As a Chinese new year present. Is this normal in Thailand, do people buy their subordinates lavish gifts as a new year present? I told her its too much, but shes insisting that its the norm here. Im so confused.

But more importantly, is the guard a relation of anybody on the management committee?

I calculated it to be per head.

Total wage bill is 280k/pm. We have 2 gardeners and 6 security guards in total.

Isnt this figure too much? Any authorities which I can complain to? I complained to the management, they said this is the market rate. I dont beleive it.

Why would you want some unregulated person to be given weapons to shoot ( most likely miss ) someone and possibly injure an innocent bystander?

Sounds like utter madness to me.

They should at least carry some sort of weapon then, like a taser.

All they have is a whistle, how can they stop a theft or a robbery with a whistle? I think its useless to employ them TBH. Dogs are way better.

Hi guys, my nickname summarises all. I have hell of a problem with the security guard on the morning shift. He just wont salute me when I'm leaving the building or entering. I pay 50k baht in rent, and it really pisses me off. Any ideas on how I can get him to salute, should I complain to the management?
