Egyptian passport holder here (not the greatest passport by any stretch). I was recently denied entry twice (once at the Padang Besar land border and subsequently at Suvarnabhumi upon deciding to fly back in from KL). I had a valid tourist visa, 20K+ in cash and a confirmed flight out to KL. Since I'd been on tourist visas for 2.5 years (a couple of overstays during that period, paid the fines upon leaving the country) the IO denied me entry on suspicions that I'm working in Thailand. They told me I had to fly back to Egypt (I wasn't given neighboring countries as an option), made me sign some documents (my passport wasn't stamped), and I was on the next Egypt Air flight bound for Cairo.
I've been away for almost a month now, got a new passport, have applied for and received an ED Visa from the embassy here, and am planning on flying back within the coming days. My questions are as follows:
1.) What are the chances that I will get denied entry again, with a Valid ED Visa, a confirmed ticket back to Cairo, and more than 20K in cash?
2.) Have I been banned from entry (there's no stamp in my passport and the IO told me I'm not banned or blacklisted, just a standard deportation procedure)?
3.) Will the system flag me upon attempting to reenter Thailand?
Thanks in advance.

I need advice. I am an Egyptian passport holder, and recently applied (and received) a METV from the Thai Embassy in Cairo. I have been in Bangkok for almost 90 days, and need do a visa run quite soon. I tried contacting one of the visa run agencies, but they said their border (Cambodian) was unwelcoming of Egyptian passport holders, and that I wouldn't be able to cross the border there. What are some viable alternatives? Are Laos still as open as they used to be back in the day? I know flying is probably the easiest option, but I'd rather take the train or bus to a nearby border. I already have a valid METV Visa from the embassy back "home" so I'm assuming matters should be somewhat hassle free.

From your words you don't seem like a bad guy.
But if you were short on cash, how did you live for 9 months in LOS?
I actually think the penalties for this should be harsher as it just makes things more difficult for those of us who follow the rules.
I had money coming in on regular intervals, just never enough to cover the fine and a flight back home at one time. I did finally manage to raise enough cash recently, and am on my way out of the country.
I'd also like to clarify that my emergency travel document is a one page piece of paper with photo identification issued in lieu of my passport, and not a new passport.
Once again, I'd like to thank everyone for their feedback (particularly UbonJoe), and Happy new Year in advance.

How'd the OP make out, any news?
I am heading to the airport in 12 hours. I shall let you know how things go.

Thanks for all the feedback. I guess all I need to do now is go to the airport approximately 4 hours before my flight to clear everything, and hope they don't detain or blacklist me (I have heard/read conflicting reports).

Extension of stay on my Non Immigrant B, which expired at the end of March.

I have overstayed for approximately 9 months and my passport expired as a consequence. I went to my embassy and got an extension (a travel document) so I can fly back home, and will be heading to the airport in less than 48 hours.
How early should I get there to clear my overstay and pay the fine? Normally, I'd get to the airport a couple of hours before my flight, but given the circumstances, should I be there 3-4 hours before? Is there a risk of being jailed/detained, or will they just let me leave if I pay the fine? Is there a potential for being blacklisted? (I haven't overstayed before, and I possess no criminal record) I am not proud of what I have done (nor am I looking for excuses), but I was short on cash after a business venture went awry and my business partner (a friend of 9 years mind you) couldn't deliver on his promises.
I have read elsewhere that I need to get my travel document stamped from immigration, but my embassy assured me this isn't necessary as I still have my original expired passport, and that going to immigration might cause more harm than good. They advised me to just go to the airport and clear everything there. Is this accurate?
Any help/advice would be appreciated, and Merry Christmas to all.

Is it going to be a problem?

Thank you for the responses. I hope I won't encounter any problems, as it would truly suck to be denied entry twice in the space of 5-6 weeks.
