Vientiane has never issued triple entry tourist visas.

Since 13 Nov 2015 only single entry tourist visas are available.

Until recently triple entries were available but with a validity of only 3 months they were of little use.

Before that they used to be valid 6 months.

Just got a report from Vientiane. The guy is working in Laos, got all the documents from work, money in the bank etc(200K baht) . They turned him down anyway, first they asked more "copies" of the documents for the Laos company, when he could provide them, they said that the money should be in Laos bank only.. So the conclusion is: they just instructed not to issue that kind of visa, finding any excuse possible.

If the money is in a foreign bank account, it makes it difficult to call the bank and ask them to confirm.

Sounds like it's a "special deal" surely involving middleman, where the single instead of being 1000 becomes 7000 (6000 extra for "service") and METV 5000 becomes 11000 (again 6000 extra).
