  1. Pra Nang is very nice scenery. But I am always a little disturbed by the water taxi to get there. Many of them do not provide any life jackets at all. Last time I was traveling with my brother and his little daughter of 4 years old. There was no life jacket at all and on the way the boat hit a high tide caused by another speeding taxi boat and the boat almost turned over with tons of water rushing in the boat. The little kid almost got thrown out into the sea by the shaking. I almost fell over board as well. If the boat had turned over, I think without a life jacket I won't be here anymore.

So I think we as tourists who spend huge money for this country and help the Thai economy need to protest the total lack of concern for our safety in this nation.

  2. Come on, Thais are still in their baby phase of democracy. They are still in infantile face of their mental developement. Even they say they have a constitution, but it is just there as a ornamental flower vase.

Also Thaksin is not perfect, but he has built a better economy for this dirt poor nation and better life for the average Thais after he took over the office. You have to remember this dirt poor nation is run by a small hiarchy with massive manipulation of masses of ordinary thais.

If Sondhi and his mafia gangs want to outst Thaksin, I am not sure there is a better guy for this country where democracy and people's mentality are still in infantile state.

Thailand claims to have a constitution and claims to be a democracy, but both Sondi and Thaksin both made very critical and unconstitutional errors. Sondhi tried to remove him by submit to privy council, whatever that is, then request their king to replace the prime minister. And the Thaksin also said the only person that can remove him is the king.

Both men have absolute no knowledge of the Thai constitution, even it's so called constitutional monarchy, king has no power at all to remove an legally elected prime minister. The ultimate power still belong to the people, the majority of people, not to the king. Both of the men totally ignore the rights of the people, and come down to bet their future on one single man, the king, which is totally unconstitutional and undemoncratic. Thats why I said the Thais are still in thier infantile stage of mental evolution. Even the leaders can think logically.

If Sondi wants to remove Thaksin, it has to be in the hands of the people. The 19 million who vote him in, and the 19 million or over half of them is needed to vote him out in a referemdum. If this Sondi guy has any determination and really think about the benifits of the future, he should follow this path and convince the ordinary Thais that Thaksin made very serious and critical and unforgivable errors and has to be impeached. Then convince the Senate to hold referemdum on his impeachment. But to me this Sondi guy is just full of jealousy and hatred to the success and popularity of thaksin. He knows he will get nowhere with referendum to impeach if he has suceess in holding one. This guy has his own hidden agendas, not for the benifits of all these dirt poor Thais, but for his own hidden desires.

  3. Generally BKK is safe in the day time. But the night time can turn suddenly nightmare. If you are frequent party goer you should know. I would still avoid night spots with mostly Thais. I have seen too many times senseless fighting between Thai groups. Most of the fighting started like someone looks at someone's girlfriend or someone stare or glance at someone or someone steps on someone's shoes or someone just don't like the look or shirt of someone else ect. It could be very nasty or life threatening if you get caught in the middle of action.

When these little Thai guys fight, they use knives, sticks, rocks, bricks, anything and always hit until someone nearly dead or dead on the ground then they all flee. Always in groups fighting. A few weeks ago I took a visiting friend to go out. We went a few night places and after hour we made our way to Ratchada Soi 6. They have sea food restaurants and some Thai night spots open till very late.

We were with 2 Thai girls. And suddenly a big fight broke out about 2 tables next to us. One Thai young guy hit another guy with a glass bottle and then the attacker's friend stuck broken bottle into the same guy's face. Very disgusting scenery. Many tables were overturned and we had to jump some barriers to get out to the streets. Then a few of victim's friends came and started to fight back and the whole gangs were fighting in the street with hundreds of onlookers.

We had to run into the parking lot of Dance Fever disco because so many rocks and bricks were flying all over the street. Total chaos. Did not see all the details. Later we saw about 3-4 guys all bloody lying on the ground. We just decided to leave from the opposite side of the soi.

Things like this happen every night in all the Thai entertainment areas. And police do not care much because they happen too often every night everywhere. During the whole gang fight we saw which lasted about 20 minutes or so, not even one police showed up.
