The statement you quoted appears in this update from one of the US consulates, it refers to a government meeting late last year so up to date rather than old.
Historically the has been a difference of opinion between the info from Siam Legal sites and other sites that refer to the bilateral agreement with no limitation by air. I think there has always been a bit of confusion over the visa exemption scheme that apllies to the "majority" and bilateral agreements, but the table in this update indicates a distinct separation.
On the basis that the 4 countries mentioned in the OP have been singled out from the rest of the "majority", I would suggest that it can be taken as the current requirement.
The 4 countries in question have a bilateral agreement on diplomatic passports which may well have been extended to ordinary passports.
Enforcement however is another matter entirely and many will contine to take their chances.
.
The Los Angels embassy always has wrong information. The 15 day rule stopped back in 2004/5, so there is no longer any such rule and especially doesn't apply for arrivals via air.

Such an in-depth article 🙄
So many details missing in the story . It says they charged him with personal use , but they had photocopies of money used in the sting . Usually that is when they are trying to buy from him and they use their notes as proof . If he was caught buying from them is that not entrapment of some sort ?
I hate to say this, but get used to it. The Thai Media only prints what is told, they ask no questions and investigate nothing.
Every once in awhile you will get a follow up to a story, but that typically only happens when it's related to other news.
I've been hoping for decades for things to change. The BBK post did have some decent reporters in the late 90's / early 2000's but they were all expats and spoke to loudly and eventually needed to depart Thailand. (not by choice)

I am watching from the sidelines and its like the son is being lead into the lions den, Also like an arranged marriage , My wife's first marriage was arranged and that ended in Divorce but we have told them that if any marriage, Then its going to be next year at the soonest and even then, It will be going into the summer of next year by the time my wife can get time off. The wife seems to like this girl, She is switched on and to be truthful i feel sorry for the son, I feel that he is under pressure to have this relationship, He is 30 years old , He doesn't have a care in the world, He can go out drinking and he will be losing his freedom. I understand that falling in love can be magical and most of us have been there were you do want to live your life with someone until the wife takes a bite from the wedding cake which causes a nasty reaction that causes her to start dictating and nagging But hey, That's most women for you. To be totally honest, People are far better just living together than getting married , End of the day its a bit of paper that can end up costing you a fortune if it goes wrong especially if its in the UK
It's a little sad you're telling a 30 yr old what he can do.
You do realize a Thai girl in her 30's is consider an old maid and doesn't have many choices.
I would stay out of it, it's her son and her money!
I used to weigh in on family issues, but I learned my lesson years ago and now stay out of it. My wife would get upset and talk badly about her sister, I would agree and express my thoughts, but later it would come back to bite me for talking bad about her sister. So know I let family deal with family.
Don't get me wrong I'll support my wife on her decisions but when it comes to her family I just agree with her and hold my thoughts.

Quite likely. Most government positions have a price tag on them. Even entry level positions come with a fairly hefty price amounting to well over a year’s salary.
There’d be some serious dosh up for a Governor position (x77 provinces)It seems very common, my wife's uncle paid over a million baht for the position of principle at school.

I have visited Russia and the people were not as described here. I enjoyed my time spent in Russia as a tourist and believe what I have read here is USA Propaganda which is being used to back up their failures in the USA Foreign Policy as well as their failure in Economic Policy where Russia is doing well even with the USA boycotting most Russian products. Of course not the ones that are in a shortage in the US.
USA Propaganda? if so, the Thai media is being told what to say by the USA or
The USA has Russians in Thailand doing these things to make Russians look bad...so which one do you think it is?

When there's a drug on the market that cost 30 - 50 - 80 Baht (or what ever) a hit, then it is a problem. Because 99% of population can afford be high all day everyday. Pump it up to 500 / 1000 Baht a hit and problem will be gone.
So focus on related corruption, trafficking etc. etc. etc. to pump up the price.
please tell me how do you pump up the price, it's not like the government can tax it..
also a tablet last I heard was now about 5 baht, or less. I heard low as 3 baht, this is what I heard as I dont buy it so dont really know, but for sure not 30+ baht.

I believe it is turning into a real crisis and people are effected for the rest of their lives and not in a good way.
Stronger punishment?More understanding and more open dialogue?
Using this stuff is very dangerous and can not/should not even be compared to the use of alcohol or ganja.
A lost generation? Some people even proposing to let people off the hook when they carry no more then five pills.
It is cheaper than alcohol and available any where.
Is the government fishing behind the net?
I think a lot of this stuff comes from a country to the west and the profits are used for the war there.
I have been told that once you get hooked it is very hard to go clean again.
Any ideas out there?
It's not getting, it's been a problem for decades. How to stop it, I have no clues as first the police would need to do their job and they only do that once in a while to show everyone that something is being done.
There is just too much money being made both inside and outside of Thailand. If you dont already know the BIB controls most of this. The prices continue to go down and unfortunately many more people will loose their lives.
The government has talked about rehab programs but this is Thailand and we know any government run program is going to be worthless anyway.
So, what's the answer in Thailand? I truly dont know.

