a boat, wanted a bigger one, same with the car, bike, house etc etc.

    I came here, same, never satisfied, had a sexy lady, wanted a more sexy one.

    I would be more happy now to sell everything back home, come and live here with like minded people. Get a job, which pays the bills and just watch the world go around.

    I think, only then will i be able to sit back and look at what i have done and where i have come from and say that i am happythumbsup.gif

  7. Is this really news worthy ?.

    Are you Australian by any chance?

    Another Quality Australian Tourist

    Aren't all "tourists" quality?

    I agree that everyone needs to be a bit more responsible for their own actions.

    BUT, I was in a bar the other night where the staff were replaying the CCTV footage of an older Falang getting hit and kicked by several of the bar staff and ladies. When i asked what he had done they replied, "He was very drunk and called one of the staff a ladyboy".
