I just did that trip 2 weeks ago. If you submit paperwork in time on Monday, you can collect visa on Tuesday afternoon. But...you'll then have to wait until Wednesday morning for the next Air Asia flight back to BKK. So plan on at least 2 nights in Penang.

Getting to the consulate on Monday is possible. I arrived at my hotel at 11:50am and the hotel staff got my documents to the consulate in time. But... if there are any delays, you could be late on Monday. Then you're gonna be waiting around until Thursday.

There's an Air Asia office in KOMTAR.

I got the multiple-entry Non-B with no problems.

I already have a work permit. Will that make any difference?

Does anybody have current information on obtaining non-B from Penang. I'm getting conficting info from different sources: some say it's ok; others say avoid it. I just bought a ticket to Penang; was that a mistake?

My lawyer is telling me that some of his other American clients could only get single-entry, so I guess I'll try somewhere else.

Are there any Americans out there who have received a multiple-entry Non Immigrant B visa from the Thai embassy in Penang in the last few weeks?

I plan to go to KL next week to get a multiple Non-B. I was able to obtain a multiple Non-B last year in KL.
