just need to bargain with hotel manager . if you take a month in a 5 star hotel you will pay less than 50 dollars a night. this is what Airlines do when they send their crew.

none of them are fast. and in a thai town you don't want go fast. what you need is a practical scooter that is easy to ride, easy to park, easy to refuel,... and the grand filano tick all the boxes. pcx is smaller under the seat , no place between legs... more power but in town, it s not a requirement.

scooter is not a waste of money as you will use it for shopping , go beach, go malls... . so whatever you choose it s well invested money . and maintenance cost nearly nothing. oil change 100 bahts. it s all it needs.

I stayed at the hotel next to the Hooters in Bangkok. I checked the menu and the prices they are charging are even more than they charge in the states. I assume their business will be off of tourist that know nothing better about prices. I suppose it has to do with import taxes or something ? But the prices are just plain stupid. We will see how long they remain in Thailand.

You can live her very cheap but that means you have to live like a local and will 100% need to learn the language. If you cant speak Thai you will mostly like to pay more...on most occasions. But another bad news is that you don't get the Thai prices on National Parks anymore even if with work permit and Non O visa extension . I used to get Thai prices at National Parks for years but now they don't give me that anymore. Easy makes your National Park weekend trips a few thousand baht more expensive. Also makes me feel very stupid when I pay 3-4 times more then my Thai partner even if I can speak Thai very decent and in general do all the speaking...
