I came in on a SETV, did 1 month on that and now have a 3 month Ed visa. When do I start the 90 day reporting? From the first date I entered Thailand (on the SETV), or from the date of the Ed visa? I will be extending the Ed visa for a year after the 3 months.
Immigration didn't say anything, so if anyone knows, would be great.

If he doesn't have the passport the original entry stamp was in, he needs to show a police report stating it was lost/stolen, or a letter from the embassy saying they have cancelled it.
Immigration at the airport will not transfer the stamp to the new/temporary passport unless he has this, and will not let him leave.

Do what Gweiloman says, don't target fixate on the wrong place i.e. the sides, look to the end of the beam and you will be good.

There is a bike shop in Suttihsan by a son and father team. The shop mostly works on dirt bike and motards, but they have some classic old Triumphs in the back that the old man has done up. I think the name is 47 Bike or 49 Bike. See if they can be of any help.
Here is a map
Shop is on Jip Damri Alley and between Suttiphong 4 Alley and Noi Chan Alley

i think better they have a chip inserted into their skin and the immigration has a chip reader
could have their passport details, birth date, blood type etc etc
I take it you will consent to this if they ever role it out for every expat, sorry I mean immigrant

Not sure if Pirelli Diablo Scooter tyres come in the right size for the bike, but if they do, they are very good.

I see. Noted and understood.
Except that guys going round the world on C90's and all are not about the riding but the adventuring. One could go all around the world on foot, on a bicycle, public transportation or bikes - the possibilities are endless. I could (although I never will) walk the same route that seedy did to Nan and back. It would take me a darn sight longer of course and I'll probably expire of boredom before completion.
For some, the fun in biking is hitting the twisties (which is what North Thailand is all about). I would enjoy doing the MHS loop on my PCX; I would enjoy it 10 times more on my Versys / Ninja just because. I would hate riding to Korat from Bkk on my PCX (with a top speed of 110 kmh); I would hate it less on my Ninja because I can cover the distance in much less time.
Fundamentally, this is one of the problems with TV. There is a biking forum but it's too general. You have sportsbikes riders who gets their thrills at high speeds sharing the same space with riders who will not exceed 80 kph. This is a complete mismatch of course but due to a lack of alternative suitable (ie English) forums, lots of riders converged on here. Luckily, things have changed in the last couple of months. A couple of English speaking forums have sprouted up recently and the majority of the serious riders have migrated over. I still post here because there is still an abundance of knowledge to be gleaned.
ring, ring, its 04:54 am, troll alarm...
How is this a troll post? he makes some very good points.
Maybe you lack the background story. I really would like to wish their new forum "all the best". Its good to have different bike forums for different needs. But at the moment i can hardly respect them. Hope they will get over their loss soon and live a happy and safe life in their new forum.
Good the TV bike forum now has active moderation with strict rules. And i hope it stays this way. Its the only possible way for a successful public forum.
Nope, I don't lack the background story. Like I said, he makes some very valid points, and it wasn't a troll post.
I doubt if they are worried by a lack of respect on TV forum, it is something I certainly wouldn't sweat about. Seems to be an over inflated sense of importance over this forum, Yes, it can be a good resource for info, but let's not lose sight of what it is, just a forum on general motorbikes in Thailand.

Just get a second hand CB500F, enough power for what you want to do with it and second hand starts as low as 150K.
Enough money left to change/upgrade it to your liking.
The single front brake rotor has always put me off these bikes. Even my old Honda 400s had double rotors up front.

Street Triple is hands down the best naked - just read the reviews and comparisons too. Price has cone down in Thailand too, so around the same as the Monster.

If the wages go up then the bosses won't be able to afford another Merc - we can't have that can we

They don't do much when they're open, so it shouldn't be much different when they're closed.
Plus, they don't police their mail carriers well. More than a few stories of missing/stolen mail, particularly when a carrier can feel a plastic card in the envelope. Even if a carrier is caught stealing, it's usually not more than a rebuke, and then he's back to work the next day.
Didn't take long for a bit of Thai bashing. I have never had a problem with the Thai postal service. Staff in the post offices are always helpful and nice, post never lost or damaged.

I told you Prime Minister..........Think before you open your mouth........think and don't let anger overcome you.
You are not an Army man any more, you are the Prime Minister of Thailand.
If you could do that sometimes.......you would have been the best.
Yeah, like he is reading your comments on Thai Visa

It is funny everyone arguing over the wording and nuances of this law, cause office Somchai at the road block doesn't give a flying (DELETE) about that, he just wants his 200 Baht.

Don't expect the Thai cops to be nuanced about the subtle differences i.e. you can use the outer lanes to overtake etc.
They just want to fine every bike that they see off the left.

I cant believe some posters in this thread would actually choose violence towards the driver as an acceptable means. Sad really
Keyboard warriors.
The taxi drivers was an <deleted>, but think about how many taxi rides are taken everyday in this city. A few taxi drivers are idiots, like this one, but that doesn't mean every Thai taxi driver is the scum of the earth. TV posters really have no sense of proportion sometimes.

one more example of concentrating the wealth to the already wealthy, some of the poorest and disabled people get by selling lottery tickests, now their little income will be absorbed by mega rich 7-11.
Then they shouldn't have jumped om the greed bandwagon and sold at inflated prices.
Lottery vendors are like Baht buses in Pattaya - there are probably 50% to many! (although never there when you want one )
I am not looking forward to standing in the queue behind Somchai, to buy my can of Birdy coffee, while hr.e dwells over his lucky number, pays his electric bill and collects his online order.
Yeah right, disabled poor people whose only income is a few thousand baht from selling lottery tickets - the height of greed. Not as though they have many other options is it, and I am sure if there was some kind of state benefit you would be moaning about them claiming that? Damned it they do and damned it they don't.

I hate it when they put huge slabs of metal on the road, usually when doing some work on the BTS. These things are like blocks of ice when it rains.

Yes like most Thai bike shops their website sucks.
They do stock Shoei and I was looking at the GT Air in there the other week.
-
Try Riders Outlet, they stock Shoei
https://www.facebook.com/RidersOutletBKK
It is on Soi Patanakarn 20, but you can access that soi from On Nut Soi 17.
They have a map on their Facebook page

instead of a new Z300, why not get a 2nd hand ER6n for the same price? it's another league...
Another league slower. Any competent rider on a Ninja 300 would destroy an ER6 in traffic or the twisties or track.
Interesting comment Mac. Would the same rider be faster on a 300 than an ER6 in the twisties and track?
I think in the hands of a better rider, sure. Equally matched riders and then the ER6 is gonna beat the 300, more grunt and power coming out of the corner, which is where it matters if you can harness it and use it.

I ride the Z250 at the moment, awesome bike for the city
i would say appalling for the city - because of the constant clutch slipping and gear changes.......PCX 150 is the king in the city.....
Have ridden the PCX in the city too, the Z is the better bike - more power, safer, better brakes etc. etc.
If the Z250 is a better bike in the city than a PCX 150, then i'm a jam doughnut (with cream on top).......
sprinkles too?

Clutch is so light, so not a problem for me. Also, first and second gears are long, and it will happily sit in that sweet spot in 2nd gear when filtering that you don't even need to pull the clutch in that much.

Z250 also has the twin, not just the single. Same HP as a CBR300 and better looking too. The single version is a lot smaller.
I ride the Z250 at the moment, awesome bike for the city and good on the twisties. If you can, go for the Z300, more power and the ABS.
