Hey guys, I lost my UK passport (I'm British) and I have a flight booked out of Chiang Mai next week.

I know I need to get an emergency travel document which I'm told can be obtained via the British Embassy in Bangkok for £100, but flying to Bangkok for a piece of paper is a huge inconvenience. Is there any way get it without going to Bangkok. Perhaps there's an office in Chiang Mai that has the power to grant one?

I know Vientiane used to be considered one of the "easiest" places to get approved for a Tourist Visa, but having read recent reports it looks like that is no longer the case.

So I'm wondering, for those who already had Thai Tourist Visas in the past, what countries (near Thailand) are now considered the lowest risk? I've been told that Vietnam and Kuala Lumpur are safer bets, but I'd love to know the opinion around here.

I'm British. Did some investigating about a partner visa but I can't find much. At least nothing I could make out from that PDF.

I realise this may not be the best place to ask since I'm technically asking about Hungarian visas for Thai peope, but I'd really appreciate some direction on this.

My education visa runs out in 9 months and I plan to head to Hungary, Budapest to settle down for a year or so. What are the chances that she would be able to obtain a visa and come with me for that period of time? She's fresh out of university and doesn't have a lot of money. (I would be supporting her financially.)

Is this realistic or will she have a hard time getting a visa? What kind of visa would even be required?

I've tried to run the test multiple times and it fails every time.

This is the error I keep getting:
There was unrecoverable error while running the latency test.

I tried it at a local coffee shop and the test ran fine. I guess it just doesn't like my connection.

Would this offer a clue as to what's going on with my PS4 online?  I feel like these issues could be tied. I'd love to know what you think.

Hmm, I get what you're saying. I should say though, I recently took my PS4 to Bangkok for a few days and it didn't lag at all on the hotel wifi. It was smooth as butter in pretty much every game.

So there must be some way to make it work like that in my Chiang Mai apartment...

Having some issues with playing my PS4 online and hoping someone can shed some light on what's happening.
 

Pretty much any game I go online with has stuttering, lag or rubberbanding issues. Some games are worse than others, but it's not enjoyable to play in any case.

I'm in Chiang Mai and my apartment has it's own router. The provider is 3BB. In terms of speed, I've not had any problems and I can stream movies in full HD, no problem. I don't know the exact package I'm on because the owner had it all set up when I moved in.

Speed test on my PS4 shows: 18.4 mbps up. 1.2 mbps down.
Ookla speed test shows pretty much the exact same, with ping at 35ms.

So far I've tried...
 

• Changing to Google DNS (helped a bit)
• Using a wired connection (made it worse)
• Restarting the router (lol... no difference)

I've read that my internet speed is plenty fast enough, and my problem is latency. How do I fix that? I'm starting to wonder if online gaming in Thailand is just unrealistic. Like I said, hoping someone can shed some light.

P.S. I would have called the ISP,  but since it's in the owners name I figured they wouldn't be able to help me. But If I can pinpoint the issue, it'll make things much easier.

Hi guys,

I went to Thailand this year on a single entry tourist visa. I used the 60 days and extended for another 30 at an immigration office.

Been back in the UK for a few months now and decided I want to head back to Thailand to do some more exploration.

Will there be a problem with me doing the same thing again (SETV and 30 day extension)?

3 months would be perfect if I can do that again.