Exactly, what??? Democracy, like communism, is a philosophy, a theory, they don't exist in reality. Asians have their own philosophies and are doing nicely thank you, they don't need Caucasians to drag them into their wars. Australia and NZ aren't Asian societies and already cooperate with the West....AUKUS and the 5 eyes are examples. Japan, South Korea and the Philippines already brush shoulders with the US while keeping their respective Asian identities while Thailand is pragmatic, dodging and weaving, shadow boxing and placating, it serves them well. Keep your cold wars and arms races in the labyrinths they are already locked in and don't make the world even more dangerous than it already is. Nato, i.e. the US caused the Ukraine/Russian war by poking the bear in this region for years, talks of Nato and EU membership (against all agreements) were the last straw but it's never the US that suffers the consequences.
Please tell me how the US in not facing consequences from the Ukraine war? The US is sending billions upon billions to help Ukraine fight off an invader.
How is NATO a threat to Russia? NATO is an agreement between nations to support each other if invaded. If Russia has no plans to invade anyone why does he need to worry about NATO?

these are the things i was asking about. In your comment you invariably gave me very little information I am seeking.. Now if only someone can tell me who in BIB is best to talk to.. What office in City Hall I need to go make inquiries, and which tax authorities.
pretty obvious questions i asked yet you alone invariably gave me some small amount of what I was inquiring about.
My advise is to see a lawyer.
You are going to need a lawyer for the amity treaty part anyway.

Perhaps you should be talking to a business consultant or an attorney if you are not satisfied with our services 😉
but that costs money and he needs to save every baht for his water sports business, which will launch Pattaya into the water sports hub of Asia.

Even with a work permit games can be played.
In my circle of contacts I knew foreigners working in specialty medical clinics with work permits. The employer used this as leverage to manipulate foreign employees.
Boss would pay a fraction of agreed upon salary and when unpaid amounts got too high or foreign workers got too vocal demanding back pay, boss would cancel work permit and fire worker claiming inferior work provided.
The unpaid salaries were used to purchase toys like cars and helicopters and hotels in resort destinations.
if they have an employment contract like they should the employer just cant fire them. Also there is severance pay.
Why would the employees allow this? did the employees use fake documents to get a work permit?
If the employee are legal they have rights, the labor board in Thailand is very strong and is on the side of the worker.

Lucky you. If you were a freelancer like me you'd know it's impossible to get a B Visa.
I'm not aware of the US rules about VISAs (a country, btw, that I'm not a huge fan of), nor I'm interested on the topic, which isn't the one in discussion.
Have a nice dayYou're right I'm lucky, I got a good education went to work for a company in the USA and after a few years they transferred me to Thailand.
Sorry you have an issue! Thailand is not what it used to be (relaxed and easy going)
It used to so easy to get a B visa, just needed a letter from a Thai company saying they were going to hire you.
Then that was abused and they started wanting cooperate documents, taxes etc and it just got tighter since then.
I feel sorry for guys like you having to deal with current government.

Or maybe make more sensible rules?
Tbh the rules about working in Thailand are medioevalI never had an issue getting a work permit and many of my expat friends never had an issue getting a work permit. Sure the process of getting a B visa has gotten harder over the years, but still not that difficult.
Medieval? Ask a Thai how difficult it is for a work visa for the USA.

Have to wonder how many Dj's have work permits as they seem to be playing everywhere and it's not as if they can hide as their faces are usually plastered all over the place on advertising signs .
Also what about high profile Dj's that have been booked to play from abroad for 1-2 nights in the country ? Is there a special shirt term visa they get ?
yes, there are work permits for entertainers.

I mention some time ago, at the time the penny was abolished, that was the only company that put 2 cents on the pump gauge without you having even filled up a drop.
In the Netherlands, they have a refinery that also refines for other companies but still Shell's price is always the highest.
What penny was abolished?
Not sure what you're talking about 2 cents, my pumps have always started at zero, as I always check.

TerraPower has received $2 billion from the US Department of Energy. Nice and the US gets a demonstrator. Should it prove better economics (ie., higher burn efficiencies, lower waste generation) for commercialization, the $2 billion should be repaid.
actually it's $1 billion from the govt, it's a total of $2 billion from govt and private funds.
I would like to see if the US government is investing that much they should have 50% shares in the company. No voting rights just share in the profits.

Is there photos of them fleeing? evidence of the Road Traffic Offenses outside of the police statement of this right now?
I've only seen video of them restraining the cop, I'm sure there will be some eye witness statements appear in time but right now there is no evidence of what the police stated happened before the video
I'm not that familiar with the culture in New Zealand, so it's normal to restrain the police when they stop you in New Zealand?

He's lucky they even showed up.
From experience and reports from Thai friends, if it's a small matter and there is no option to make any money 99% of the time they dont show up.
We had an issue with a drunk neighbor banging on our door all night so my wife called 3 different police offices and nobody showed up.
