Just to add, if I apply for the Non B in Vientiane, would I need to get the health check document and insurance whilst there, to be allowed entry back into Thailand?

Much obliged ubonjoe.

Dear all,
I'd like to be able to take up offers for teaching positions but how can I apply for a Non B under the current situation?
I understand that I'd need to cancel my retirement visa first, then leave the country and apply for a Non B, then work permit upon return.
Any advice on what I can do?
TIA

When the non Imm O has less than 45 days remaining of the 90 days, when then applying for extension based on retirement, will the documentation that was handed in for the non Imm O being held by immigration, be used for the extension? Ie .income stat dec , proof of where you live.
I need to know the answer to this too

You need to send it to CW. No need to report anything to the local police.
Noted elviajero,
Thank you for your swift response.

Thanks a lot! Much obliged for that. I guess if they want to see me in person, they'll let me know.
Quick question: does this definitely get sent to CW or am I supposed to register my change of address with local police?

I would just sent the TM.28, but it wouldn't hurt to include a copy or your rental contract.
Thanks a lot! Much obliged for that. I guess if they want to see me in person, they'll let me know.

Elviajero, thank you - I hadn't considered doing that. Just to confirm then, send in the TM28, copy of rental contract and manager's ID?

If you entered the country with a non 'O' visa, and are still within the initial 90 days, there is no reason to report a change of address, especially at CW. The apartment manager/owner should be reporting your stay using the TM.30 (paper or online).
I came in on a SETV which was converted to a non O at CW, so am presuming I have to report my new address within 24 hours?

I am on the initial 90 days of my Non O retirement visa but am changing address. Apart from the completed TM 28 form and copy of my rental contract, what else I do I need to take with me to Chaengwattana? Do I need a copy of the apartment manager's ID as well?
TIA.

Sorry Joe, I meant to ask which would be my best option? Vientiane, Savannakhet, Penang or elsewhere? I don't have an income letter or proof of retirement, only money in the bank. I can get a police clearance and medical check if required.
-
OK thank you Joe. Which documents would I need for the Non O at, say, Vientiane?
-
Thanks Joe. I sent the funds from my UK account via Transferwise so it wasn't a direct transfer between banks - will that be OK?

Hi Joe,
OK, so am now on a Tourist Visa which expires early November. A couple of questions as I approach the time to apply for my Non-O based on retirement.
1. The 800k has now seasoned for 2 months so am ready to go. Can you confirm that the bank letter has to be gotten from the bank within the CW complex on the day I apply or can I get it the day before at my local branch?
2. Do I need to have a certain number of days left on my Tourist Visa before I apply?
TIA,
Fletch

Grateful for your help Ubonjoe. I will do a border hop when my current visa expires and then apply for the initial non-o at Chaengwattana. Sounds more straightforward than I thought and am confident I can have a go at applying myself, without needing assistance.
-
Thanks Ubonjoe. I can't get the non-o until I've had the 800k in the bank for 2 months so am thinking that I'd need to get a SETV until the 2-month mark is up and then go to Chaengwattana to apply for the non-o with my bankbook and bank letter etc;. Have I got it right?
-
My F-type will be expired before the 800k is seasoned for 2 months. Upon expiration, should I apply for a SETV first then apply for the Non-O based on retirement?
-
OK thanks Ubonjoe

Thanks Joe,
For the retirement option, would I need the 800k in the bank for the initial extension of stay application?

Considering my options - am currently on an F type visa but aim to change to either an ED or Non O based on being over 50.
1. For the ED visa, do I need to cancel the F type first and then apply for a SETV, before converting that to an ED at Chaengwattana?
2. For the Non O (over 50), do I need to cancel the F type and then apply for the initial Non O outside of Thailand or can it be done at CW?
British Passport.
Cheers in advance,

Am looking for a shop where I can buy model kits of airliners - Tamiya, Revel, Airfix etc;
Does anyone know of anything in the Bangkapi area or if not, Bangkok in general?
Many thanks

OK thank you ubonjoe

My 90 day report is due in Bangkok but have changed my address. Can I just put the new address on the TM47 form or do they need any other proof of address?
Many thanks
